As far as I’m concerned, this is a site to be cautious about. My personal experience wasn’t what I expected. Communication felt somewhat coordinated and repetitive, and interactions didn’t seem very straightforward. It often came across as if the aim was to keep conversations going back and forth without much clarity.

I gave away one set of items through the site, but overall I was left feeling unsure about how things were being managed. I can’t say what the intentions are, and this is only my personal impression, but something about the experience didn’t sit quite right with me.

If you do decide to use the platform, I would suggest proceeding carefully and trusting your instincts. For me personally, I would choose to use alternatives such as Gumtree instead.

This is just my individual experience, and others may have different views, but I think it’s important to share so people can make informed decisions.

Very unhappy with Trash Nothing in comparison with Freegle, Gumtree or Nextdoor.
I have messaged people so many times and not even a reply.
Only once I got a reply and when I asked for a pick up time, she went silent and suddenly the item was gifted.
So very untrustworthy people on this site. Freegle, Nextdoor and Gumtree are much better.

Despicable nasty site full off narcissistic staff who dislike people who stand upto them. They do not respond to messages and do not put your adverts up. They act like children don't ever bother using this site absolutely disgusting.

Trashnothing are accepting first such despicable adverts such as one I saw earlier one of a dead fox in a black plastic bag.
I reported this to police and Trashnothing however no response from Trash they simply deleted off site.

Poor website functionality, including being unable to select which types of post you get in email notifications. I emailed a week ago asking about this, but no response. Website really needs work.
