Thank you to Ross Matthews
Update 10/10/24:
What started out as a 1 star negative review, I have now altered to 4 stars. My original review is written below. What has changed? I have received an apology from senior manager Ross Matthews. The email he sent me, following his own investigation, was the most understanding and dignified I have ever received from a company. Acknowledging that Agility didn’t get it right and identifying where they need to learn has made all the difference. Ross has credited my bill so I don’t owe any money. This is a massive relief and I now feel I have been listened to and treated fairly. Thank you.
(Original review)
I leased a car via Agility fleet over 4 years. This commenced in 2020 and ended recently. Upon collection of the vehicle at the end of the lease no issues or problems were drawn to my attention. A guy basically walked around the car for a couple of minutes, asked me to sign an electronic pad then drove the car away.
A few days later I then received a large recharge bill for ‘chips’ damage totalling £297.00.
I have telephoned and emailed Agility and they have now offered me a reduction in the amount. This is not good enough.
I am now pursuing the BVRLA route for complaints procedures. If necessary I will instruct a solicitor and take legal action against Agility.
This is no longer about the amount of money that Agility want for the ‘chips’. It’s a matter of principle and fairness.
The collection of the car was done in an unprofessional manner. In the past I have leased cars from other companies. (I’ve been leasing cars for over 10 years). At the point of collection the car has been assessed and any issues have been brought to my attention immediately, before the car has been driven away. For example, the person collecting the car has walked around the vehicle with a sized circle which identifies fair wear and tear. Any marks or chips which fit into the circle are not charged for.
This was not done when Agility collected the car. The chips could have been caused by the guy who drove the car away.
Agility have not demonstrated fairness regarding wear and tear.
