I was given a 4200.00 quote for a standard 100ft wood dog eared fence by Cortez. This quote was the highest I received out of 6 companies. All Fence quoted 1590.00 but I dodged a bullet with them as well because the quality of their work is not good. Cortez had some good points but not enough to make me pay double for a wood fence that will look like every other fence in the neighborhood. I also had a 2200.00 quote and a 2600.00 quote last year. Superior qoute was the highest by far. The HOA will only allow wood dog eared fences, the fence will look just like everyone else’s, why would I pay double? Also after further investigation I see a lot of people had problems. Glad I declined.

We asked for Superior Fence and Rail at 2976 Lark Rd, Palm Springs, FL 33406 to come out and prepare a proposal. Our salesman came out and assured us we would receive everything we discussed. We did receive very good customer service until we signed the contract.
We found out on the day of installation that many of our customer services expectations were not received. The material was not cared for and delivered damaged on day of installation. Some gates appeared to be refurbished materials. Many scratches and damage occurred during the installation process. The installers did not use new hardware material to install the fence. One pole was removed from my driveway even though I was told it would stay. Now I have 2000 psi concrete as a patch in my driveway. One section was mismeasured, leaving a gap where an animal could easily escape.
All of these were concerns reported with pictures, either the day of installation or the next day. Sadly, I mostly ignored, even when I made repeated requests for a manager to reach out to me. There were 3 return trips to address my concerns. Yet I had to reach out to them so I could find out when they were going to be scheduled and be on property. After 2 months, my concerns were addressed in the cheapest way possible; thankful for some material preplacement but mostly disappointed with spray paint for powered coated materials. I was told to close the gap to be like the original fence was installed; it was going to be an upcharge of $500 for a 6-inch piece of mesh that would most likely be scrap material laying around the warehouse.
I learned the hard way that Superior Fence and Rail will only make decisions in the company’s best interest and not the customers. Be prepared to write every detail down or record the conversation if you want what is originally discussed. Be prepared for massive frustration, lack of communication and being ignored if you express your concerns about a good job happening on your property.

Superior Fence did a fabulous job installing a five-foot black chain link fence on my property. They were on time; worked incredibly hard in 100-degree weather and were all pleasant and professional. Cleaned up the yard impeccably when the job was completed. Kudos to Fortino Ortiz and his crew. We are so satisfied and highly recommend your company.

Signed contract on May 21, 2025 and made a required 50% downpayment at that time. The company has a dashboard that is supposed to show the job progress - the dashboard hasn't changed since signing the contract. When I've called about an installation date, I was told that they were waiting on permit approval from the city. The city has a website that showed the permit approval was completed the day after the application was submitted. The office manager said that she would call me back later that day, but never called me back.

No one from the company has ever contacted me to provide any updates.

After it was evident that they could no longer blame delays on waiting for the permit, I was told that they are waiting on materials, before they can get my job on the schedule.

I have had materials for other jobs that I've ordered from China after I signed the contract with Superior Fence that arrived in less than 2 weeks.

Miss Dig came out to mark my yard for underground utilities a couple of weeks ago, but the markings are almost gone, due to at least two lawn cuttings since that time. No one from Superior Fence called, nor was the dashboard updated, to let me know that Miss Dig had been contacted.

We can't make plans for a summer vacation, because we're afraid that the company will schedule the installation while we're out of town.

With so many companies going out of business currently, and the total lack of communication from "Superior" (ha, ha) Fence, we're afraid that we've made a huge downpayment to a company that's getting ready to close its doors.

Regardless of what they eventually install, if they ever do install anything, our family's summer has been ruined. We can't travel because we're waiting on installation, and we're very worried that we'll wind up in court with a bunch of other plantiffs, suing to have our downpayments returned from a company that has gone out of business.

The company website brags about being the nation's highest-rated fence company. My experience with them has been terrible.

I chose Superior Fencing because they were contracted with Home Depot, and while the initial quoting process was quick, everything that followed felt disjointed and poorly managed. Simon, who handled the quote, showed very little personality and came off a bit dry from the start—which, in hindsight, should’ve been an early sign of what to expect. Had I realized how fragmented the process would be—one team for tear-down, another for installation, and a third for staining—I would have gone with a different vendor.

At first, the fence looked great. But over the months, as I began to walk through my yard and view it more closely from different angles, the flaws became hard to ignore. The stain I paid extra for is already fading in several areas, despite the fence being just a little over a year old. Some nails were poorly placed, causing the wood to split, while others weren’t even driven into the correct part of the picket. Several boards are missing some of the required nails altogether, clearly indicating the crew wasn’t focused or attentive during installation.

I also noticed that many other reviews mention a post-project walkthrough with Simon—something I don’t recall receiving. He never came onsite during the project, even though he indicated he would. I’m not sure if only certain customers receive that level of follow-up, but it certainly didn’t happen in our case, which only adds to the inconsistency of the overall experience.

Given the lack of craftsmanship, poor follow-through, and the short 12-month warranty, I would not use this company again or recommend them to others. The finish and long-term quality simply don’t reflect the investment I made.

We had a small fence installed. Thje fence itself is decent. However, they made an initial appointment to install the fence the proceeded to change it 3 times. When they finally installed the fence, the were missing the latch for one of the gates and all the fence post caps. That took another 2 weeks for them to install. In the meantime, I had to find a bungi cord to hold the unlatched gate so it would not get damaged. Last, they left a mess with all the dirt from the post holes. They had no plan to get rid of the dirt they dug out. I had to clean that up after they were done.

Pros: If you are looking for a basic fence they do a great job.
Cons: Gates and customer service.
After rebuilding our gate multiple times we are still left with boards popping off, crooked cuts, holes from having to re-hang the gate and a second gate that's crooked and boards are splitting. Before the second "re-build" they did offer us $500 saying they didn't have anyone to rebuild the gates (because of all the layoffs), we let them know we couldn't even get a gate built for this...looking back we should have taken the money because the craftsmanship is nonexistent.
While this is extremely frustrating, the bigger issue is months of texts with Manuel, calls with Manuel and Donna, multiple workers Branden, Louis (who were then fired), brand new installer who spoke poorly of the company and having to "go back and fix" all their issues, then an email from Superior full of misinformation claiming we asked for things we never did and turned away crews which never happened. When we sent back all the texts proving the inaccuracy of their claims we never heard back. We're sure they will respond to this saying they did everything in their power to make us happy customers, but unfortunately that's not the case. So if you have a gate - we do not recommend using Superior, and if you have any issues with your build - good luck...we suggest not paying in full until the issue is fixed so you can get what you paid for.

Despite promises of amazing customer service and that they have the right fence it railing for me I got a message saying " we don't do small jobs" without any explanation of what a small job is

The company accels in fence installation. Perfectly straight and well built. Highly recommended for fences.

Driveway gates are another subject all together. Superior does NOT build their gates, they use a third-party fabricator that IMO, as an engineer, does not understand overhung loads. They say fences under 12' use 1/8" thick poles for support! This is wrong, maybe a 100 lb. 12' fence but NEVER a 350 lb. 10' fence. These fabricators have NO engineering sense what-so-ever.

They built the gate supports flimsy. The poles holding the 10' 350 lb. gates are made of 1/8" aluminum. A 40 MPH gust ripped the self-tapped screws out of the hinges. These poles should have been made out of 1/4" stainless and put in the ground a MIN of 3'. Instead, they put the poles a measly 2 ft. down and only used 6" dia. of cement. A MIN of 12" dia. cement should have been used. They said the wind was an "act of God" and would not warranty the damage.

So as an engineer that hand built my own house, I fixed what they should have done under warranty. I installed cross cable ties with turn buckles to hold the weight and eventually will add cement to the bases.

The cross ties are made of 1/4" stainless. Do it right or don't do it.
That is my motto. I just wish more companies would use this motto instead of do it as fast and cheap as possible to make more profit.

Superior Fence and Rail Gainesville can't follow contracts: They built us a fence that did not live up to many clauses in the contract and pre-installation checklist that was signed by me and the lead installer including: distance from the fence to the ground and which type of vertical supports were used (contract says 4x4s but they used 2x4s in some spots). The fence was so high off the ground in spots that my dog and cat could easily get under it, which they did. My cat escaped and was injured so badly that we had to take him to the hospital. Later he escaped and was hit by a car. In other places, the fence pickets are buried into the ground. The contract states that the fence would follow the contour of the ground.They also cut a buried private electrical line, which was unmarked. It was the line they were using to power their sawzalls. The installers didn't say anything about it and I found a live electrical line leaning against a tree. On the post-installation checklist, the installer checked off "All underground utilities, irrigation systems checked" even though they cut an underground utility line. They were unaware of Gainesville fencing ordinances and the need to get city approval for a fence in a historic district.

This is not even a complete list of what they messed up.
