Online booking system that is NOT an online booking system. You choose your date and then get a message implying that your booking made and simply awaiting confirmation, but no confirmation comes. You can't call to confirm because they don't answer the phone (30 mins on hold more than. once) and no message to the contrary arrives so one assumes that the booking made online stands.
But, when you get there they have no record of any booking and are generally clueless. They're nice enough and you cannot fault the customer service but the booking system is infuriating and they express no concern about this "booking" system

Ihave already left a review and shockingly it got worse.
My last review was Mar 2, 2026 (which despite their reply they weren’t interested in)
Now we need a new tyre which we booked in for but the garage couldn’t do because we has no wheel nut removal key, my husband asked about this when we got the car and was told we don’t need one!
So back to Toomey Citroen AGAIN to be told, basically, hard luck!! So as far as they’re concerned it’s fine to sell us a car without the correct equipment!!
It costs an extra £100 for the garage to take the wheel off without the key!

Having made a previous visit when I couldn't find what I was looking for I was contacted by Richard Pemberton. He suggested that I should come up and view some of the stock they had. I made a return visit on Friday and was greeted by Ben Hughes who showed me around one of the type of vehicles that I am interested in, I found him to be very knowledgeable and explained the features of the car. I look forward to a return visit in the very near future, thanks to both of you for your assistance. I shall be returning 🙂

I’ve had to call Toomey Citroen and Toomey Renault a few times for parts. Had to wait over 15 minutes nearly every time I’ve called. Whilst on hold it kept sending me back to the main options and asking me to choose an option again. You really need to sort out the time it takes to answer calls.

We had such a fantastic experience with the service department at Toomeys Basildon. We booked our new Citroen in for a recall. The booking process was very easy. Drop off and collection was also very easy. Courtesy car was clean and similar size to our current car. The service advisor Gio even moved my car seats back out of the courtesy car and into our car as it was raining so I could stay dry with my children. I can't tell you how grateful I was for that, he truly went the extra mile for us. Thank you Gio!!

Easy process from start to finish. Gio was extremely helpful in trying to find solutions to issues I had and kept me informed of progress throughout. Extremely happy with repairs and service received from booking process, the finding a suitable hire car and the work carried out.

Everything is great with Toomey MG

The service when we bought the car was lovely and all seemed well…
However then took well over a month to get the second key and just had an MOT just over 5 months since buying it and the car needs 2 new tyres!!! We’ve hardly done any miles since the purchase so really disappointed ☹️

I have had my fiat 600 from toomey Basildon for 4 months and it was just over a year old when purchased. It has been back to the service department numerous times for dashboard faults they get factory reset and they keep appearing back once this week and lasted under 24 hours and yes on again. One fault was serious a engine mounting bolt came loose resulting in the engine moving back and forth, and the RAC towed it back. Keep trying to get hold of them by phone is a joke and when eventually I got through promises of return calls dont happen. Worse motor group I have ever dealt with in my 51 years of driving.

Knowledgeable, helpful, experienced, couldn’t fault anything. Was greeted by Francis.whom was welcoming and all above. Who also helped me book my car in for a service without any issues. Would definitely recommend to all who own a Nissan.

Popped into the office today as needed help with my Peugeot window which has been broken for over a year . George helped me and was so helpful, managed to get it fixed in 10 mins. Should of come here earlier 😀

Both Gio and George were really helpful and made the whole process smooth from start to finish. Extremely professional & friendly. The additional car wash was a very welcomed bonus!
