SCAM! BUYER BEWARE!

Ordered 6 net sponges that are supposed to be authentically sourced from Africa. Shipping confirms they are drop shipped from China.
My order arrived only after I opened a chargeback with my bank nearly 5 weeks after ordering.
Then I was charged $48 by the company on my credit card without authorisation.
I have had to open another dispute with my bank and they have cancelled my card to prevent further charges from this company who also trade under GLOWNETIC.

They took $29.99 from my account every month as subscription charge. I did not sign up for subscription. I asked them to refund the charges. They would not refund the charges. Horrible, do not trust them! I will never recommend them and I will never buy from them again.

Though it took longer than a month, I finally received products purchased in two separate transactions. But I was also charged 4 monthly charges for products/services never ordered or received. I tried to rectify this with the company, and they offered a gift card. When I tried to use the card, it didn't go through. I tried to file a complaint with the BBB who couldn't reach the company. DON'T ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!

I placed a one-time order with Afroscrub and was later charged $29.99 per month without my consent. The company automatically adds a so-called “free membership” to your cart during checkout, which secretly turns into a recurring subscription. There is no clear disclosure about this charge, and customers only discover it when their bank statements show monthly debits under “tryafroscrub.de.”
When I contacted customer service, they admitted the membership is pre-set to a quantity of 1 at checkout but claimed it was “optional.” This is misleading, because no customer would expect a “free” add-on to become a paid subscription. They initially refused a full refund, offering only a partial refund or store credit, and then blocked my email address when I pressed further.
I also discovered the company uses multiple websites (afroscrub.com, tryglownetic.com, tryafroscrub.de) to obscure their identity and suppresses negative reviews on their site.
This is a classic subscription trap. Consumers should be very cautious, the business model relies on hidden charges and making it difficult to get refunds.

Scam! Stay away! No order confirmation, no emails nothing. Order took weeks to arrive then 1 month later they charged me again for a subscription. I never agreed to a subscription. I have received no response to my email. Nothing on website about subscription just a link how to cancel.

I received the items I ordered. The shipping took extremely long. I was pleased with the product once it arrived but then I started receiving a recurring $29.99 charge. I contacted the company. They said it was for a subscription that I signed up for. I did not sign up for a subscription. I requested that they cancel the subscription, they agreed but would not refund the charges. I asked them what I was supposed to receive for the subscription as I never received anything more than the items I purchased. There has been no response. Buyer beware! They sell a good product but they ruin their credibility with this sneaky trick.

They will sign you up for a monthly recurring subscription charge and when you try to cancel before the date they won't respond to your inquiry until after they have charged the monthly amount. Then they won't even refund you, just tell you that you can place an order at any time. This has been a nightmare to resolve.

I did not sign up for a subscription, yet they charged me $42 about six weeks after my initial order. They’re refusing the refund. They’re a complete scam, don’t waste your time.

Update: After giving me the runaround for several days, I was able to secure a full refund after threatening to report them to the government as scammers. Try that to get your refund! Good luck!

At the time of my purchase, Afroscrub had a "BUY 1 GET 1 FREE" deal. So, I purchased two exfoliating net sponges as the deal was buying 1 to get 1 free. Waited for delivery...nothing! Tracking number said it was delivered but no physical items was left at my doorstep or mailbox. Checked my cameras, no signs of theft. It was nothing! Emailed their support 'where's my package'? They responded, "Your order was part of your subscription and does not include physical shipment". EXCUSE ME... Subscription?? What subscription? It clearly states "BUY 1 ONE GET 1 FREE". Nowhere it says my purchase was a *subscription*. I was livid! They sold me a subscription but not the product, even though there was no verbiage of the word subscription in my order. It was misleading, I felt I got scammed!! The support team refused refund and refuse to send me the two (2) exfoliating net sponges that I purchased as the site said so. They did not honor my request. AFROSCRUB IS A SCAM!! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS SITE!!! They'll sell you a subscription instead of the actual product. BULLSHIT!! Disappointing.

Unexpected subscription charges. What a scam. If you purchase from them they will automatically sign you up to a subscription. I only realized when they took $51 Nz dollars from my account exactly one month after my purchase. I did not sign up for any subscription and when I sent them a detailed message there automatically response was to copy and paste and send it straight back to me. I hope others don't get caught up with these frauds. Wish I researched about them first.

I ordered two purple AfroScrubs and two red AfroScrubs from AfroScrub. While the purple scrubs were correct, they sent me two pink scrubs instead of the red ones I paid for. I contacted them immediately, explained the mistake, and even offered to return the pink scrubs so they could send me the correct red ones.
They refused to send the correct items and refused to refund my money for the pink scrubs I did not order. Instead, they told me I could reorder the red scrubs myself with a 15% discount on a future purchase. This is completely unacceptable — I should not have to spend more money to receive the items I already paid for.
To make matters worse, AfroScrub advertises that their products are shipped from Africa, but my order came from China, which feels misleading.
I will not be ordering from AfroScrub again and cannot recommend them to others. Customers deserve honesty, correct orders, and fair resolutions when mistakes are made.

I did receive the product but it took over a month to get shipped (from china). The website automatically signs you up for a 30$ monthly subscription that is tricky to cancel. I emailed them that I wanted a refund on the membership but they are trying to deny the refund request.

Oh dear! I wish I had read these reviews first. I placed an order and was satisfied with the product and today received an unexpected and unauthorised charge! This is a scam! What a terrible way to run a business. My advice would be to stay away! They clearly do not care about bad reviews

I had the same experience-unexpected, fraudulent charges added as free to my order. Then, they took $29.99 on July 1 and July 29 for this VIP charge that I did not order or agree to pay for. I’m having a hard time getting a refund. First they offered a gift card, then 30% refund, now 40% refund! Unacceptable. Beware of what you are getting into! Scammers! Poor business practice!

Like with other clients, purchasing the product on their page will AUTOMATICALLY sign you up for a membership that bills you $29.99. This is not advertised clearly at all!!!

This company send the product but somehow sneakily set you up on a subscription so that you're paying them a monthly fee.

Ordered 4 for my family I got an email stating the order had been delivered when I contacted the company to ask why I had not received the items as per the email they said that I had read the message wrong when my items finally arrived. The item themselves were lovely however a couple of days later a second payment left my bank account and I contacted them to dispute this only to be told I had signed up to a subscription and because I had signed up to the subscription it was my fault that the payment was coming out. I disputed this and asked them for a refund and to cancel the subscription and they only offered me a 20% refund on my subscription further emails back-and-forth and trying to contact them at all available ways possible (emails, website etc) They came back to me and advised that they only offer me a 40% refund and my payment because I had clicked and chosen to pay the subscription. Please do not use them. It’s another way of trying to get money out of you and trying to get your money back is absolutely ridiculous. I’ve now had no option but to go straight to my bank and report them to the fraud department and this is not a pleasant experience at all.

I have to say, it’s not a bad product.
Received my order within a couple of weeks of ordering. Noticed today a payment pending to them for £23, yet I’d paid £17.70 on July 7th for my one off purchase. Contacted the bank who stopped further payments but said I had to contact the company in the first instance to get a refund. I emailed them and have just now (01.30am) received this response:-

I genuinely don’t remember seeing anything about a subscription when I ordered. Equally, why would you pay a monthly subscription to receive nothing for it in return! Bonkers.
I don’t generally check my bank transactions daily but I’m waiting for a refund from a different company. I’m thankful I saw it and my bank has stopped all future transactions to them but I’d say the chances of me getting back the £23 are slim to none (as they say in the email, they can give me a 50% off discount card. To be honest I didn’t even expect a reply.
I dread to think how many people they’re skimming money from who don’t check their accounts.
So whilst the product itself is ok, I’d suggest really scrutinising the small print, if it’s even there at all….
