This company is useless. Practitioner do not join a scheduled call, cancelled it 5 minutes after it was scheduled to end, and they billed me anyway. There is no customer support except a phone number.... Mehr ansehen

Terrible

TLDR: Never got my prescription sent in until 4 days later and lots of phone calls.

They're terrible. I needed a prescription for a new inhaler. And if was never sent in after my visit, I had to keep calling customer support and be connected to the prescription line where I was on hold for a long time/chose the callback option and never received a callback. Explained the severity of the situation but even the customer service supervisors did not want to help me make sure that prescription would finally be sent in, all they did was make a ticket (I didn't even get an email confirmation) and connect me to the prescription line again.

After many calls, I finally spoke to someone on the pharmacy line, who still didn't help me. So I kept making calls and was finally connected to another person named Yetunde on the pharmacy line and she helped and got my prescription in. It was so straightforward and quick to resolve with her. Thankful to that one person, but everyone else was terrible including the supervisor. Spend the extra money at a real doctor's office and save yourself the stress. My prescription was only sent in after all that- 4 days after the original visit.

Not happy - At all!

In the past, I have had good experiences with amwell and have even recommended them. I need to see a dr. Maybe every couple of years for a strep infection. I know how my body reacts to strep, how my throat feels, and how it looks. Before, the doctor has prescribed antibiotics and I’ve gotten better. Unfortunately, this time I also happened to have what I think is strep plus the dreaded omnicron. I called 2 nights in a row with throat pain that was unbearable. Both doctors told me - it’s just another symptom of Covid. You’ll be fine in a few days. One prescribed a drug for pain which had me throwing up all night. Imagine an aleady sore throat and dry heaving all night long! The next doctor said - oh that was probably the meds. Discontinue those. Well, duh! I already threw them away (they cost $40 btw). What is the harm in prescribing an antibiotic for a patient?! Especially one that calls once every 2 or 3 years? Why won’t they just help? With Covid, my only other option is the ER. That’ll be a $3k visit for them to tell me I have strep. All of my Covid symptoms are gone, but the sore throat is unbearable. Ridiculous that these cocky know it all doctors think they can tell me that I don’t know anything from personal experiences. Pisses me off. I wish I could go on the app and rate these 2 men, personally! 🤬

Horrible

Horrible, was in the waiting room as “next patient” for over an hour. No doctor ever showed up. Absolutely asinine. Paid $79 to wait for nothing. Going to dispute the charges with my bank.

Charged for services NOT rendered, no refund promised, just a month wait to find out

I was unable to find a therapist appointment in person due to extremely long waits for a first appointment. Amwell was recommended to me as a quick and effective alternative. Not that it is relevant here, but I have worked in a COVID ICU for a year and a half now and finally felt ready to talk to someone about my anxiety.

I signed up for AMWELL and submitted my insurance information, and made an appointment with a therapist. I signed into my virtual appointment and waited for 45 minutes, then received a message on the app that the doctor could not keep the appointment and canceled. The only way to exit out of that screen was to click the "cancel" button, so (my mistake I guess) that is what I did. There was no other button. Not even a text box to reply to the message that specifically asked me if I had any questions. I am unsure how it makes sense to ask me if I have questions but provide no way for me to respond with one.

I read beforehand that the charge for canceling an appointment was $40. This should not be relevant because it was the doctor who canceled, not me, but I bring that up because I was charged $109 (not $40).

I then called the number the app provided and told them what happened. The customer service rep submitted a ticket, whatever that means, and told me I would hear back within one month. A month!?

So basically, I made an appointment to speak to someone about my severe anxiety, got charged full price for it despite the doctor canceling on me, was not promised I would even get refunded, and told I may have to wait an entire month before I even find out if I will get my money back. This app just added to the problem it was designed to help with. It is not well designed at all, clearly, because my only way to exit the app was to click the "cancel" button (after myself having been canceled on) and subsequently get charged for services NOT rendered. And again, was not even promised a refund, just a ridiculously long wait. Do not recommend.

Classic example of left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing

The online doctor prescribed topical steroid for my dermatitis. Waited the next day to pick up prescription because pharmacy were closed. Called the pharmacy as soon as they were opened, was told they did not have a script. Called Amwell customer service and got no answer. Then called my insurance company who was able to get a hold of them, they resubmitted the prescription and told me that I had to wait another 2 hours. Got to know their elevator music and automated customer service as I was put on hold many times with no resolution. Advice go to a walk-in clinic to save you grief and possibly your life.

I can’t complain

It’s sad to see how people just complain about every little thing. Go to ER complain, go to Doctor and complain, go to urgent care and complain go to telehealth and complain. Just relax and stop complaining and this will start your self care recovery from whatever is bothering you at this time. We all survived no matter what. See it’s was ok the entire time. Let’s just all Love each other and meet each other half way with our imperfections.

Can’t get prescriptions ordered by doctor

I am still waiting to be able to get my prescription that was ordered for me 4 hours ago. I’ve spent 65 minutes on the phone and still have no resolution. All I know is prescription failed to make it to pharmacy. Should have gone to hospital and if I don’t have resolution soon I guess I will. Wanted to start meds right away so I would miss less work.

Prescription Refill Nightmare

I attempted to use Amwell to get a refill on my prescription for behavioral and mental health. (Citalopram 30mg) I have been on this medication for over two years and it has really changed my life for the better. I have therapy every other week and had been working with a psychiatrist who unfortunately could no longer see me. The purpose of this was to give me time to get in with a new long term doctor, as I am now on a waitlist.

The time has come that my medication is about to run out (from my initial provider), some few months later. It turns out that despite what I was told at the time of the appointment by the provider, that no prescription refill was ever sent to my pharmacy. I’m now on day three of trying to get the issues resolved frantically as I get closer and closer to having no medication. I’m facing going into a depression now because of this company’s incompetence. I don’t even have the energy to explain the complications that have surrounded this but it has wasted so much of my time and the fact that I paid for this… it all just feels like a gigantic scam. Save yourself the hassle and maybe just consider going to the ER, it will likely be less trouble.

Tech Support at Pre-K Level

Couldn’t connect to virtual visit after following all instructions carefully. Tried several times. Called their tech support and was told...
Probably your phone
Then it must be your Wifi
Try email instead of text for the link
Try a different phone
Look at your settings, which ones? Just go through your settings and adjust whatever is necessary?????
Is there something else I can help you with?
That’s the level of tech support and customer service they have. Unbelievable, incompetence at its best.

SCAM SCAM SCAM

SCAM SCAM SCAM. My husband is having a serious infection, we called a doctor who didn't ask him hardly any questions, just wrote him a prescription for antibiotics, which never got to the pharmacy. We called the helpline and all they could do was “report” the incident. There is no way to contact the doctor who we talked to. This was an absolute waste of time and $80.

Watch out they will over charge or double bill

I had one visit which from looking at my insurance should have been no charge. Of course when I try to get that visit they say it's 59.00 I say ok whatever and pay with my hsa card. That same day after video visit I get email low balance on that card. I checked the app for my card and they have charged me twice. I emailed them and they say no we only see one charge
I sent them the screen shot of the double bill. Now they are asking if someone else in my home used it

No help....

I set up an Amwell appt on Saturday evening since it was outside of my regular doctor's office hours and I was experiencing a lot of ear pain, most likely from an ear infection from seasonal allergies. Typically, I am treated with antibiotics when this happens (usually once or twice a year). The first doctor wouldn't speak to me at all and said I had to disconnect and set up the call with video. So I did that and the doctor on the second call said that there was nothing she could do for me without video. I had set up video but when she called, it came through as a phone call. The doctor didn't really try to get a history - just said it was something I would have to go in person for a physical. So... I continue to suffer through Saturday and Sunday, waiting for my doctor's office to open on Monday.

This was the worse Healthcare…

This was the worse Healthcare experience I've ever had. I feel like I threw my money and time away using this service. I was up the whole night with severe back pain, nausea, vomiting, and cramps. Which I've experienced in the past but never at this magnitude. The doctor kept throwing up random possible diagnosis but never ask me questions that would back up reasoning for the diagnosis. First, he said ectopic pregnancy, when I told him that was impossible,then he said appendicitis, but i have no rebound tenderness and my pain is not located near my RLQ. I've been a nurse for 14 years. It's sometimes challenging to diagnose patients in person, and I'm sure its close to impossible to diagnosis over the phone if you're not listening. The doctor kept talking over me, telling me to go to urgent care. I'm not an idiot I know that was an option. If he would have just listened, I tried to explain to him my related condition, but he kept rushing me. I truly felt neglected and discriminated against. Whether it was my race, sex, or condition if not sure. I'm a registered travel nurse away from home. I used telehealth because its raining, i don't have my own transportation, I don't know the area, I'm not sure who takes my out of state insurance here, and my symptoms exacerbate when I move. This amwell platform completely failed me and I will not recommend this service to my friends, coworkers, or patients because I genuinely care for there wellbeing, health, money and time. This platform is a scam to take money from people by having a provider throw out random diagnosis only to tell you to go to urgent care.

Doctor continued to talk, but not listen

My family and I usually have a very good experience with Amwell, but today the doctor I had was terrible. She would not let me speak, she just continued to talk and did not listen. She did not read my survey ahead of time so I knew nothing about me during the visit. The reason I called is because I am out of town and I am sick and cannot get into my regular doctor. I have a long history of sinus infections and have had sinus surgery multiple times. She refused to believe I have an infection. Her visit summary was also incorrect. In her assessment she stated I had no other symptoms and I refused medication. Which, I did not. I am a nurse and I do not appreciate being treated this way by this doctor. I would never be so rude to my patients.

This is fast becoming like "Ask a…

This is fast becoming like "Ask a Nurse". They don't really tell you anything, they just tell you to contact your doctor. The reason I used Amwell today is to AVOID seeing my doctor so I can avoid paying down the exorbitant deductible. The "doctor" I spoke to refuse to prescribe the usual Bactrim antibiotic that I'm always prescribed because she didn't want to "guess" without a urine culture. So a complete waste of time and money to contact Amwell for me.

Horrible this was my first time using

Horrible this was my first time using. First doctor I was scheduled for never called. I called Amwell they apologized and explained some doctors will decline if it's not video. Ok set me up for video Well, the next doctor I was waiting for shows they were connecting then was switched to another doctor so I'm waiting again. Next doctor kept connecting for the video but then just called. After I informed her that I'm post covid 5 months ago long hauler. Last week all symptoms returned even worse haven't slept in 2 day because is pain. She said take Tylenol and get another test. I might as well have given this $80 to a bum... smh that conversation was literally 2 mins.

I wasted well over an hour waiting on…

I wasted well over an hour waiting on the Host Doctor to arrive. I made phone calls to the Doctor’s Office to try and get connected. After several attempts from the Provider/Host to connect with me.....nothing! I was already in several meetings waiting on the Host to arrive all with the same result...A NO SHOW on the Provider’s part. Isn’t technology wonderful when it works.

My experience to date with AMWELL NOW technology is no stars ⭐️ for them nor the with the Provider in question. Maybe next time??

The Office Manager of PCP did call me back to apologize and set up an in person doctor visit for today. Kudos to her for trying to make it right👍

The doctor just rescheduled the…

The doctor just rescheduled the appointment two hours in advance without letting me know ahead of time. I was asleep at 7 am PDT, how would I check my email?
They didn't try to get a confirmation from me before rescheduling. This is super unprofessional.

Awful Experience.

I had an appointment today with Jaimie Darcy-Dowler at 10am. At 4:30am, I received an email saying that it was postponed to 11am. Then at 10:20, I received another email notification that my appointment was posted until 6pm. After waiting two weeks for this appointment, I am disappointed. Their service is garbage.

No follow up to their reviews

I saw a physician on a video visit at the end of January that I did not find satisfactory or acceptable, so I reported it below. While they were quick to respond on Trustpilot, I emailed the Social.Media Amwell email and I have only gotten one email specifying that they would get back to me. It is now almost April and I have not had any updates on my complaint case.
