DO NOT choose this clinic!

To whom it may concern;
I'd like to document my experience with Trident Primary Care. I became a patient at this clinic in December 2025. At that time and currently, I had/have United Healthcare Insurance. My health insurance plan has not changed since I became a patient. During my normal office visits, I was charged a $25 copay, which is the copay set by UHC. Today, March 12, 2026, I had a visit with my PCP and when I arrived to the clinic, I was told by Roderick (the owner of the clinic) that because I had a high deductible plan that I would have to pay $250, not my copay of $25 and that the previous front desk employee, Mackenzie, was fired due to not charging patients the full visit amount. Roderick also told me to call my insurance and that they would verify what he had told me. I stepped outside to call my insurance and validated that my cost for regular office visits are only supposed to be a $25 copay, because this appointment is covered by my insurance.  When I returned to the clinic, with UHC on the phone, to let Roderick know that I am only supposed to be paying $25, he then informed me that while his clinic is in network with UHC, he has decided to stop accepting UHC insurance because UHC "never pays him". I then asked him why I was not informed that his office had stopped taking my insurance as soon as that decision was made, instead of when I arrived at my appointment, and he did not have an answer for me. I also let him speak to the UHC representative that I had on the phone, and they also verified that I should only be paying $25, not the full cost of the visit. I then asked Roderick if I could have my full medical records and his response was "it costs" and he refused to print everything out for me and said he will send my medical records once my new PCP puts in a request. I find this to be very unethical and misleading. I believe that Roderick was just trying to get money out of myself and possibly other patients that don't know any better, which is extremely treacherous. I will NEVER be back to this clinic.

Patient Beware

Primary care physician is booked for a few weeks, so I found this practice through a Zocdoc search, looking for a specific specialty - they noted that specialty. When I arrived, the office presented a handful of different forms and many of them where not related to the visit, but were instead items they noted may be needed for future visits if they became my primary provider. The physician walked into the room and handed me a referral before they said hello. My BP, and temperature were noted on the visit summary although no one actually checked my BP or temperature, the assistant did listen to my heart and lungs but that was the extent of the interaction. The summary notes various allergy results, but no allergy tests were performed and the intake form simply asked if I was allergic to any medications.

Office billed initial visit to my insurance during which they acctually only provided a referral, and all of the noted procedures billed were not performed, and other routine measurements are included on the summary which were not performed (BP, temp, O2).

The office also billed a second visit for the following weekday, there was no additional visit, no interaction whatsoever (no call, no text, no email, etc.).

Opened incident with State Insurance Commisioners office and also notified insurance carrier.

Visited office on Friday (21st) after no returned contact from Trident Thursday, or Wednesday - met at the door by Robert/Roland (receptionist) who attempted to direct me out of the business, but noted he had submitted a revised claim to my carrier that morning. During the interaction he leaned in an was extremely hostile, what I was seeking was an appology and confirmation the billing would be corrected to only the services provided - instead the office manager stated "you want your $10 back", and then shouted a few zingers as I left the office retuning to my car. Today I learned that not only did Trident not correct any of the improper billing, but have billed a third follow up treatment for another day when I was not in their office. The office has now billed $650 for an allergy test they did not perform, but has also submitted bills for $1,050 for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday ( $3,150) for treatments it did not offer or perform for days I was not in the office, nor was I consulted about those treatments. Contacted carrier to investigate all claims from Trident for not only my experience but potentially other patients who may have experienced similar treatment from the receptionist and the office in-general.
