I keep getting emails to update or verify my home address, but the instructions in those emails are useless for actually verifying anything — and I still haven't been able to get my address updated.
When I set up my payments I opted for autopay, yet I kept getting notifications that I hadn't paid. I ended up making an extra payment because the online platform doesn't sync with their email notifications. Now I can't get anyone to tell me whether that extra payment will be applied to next month or put toward principal — a simple question I've been unable to get answered.
This company is trying to automate everything with AI, and it's nearly impossible to get a person on the phone. I finally did — and their phone support is outsourced overseas, with call quality and a language barrier that made it impossible to resolve anything.
Two basic issues — updating my address and getting a straight answer on how my extra payment is applied — that a normal bank could have handled in minutes, and I'm still stuck. If you're considering a mortgage, avoid AmeriHome if you can. They have essentially no customer service.

Someone reached out to tell me I didn't make a payment that is set up for autodraft. Of course I thought it was a scam call, because I couldn't understand the person calling — their phone support is overseas and the language barrier is rough. I finally figured out who was calling, checked online, and now I have fees because their site is terrible. Calling isn't really an option since I can't understand the people who take the calls. They offer an email link for technical support that goes to a blank page. Someone did reach out a few weeks after my first review to help with that issue, so hopefully that works again. If you have options, don't go with AmeriHome.

I can not create an account to pay the mortgage. AmeriHome customer service is ineffective as has not fixed the issue.
When buying a new home, I would suggest establishing a condition that AmeriHome Mortgage is not approved.

I refinanced with amerihome and was sent an email that if I did refinance I would receive a $300 visa gift card. It’s been over two months now and I haven’t received the gift card. I emailed the lady that did the refinance for us and tried to call as well. No one will return my calls or email.

My payment is due on the 1st of each month. Well, I can never pay on the 1st due to the way my paychecks come in. I have a 15 day grace period and if I don't pay on the 1st they report me to the credit bureaus and begin threatening me with calls and letters. The servicing company does not communicate with the lender, so when you make a payment they don't know it. I would never recommend this company to anyone based on my experience with them. My refinance loan was sold to them, I didn't choose them.

Amerihome is the worst possible mortgage servicer out there. They have been a constant problem since we have been with them for the last few months. We are always two weeks ahead on our payments and they constantly show us as past due. They affect my credit and don’t correct their mistakes. Don’t research anything or take the time and care to help you. They are extremely rude and have no knowledge when you call them, especially after sitting on hold. If you can NOT use Amerihome I highly recommend that!!!

Wow!! Come to find out today that they had applied our original first payment that we made to our original mortgage servicer to our account finally, after my first review, and now they have backed that payment back out for no reason and stating it was a “misapplied application” and are acting like we’re late. They are a complete joke!! I have provided proof of this payment and called so many times and they still are useless!!

Kate Luker and Patricia Fite are the most amazing people to work with! Everything was effortless on my part and they went above and beyond to make things right and just for my husband and I! I was very scared at first about refinancing but they guided us every step of the way and we didn’t even have to leave our home to visit any offices, they came to us! Love, love , love Amerihome!!!

Terrible dishonest company do not do business with these thieves

They are deceptive and liars.

It took more more than a week to try to pay off my mortgage. They limit the amount you can pay on a daily basis online. Then, they limit the payments you can make when processing your payment on the phone. Their entire process is set up to get more money from interest and not allow you to pay your loan off. Then, their customer service is set up to not allow you to talk to a manager, they say they are going to send you the pay off letter, but never do and treat you poorly when you question them. DO NOT do business with these losers!

Less than 0 stars if there is an option. Customer service sucks every time and come back with inconsistent information.

LESS than Zero Stars! I am a realtor and have been trying to negotiate a short sale for my clients. Amerihome is the servicer. We have been under contract since November 2025. It is now end of April 2026 and they cannot seem to figure out how to review documents and keep kicking the file out of underwriting when all requested documentation is already there and verified by multiple employees and managers. I have to call 3 times per day because they do not communicate with anyone, not even the mortgae holders. No direct line of contact to that department. HORRIBLE experience!

They have taken over my loan and ever since I have had zero access to make any adjustments to my payments including Escrow accounts. I have called, emailed, and taken every step suggested but have zero resolution and just keep getting sent in a cycle of call this number, email these people. It seems no one knows how to help correct the issues I am seeing, this will ultimately be costing me tens of thousands of dollars in Escrow because I am unable to make the proper adjustments to cover the cost adequately. In my 46 years on the earth never have I had this much trouble trying to gain the ability to manage my auto daft payments. Absolutely unprofessional, incompetence at its finest, nothing about them taken over my loan has been a pleasant experience .

I need to get this off my chest regarding Amerihome Mortgage. We started off with a 3 month Forbearance which we were told would be "put at the end of the loan". I spoke to a representative and she said just to make my regular mortgage payment on the 4th month. Why I called to do that, I was told I needed to pay off the 3 months previous or I would go into default, obviously I didn't have it so the next option was to do a Loan Modification. We filled out the paperwork to start that process. After waiting and me calling numerous times for a status on the application, they sent us the wrong paperwork for the "type" of loan we had. We had to fill out a different set of paperwork for our loan, which we did. After months of calling again, we finally received the Modification Trial payment plan. We made our 3 months payment on time - which by the way were about $300.00 more than our initial mortgage payment - but we were able to financially make that payment. When we received the Final Modification, to our surprise - it went from the Trial payment of $1500.00 to $1800.00!!

Long story short, after years of trying to get an affordable payment - we now have to sell our home! We are heartbroken! Please be aware of Amerihome and their Modifications!!

This company authorized an automatic payment from my bank account,WITHOUT checking with me first. Somebody else called and verified everything and told them that they were authorized to make this payment..Yet nobody from Amerihome or ServiceMac contacted me to verify..This person is on the mortgage, not MY bank account..threw my whole bank account into the negative. Anybody could've called them and pretended to be somebody that they not and they just believed them.. I'm not happy. Yall need to make sure with the primary person FIRST before just believing anybody..Very unprofessional. Then when I called ,they act like it was the bank fault, no it's yall fault..

This company can't seem to get their records correct. They failed to pay the insurance payment (although they were quick to take out the amount in escrow). I had to pay the insurance company directly. When I contacted them, they swore that the issue would never happen again....until this year, when they failed to pay the insurance AGAIN. WORST bunch of idiots on the planet. They take your money but can't seem to manage it.

Jonathan and team took such great care of us with our refinance . Clear communication , expectations and fast response time. It was painless and saved us so much money !

After calling for about 10 times and being transferred to a robot, while also never getting a response to emails. I’m very unsatisfied.
