Overpriced photos for digital and printed photos. They used to do an option of photos for digital download and now trying to charge 12.99 per download ????
you only have to look at previous reviews to understand that they dont do anything about the reviews, what they do is increase the price further. The best thing that can happen is a sourcing a different company. It wont be long Wrates

Don't use these, school photos were awful,I couldn't order them on line because there website was playing up, I phones them for help they hang up on me, when I phoned them back she said she would put photos through for me, I live in Lincolnshire and she ask me if i was in Nottingham, then after I gave her my name she said my name was some one else, I told her to forget it there was no way i was giving her my bank details,
The school photo was awful, don't waste your money very poor and over priced

ridiculously overpriced and bad quality. struggling families should not be subjected to these high prices to get a school photo of their child.

Unbelievably expensive, they charge you 5 times what other professional photographers do. I can't believe it cost well over £50 for just THREE small photos!! They are only 10x7 inch, not big photos!!!! The photos are really poor quality too, they couldn't even be bothered to get a good shot, they obviously took one photo quickly and moved onto next child, instead of looking at the photo they took then redoing it, the photo is really bad!

Absolutely extortionate pricing!
I feel it's ethically and morally wrong to be charged £41.58 for 3 digital download images of my children!

Some people will simply not be able to afford the images of their children which they want to treasure.

awfully awfully priced, I adore the photos and couldn't even try to afford any!, its ridiculous the amount they charge, even for a download, £15.99, absolutely awful! I have never ever been able to afford my daughters school photos since she was born with the price they charge!!!!!!

I have 3 pictures from school, all really bad quality! They are so bright in all 3 photos, they look terrible. I was then horrified to go to their website to reluctantly order only to find the cheapest option is £11.99 per picture! Sorry kids you're going without this year, I'm not spending £36 on these poor poor pictures. Not happy.

Did not receive order costing £33.
Marked on website as being dispatched on 23rd March - Never Received and no update on tracking on website that it was ever delivered.
Contacted Wrates on their contact form - no response after 4 business days.
Contacted them by email - no response after 3 business days.
Tried contacting by phone (number is not actually on their website but was found on yell.com) - just kept ringing and no reply.
The only alternative I have is to raise a dispute with the bank.
Not nice as these are the last photos of my son before he leaves compulsory education.
They are happy to take the money but ignore requests for support when things go wrong.
USE TEMPEST IF POSSIBLE THEY ARE FAR BETTER FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Spent a huge amount on a engraved oak frame with photos, it cost 50% of entire order, photos arrived but no frame, they have been really unhelpful, not helping at all. Now they have my money they don't care.

Edit: 17/12/21 I had to open a PayPal claim to finally get help. Two weeks later I received my frame, they sent a cheap balsa wood frame with a oak stain on front and sides, but left the back original light balsa wood!!! I've been in timber industry for 30 years, I work in a sawmill making all these wood products, I know what oak weighs and looks like. They could have at least used pine but It isn't even pine as it's so light, it's like paper. I can't believe this company

I paid £11 for a 7x5 blurry picture which seems to be printed on regular office paper and badly chopped down to size.

Up until 2018 I loved the school photos by Wrates, both the individual and class ones and bought them every year. However last year and this year they are AWFUL! The individual photos are badly lit and have a terrible backdrop. My husband, who is not a photographer and does not have an expensive camera took a photo of my son in his school uniform and it is great. So how can a so-called professional photographer get it so wrong? Save yourself the money and do it yourself- you will end up with a much better photograph. I would have given them zero stars if I could...

Marvllous photos, proffcard came 3 days after they were taken and we ordered online that day 2 days later out photes came, super quick and super cheap

Over charging for photos! There will be single parent families who won’t be able to pay them prices. Rip off!!!

I am just disappointed at the expensive rates that this company charges for their school photos. They truly take advantage of parents who are trying to hold onto memories for their children at these important time points of their lives.
To add to it all, I ordered 2 photos which were 7x5 in size which cost me £8 each (£16 total) and then they charges me £4 for postage of 2 pictures (omg), that was then £20 in total. I could not believe they actually are allowed to get away with this... But as a parent, I find myself with no choice but to pay, this is so upsetting...
