Like many others, a month after ordering some products I saw a charge of £23 come out of my account. Looking at their website I see the free VIP support at checkout is a monthly subscription. I have had to cancel the card I used to order the products to stop any further payments being made. I now have to wait for a new card and then change all my payments and subscriptions linked to that card. Member

Not used yet , but just a front for a Chinese company nothing to do with black business or Father Christmas. Misrepresentation at its best !!!watch out for subscriptions another crafty ploy to take money

Scam!! This company signs you up for a subscription but details of this are nowhere to be found on the order/confirmation emails, and it's not mentioned on their website apart from a subscription cancellation link at the bottom of their front page. It's unclear what you get for this "subscription" and any company who acts in this way deserves to be run out of business. Avoid!

Ordered the 4 scrubs in May and was misled into a subscription. Did not find out about my subscription June when I was charged $29.99 but never received anything. Thinking it was on the way July gets here and I have another charge for $29.99 still no products. So I contacted them thru their site and can only send a email no number or anything. So I contacted them to cancel my subscription that I did not know I had and I received nothing for 2 months of paying. They responded and said because I had a subscription they will cancel it per my request and only refund me 20% of what I paid. I responded to there email and told them why would I pay for a subscription and not receive anything. They have order numbers and tracking numbers they can see if anything has been shipped out to me. I am done trying to support these businesses. Poor customer service. Product not what they say it is losses it’s lather after a couple uses. And color begins to fade, inconsistent stitching. It’s all hype you can buy a nice scrub to do better than this product. I am done supporting businesses that don’t appreciate their customers.

I thought this was a black owned business in the states. Imagine my surprise when I got notification that they are coming from china.

I hesitated a long time before ordering , and decided to try it out , I bought 2 sponges for £17 which is way overpriced but I thought if was a small-ish business and thought why not. The ads and website say everything is sourced from artisans in Nigeria , that’s is a LIE because on the tracking information you clearly see it’s been shipped from CHINA. Which makes the product even more overpriced. And a month after my purchase my bank had to stop a payment from Afroscrub for £23 (!) , when I tried to figure out what it was , I saw the mention of « membership » on their website. They did add a logo that said « VIP support - £0 » in my basket at checkout and I think it comes from that. Making people subscribe to a £20+ a month service without consent is CRAZY. Especially since their business has nothing to do with subscriptions , what would I be paying that £20 a month for ?? They’re scamy liars and I’m pretty sure their « founder » on the website is AI generated.

Basically they send you £3 made-in-china sponges and overcharge you + try to take a monthly payment until you notice and stop them.

The African net sponge itself is a perfectly fine product. The companies policies and traps are where things aren't great with Afroscrub. When checking out the product there is a box that says "premium VIP support and access to new product launches", this type of box is often seen in the check out portion of websites and often means that you're agreeing to join their mailing list. Unfortunately, this was not the case for Afroscrub. What this box actually means is that you are agreeing to a subscription and will be charged every month for another product+shipping. It does not state anywhere in the process that you are agreeing to this subscription and my first knowledge was a charge on my account. When I queried Afroscrub about it they said it was because I didn't uncheck the box and that the charge could not be refunded as the order had already been sent to the warehouse (note that the warehouse is based in China - this location is also suspicious). After several frustrating emails and me quoting their own policy back to them I was able to get a refund and have the subscription cancelled but honestly the entire situation felt very suspicious and like a scam for more money

The product was acceptable. My issue is the recurring $29.99 that was charged without my permission. The first month I reported it as fraud after providing my credit card company the original receipt. The second month I reported it as fraud again and pointed the card company to my first fraud report. A few days after that, I get an email saying: we have removed your subscription. So, if you are willing to handle it with your original receipt and credit card company, you don’t have to worry about canceling something you didn’t sign up for.

What a rip off, they add VIP package to the cart, telling you it’s $0.00, then one day down the line bomb $51 removed from your account for the VIP nothing they sold you without consent…. According to my bank it’s a regular thing for them… and the product itself… not worth the $15 I paid either…. It’s a $3 product sold out of China… total rip

You get nothing for the subscription. The subscription details are vague, the products is subpar and how the product is advertised is misleading. Because I would never purchase a subscription for a product of this nature. Also beware hard to cancel the subscription.

I would give this company a 0/5 star if I could.
Back in May I ordered two "100% Authentic African Exfoliating Net Sponge" as it was buy one get one free.
Firstly I had to chase delivery as it stated quick delivery but actually took weeks to turn up.
Secondly one product was completely different from the other. One being bouncy and stretchy and the other just a flat net on string. Also they came from China so not authentic.
I noticed in July that a payment around £25.00 for Afroscrub. Looking back they also took payment in June.
I contacted them to which they replied that I signed up for a subscription. I've been back a forth via email with them asking for a refund. They wanted to give me 20% courtesy back which I refused. I asked for proof that I signed up for a subscription. They sent me a picture of " Premium VIP support & early access to new product launches". I said that this does not say subscription and I could not find anything on there website that mentions subscription. I asked for proof that it states subscription on there website. Then then they offered a final 50% refund.
I also noticed that they have two different websites for the same products.

Honestly, don't go near this company

I ordered during a promotion on 4/15/25, 2 for 19. When received they came in a yellow envelope. When I opened it was just 2 purple nets in a plastic zip bag no labeling or anything on the bag as seen online. Emailed to state my disappointment in the product received.Received a general message back. May, June and July received charges on my credit card for $ 29.00 from the company. I disputed the charges and made an inquiries after I made a call no answer. Get a call back from the same 800 number and the clerk states I signed up for VIP services! NO I DIDN'T. Buyer BEWARE apparently when ordering a box is already checked for VIP please make sure you review your purchase before hitting send. I asked what was VIP services and the answer I received was you'll get notified when new products exist!!!??? My thought...I can see that on FB. I am NOT paying for a future notification! I still have NOT used them yet!

Their "premium vip support & early access to new product launches" shows as £0.00 but that is them signing you up to a £23.99 subscription which they will start charging a month after you order. They arent virtually impossible to get hold of as no response to emails. This makes getting a refund hard to get.
They are shipped from China so not authentic.

I have to give this product 1/5, only for the purpose of posting my suspicions about this product.

All of a sudden, I’ve been seeing this product advertised online, by this and other so called ‘African’ companies, when in fact they are more than likely the same scam company operating from China under different names. On seeing this, I immediately knew there was something suspicious going on.

I was 99.9% sure it was a scam, and the reviews l have read on here, and on other sites validated my suspicions.

I hope everyone who has been ripped off by this company, receive a FULL refund.

Put it this way, if they were an honest, legitimate company they wouldn’t sign people up for a ‘monthly subscription’, which is one of the complaints about this set up. Also, when it relates to refund, they would not hesitate to offer a FULL refund if they had nothing to hide.

The best advice l would give is check the reviews before buying online on as many review websites as you can, unless you know that they are a legitimate company, and not a bunch of thieving scammers.

If something suddenly starts to appear on line from various companies, the chances are it’s a SCAM!!

I was very happy with my purchase but was surprised to see a further payment come out of my account this month. When I contacted the company they advised that I had somehow inadvertently subscribed to their website!!!! I have asked for this subscription to be cancelled via email and via their website. I see from other reviews my experience is not isolated 🤔

I purchased 2 Afro scrubs one time and then they charged me $29.99 a month later and when I emailed them they said it was for a subscription to early access to product that I signed up for! I would never sign up for a monthly subscription just for early access. I would just buy the product when it comes out. This company are scammers! DON’T BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!

SCAM! **BUYER BEWARE!** As with most complaints, recurring fraudulent transactions of varying amounts starting at $52.86 up to $170. Almost $400 gone before we noticed. Reported to bank immediately, don't bother trying to cancel through seller. Product is ordinary too, nothing like advertised.

Product was fine a month after I was charged on my bank account again, when I complained was told it was a subscription which I did not sign up to . Said they will cancel subscription will not refund me my money. Will ask the bank to claim my money back.
There was no statement advising of an subscription charges £23 monthly will not buy from this company ever.

I ordered on July 3. It’s July 28 and still haven’t received my package even though their tracking says it was delivered.

I got the product and it seems to work fine but I was later charged a fee for a subscription. I never signed up for a subscription and was not notified of a subscription until I saw the charge and I called about it. I later got an email offering me a 20% gift certificate. However I want a full refund because I am 1000% sure I did not request to be charged a monthly fee. I would avoid making any purchase until they figure out who is fraudulently adding monthly fees to a one time purchase item. Now they want to offer me a 20% refund.
