Don’t do it! RUN!!
If I could give zero stars, I would! This is long, but please read. Purchased a Fiat, in January, which turned out to be the biggest mistake of my life!
I was charged £75 to have the car delivered, where I later found out, reading the ad on Auto Trader, that it was free delivery under 100 miles. The car was advertised as zero tax, yet it turned out it was £80 for six months.
On the day of delivery I had a phone call from Roman, telling me they were having problems with the car, so had to be checked over, before being delivering to me. In the end it was delivered the same day after a new battery was put in.
As it was late in the evening, I didn’t drive it until the next day, where I noticed the mileage flashing, so got advice from a mechanic who did a diagnostic test. He found numerous faults with the car.
I also spoke to a Fiat expert who told me the reason for the flashing mileage, being the Bluetooth module. Explaining it needed sorting as it will drain the battery, if left.
My phone calls and messages to Roman went unanswered for a week, where I finally got the excuse that he was on holiday. After being left unsatisfied with the excuses and promises to get it sorted, which would apparently take a month, as for some strange reason, the warranty had still not been sorted (by which time it would have been too late to reject the vehicle), I got onto the broker who took over and opened a complaint, on my behalf. I told them I planned to reject the car as it was obvious I would have nothing but problems.
The car battery, unsurprisingly, went flat after a week, on the day I planned to have it looked at by another mechanic. So I ended up having to call out a mobile mechanic, who again, did a diagnostic test and advised me to get rid.
I informed the broker and sent over the results. For the next two months the car sat outside my house, gathering dust as they refused to come collect it.
The broker told me they were having trouble contacting the dealer, so had to email, which took a week each time, to get a reply. I was informed they were deliberately delaying.
The car was finally collected mid March and told the car would be looked over and they would be in touch where I would be given a refund.
I then got the finance company involved, after hearing nothing after a couple of weeks, where I was advised to get in touch with the broker and see if the dealer is agreeing with an unwind.
After more excuses and trying to make out I put a lot of mileage on a vehicle I barely got a week out of… two months later, the unwind is finally complete and have been refunded.
Judging by other complains, those who dare to complain, I’m not the first person they have done this to. Reading the dealers unprofessional comments in reply to people who they have conned, is disgusting. So I won’t be surprised if they try the same to me. I’ll just edit this comment and give it right back.
These people should not be trading. I’m warning you all now, avoid at all costs!
