Great service…

Third party hit my vehicle whilst parked and drove off, thankfully a witness got their details and i was able to pass this information to ageas. I made one phone call and ageas sorted it all, courtsey car, body shop repairer.everything and stress free.

I had a honda forza scooter stolen from…

I had a honda forza scooter stolen from an address i own but was not living there at the time. The scooter was insured at the address I was staying at, my parents. The theft was captured on cctv and the matter was recorded with the police. The person that deals with whether t
Ageas pays out is a man called Mr Middle. Consistent with other bike owners who have expressed their concerns about Ageas, they did not pay out on the policy, which was 3rd party fire and theft. Mr Middle will think this matter has gone away. It hasnt and it wont. Under no circumstances should you deal with this rogue company. The customer service experience is truly shocking, I felt I was being spoken to by a teenager in a hoodie, it really is that bad. Make sure you check your insurance and identify the underwriter. If it is Ageas you need to cancel at the earliest opportunity. It will save you hundreds if not thousands in the long run. They are bandits in the insurance industry. Looking forward to meeting you soon Mr middle. To update this review I would add that i took the opportunity to have this matter investigated by the ombudsman. Whilst the ombudsman can assist in some circumstances, it is not a process that inspired confidence. The ombudsman also have their own agendas and involving them is for me, neither here or there and their findings can often be wrong. In this case I will confirm that the ombudsman took the side of ageas. What this meant is that ageas wouldn't pay out on the theft because they said I wasn't residing at the address given on the policy. As a result of the ombudsman investigation I asked them to produce the evidence from Ageas that supported their thinking that I wasn't residing at the policy address. No evidence was ever produced, either by the ombudsman or Ageas. What this means is that Ageas did not pay out on a legitimate theft claim because they 'thought' i was not at the address. As a result of this review I have had contact with ageas and again I have asked them to produce evidence. I will give them time to respond and update accordingly. In the absence of any response, this review stands and I urge people to protect yourself from Ageas and obtain insurance somewhere more trustworthy and reliable.

Poor practice from Ageas

I took out both home and car insurance based on competitive quotes from Ageas. Sadly when the home insurance came up for renewal last year they hiked the premium by 66%. No change in circumstances, no claims, just a hugh increase without explanation. To make matters worse they advised not to contact them since they wouldn't discount the price to phone callers. Basically 'take it or leave it'. I left it and went elsewhere. This year the car insurance came up for renewal and the premium increased by 33%. Same situation, no change in circumstances, no claims, no explanation. I will once again be taking my business elsewhere. Make of this what you will. I view it as a cynical (some might say unethical) attempt to attract new customers with attractive offers and then milk them once their insurance comes up for renewal. Not a good business model and I won't be using them again.

While we always aim to offer competitive pricing based on the details we hold, insurance premiums can and do change from year to year across the market. This is influenced by a range of factors, including claims experience, underwriting criteria, and wider market conditions, which means renewal prices are not guaranteed to remain the same as previous years.

Our approach is to provide what we consider to be our best available price upfront at renewal, rather than offering reductions through negotiation. This is intended to ensure consistency and fairness for all customers, although we recognise that this approach may feel inflexible and won’t suit everyone, particularly when alternative providers are able to offer a lower premium.

We’d also like to reassure you that our pricing is not designed to attract customers with an introductory offer and then increase premiums at renewal. Auto‑renewal is optional, and renewal documentation is issued well in advance to allow customers time to review their policy and explore other options if they choose to do so.

We’re sorry that we were unable to be more competitive for you on either policy at renewal and that you ultimately decided to move your business elsewhere. Awful Company to deal with

Awful Company to deal with!

I called today as my policy had gone up by nearly 14% and I have had no claims no points sand no fines ever. Staff I Spoke to was very uncompassionate and unempathic, her tribe was harsh. Couldn't answer my question went the policy had gone up. I even told they I only do 2000 a year, no use, I told them I had rear and front high resolution dashcams, no use, they don't make adjustments for that even though they would use the data. If you have dashcams surely that would help the insurers make a decision on that video data you gave them for FREE. They should take into account mileage and dashcams, don't see why not, but the associate was very uncompassionate trials and very abrasive. GDCCA06986649, now moved policy to the RAC, better policy, and £70 cheaper too fit better cover. Shame of you Ageas! You have to listen to customers and be more empathetic and make adjustments, not be arrogant!

You need to make changes in your policies to make concessions/allowance for those that take precautions by installing rear and front dashcams. I had a accident early January 2024 where someone at the hospital reversed into me and drive of. You used my data to establish that it wasn't my fault and you got ALL your money back from their insurance. If it wasn't for dashcam it would be a different story, so WHY DO YOU MAKE ALLOWANCE FOR THOSE WITH DASHCAMS AS IT HELPS YOU ESTABLISH WHO WAS AT FAULT. SO CHANGE!

We understand how frustrating it can be to see a premium increase despite having no claims, convictions, or penalties. While we always aim to offer our most competitive price based on the information available to us, premiums can change from year to year due to a wide range of factors, including underwriting criteria, market conditions, and changes in risk assessment across the industry. Unfortunately, this means there is no guarantee that a renewal price will match or improve on the previous year’s premium.

At present, dashcams are not a factor we are able to rate on, and this is an underwriting decision that our agents are not able to override. While dashcam footage may assist in the event of a claim, it does not currently influence our pricing model. In relation to mileage, lower annual mileage does not always result in a reduced premium, and in some cases it can increase the price. That said, we do appreciate that this should have been clearly explained and checked fully during your call, and we apologise if that did not happen.

We’re sorry we were unable to be more competitive for you this year and that you’ve chosen to move your policy elsewhere. We do appreciate your feedback, as it helps us identify areas where we can improve both our communication and customer experience. We’ll ensure your comments are shared with the appropriate teams.

Having had a reIn my search I came across aegeas and it suited me better minder for my car insurance in from another company , i decided to shop around for a change . In so doing I found Aegeas and it appealed to me . Further enquiries carried me on to the final decision

Needed to know if the payment had gone…

Needed to know if the payment had gone through, chat head no use, 30 minutes wait to talk to an adviser, online assistant said basically sort it yourself, check with worldpay ..if you are going to do away with people, make sure your system is up to scratch..it isn't and get your staff to actually do what we pay them to do ! How easy will it be if I need to claim?

You dont look after existing customers…

You dont look after existing customers putting our insurance up and low prices for new customers it's not fair I have been with ageas for a number of years now and every year the price goes up so I wont be renewing next time around and wouldnt recomend ageas to anyone

We do actually use the same pricing model for existing customers and new customers, so if every single detail entered for a new quote was identical to what we hold on your renewal, then the price would be the same if the new quote was done at the same time the renewal was offered.
We do use real time pricing however, so once we offer the renewal, the price remains fixed unless any changes are made, whereas new quotes will be subject to any price changes until purchased.

We do also try and remain competitive year on year, but unfortunately this cannot be possible for every customer every year, and we do encourage shopping around to find the best price for the cover that suits your needs.
