I was cautious of 1001hobbies.co.uk, I had not heard of them before and when I sort reviews it said the company was actually French and support was bad… However, our experience was completely different! I emailed about a product beforehand to ask if it was genuinely in-stock - it was a hard to find Loungefly bag - an got a reply promptly saying it was the last one - I decided to pay with PayPal in case it was not legit, but the order was processed fast, and communication was great and it shipped very quickly - within just a few days the bag was in my wife's hands - it was genuine and in perfect condition. We were very happy - the price was great and it had been impossible to find anywhere else. All round it was a perfect experience.

Terrible business and customer service.
I pre ordered an item I really wanted. This item is readily available online and in lots of shops for the past month, 1001hobbies aren't sending it out until October. How ridiculous is that!
I have asked for a refund, they are deducting 25% of my order to refund. The order was done online, the refund will be done digitally online, I'm cancelling because I can buy the item (for cheaper anyway) everywhere online and in shops.... FIVE MONTHS before this will be sent from 1001. Where do they get a 25% fee for being a terrible supplier and literally doing nothing? Ridiculous. Avoid!
Update inline with the reply, I'm already talking to their customer service, it's not a nice experience, they don't care, I was told 25% taken. And that email even bounces back as undeliverable. Appalling!

they look like a normal shop, but they use several "dark patterns" to secure your cash before they even have the product:
• The "Phantom Stock" Trick: They list thousands of items as "In Stock" (usually with a 1-2 week delivery estimate) that they do not actually possess. They are essentially a high-delay drop-shipper. By the time you realize the item isn't coming, they've had your money for weeks.
• The "Rolling Deadline" Loophole: When a delivery date passes, they automatically send a template email pushing it back by another month. They do this repeatedly to keep you in their system past the window where many banks allow easy chargebacks.
• The Predatory 25% Cancellation Fee: This is their most "scam-like" tactic. They claim in their terms that if you cancel a pre-order, they keep 25%. However, under EU law, this is often considered an "unfair contract term" if they haven't shipped the item or if they've missed the promised delivery date.
• The Geographical "Mask": By using dozens of local domains (.nl, .it, .co.uk, .be), they trick customers into thinking they are buying from a local shop with local return laws, when everything is actually funneled through their French entity.
Purchased a kit for a colleagues leaving present - paid extra for it to be double packaged.
Item arrived significantly damaged due to incredibly poor single packaging, let alone no double packaging. I paid for a service that wasn't rendered.
No answer to phone calls, or multiple emails. Non existent customer service.
Straightforward purchase without any issues at all, delivery was made, again without any issues at all.
Order was well packed and delivered as stated, all is well, thank you for a good product and purchase procesd, I will be looking at your site again
Wish I could rate them zero. Pre-ordered a gundam and it never arrived. This company is running a pre-order scam. They set the expected dispatch date 3-4 months ahead to disqualify buyers for cancellation/return/refund claims. Then, they indefinitely push the expected dispatch date forward. In reality, they never had the item I ordered in stock. AVOID!!! Save your money & choose a verified seller.
Items always despatched quickly and if an item has to be ordered in they keep you informed. The tracking keeps you informed where the items are in the journey from France. Vive La France!
dont see how this company is still around due to it being run so poorly place a order in march still has not arrived been assured i will still get but still nothing. tried to get a refund over a month ago nothing of course was assure i would have my money in my account within 14 days of course had to chase this up as it past the 14 days to then be told i would have to send in the bank details i wanted the money to be sent to as they dont keep any records on there system and was told it would only take a few days well nearly a month later and again had the chase them for my refund to be told its still being dealt with to then get a email today for my bank details again so i can get my refund ?
the admin and accounts department if they even exist are literaly degenerates or have severe learning difficulties and my conclusion as to why this company is still running is it robs there customers and dosnt give there money back. CLOWNS
