Thanda tented camp is showing some signs of lack of attention to detail such as scuffed and worn paintwork. it all looks a bit tired. Game drives excellent, Food okay but nothing to write home about.
Fugitive’s Drift outstanding; would go again tomorrow.

Very personal service and a great team on the ground too - all the guides and the office staff sorting new bookings with monsoon cancellations etc. Would definitely use these guys again

The flights worked well, the hotels were not bad, one was lovely (Bukhara), the other would have pleased Donald Trump (Samarkand), all glitzy and huge chandeliers, but the staff were friendly. The guides were very good and prepared to change plans when we wanted to. Only issue was the train to and from Bukhara, on the way there we were in economy, on the way back in business class (why this difference?), also we were separated with one of us several coaches behind. But all in all a very successful trip.

We’re a couple from NZ who found Steppes Travel on Google. From the start Jim Davis and his team took the time and care to consider our expectations. A comprehensive mobile phone app was provided once our itinerary was finalised, which provided everything we needed and more.
Our guides at each stop were excellent as were our drivers, particularly one who was with us most of our journey, he was a very good driver, taking us over long distances, and was very considerate and caring.
We thought the itinerary Steppes Travel had set for us was what we had requested and appropriate.
Our time In Uzbekistan was thoroughly enjoyable and informative - we loved it.

Steppes managed to exceed our expectations from the choice of Hotels to the Guides who illuminated the trip from Cairo down to Aswan and then back up the Nile to Luxor. It was also a clever itinerary involving last minute arrangements and tight schedules. Once we arrived, there was nothing but calm, expert help and guidance throughout. They are a class above in the Travel sector in my view.

We have just come back from a trip to South America. The trip was amazing, great wildlife, scenery & accommodation. It was quite complex, but it was well organised & to a high standard.

Brilliant itinerary from Illona . Hotel at Vic Falls and the three safari camps were great and we saw everything we wanted to. Also interesting contrast between Okavango and Kalihari.

Steppes provides us with an adventure to be treasured. From the complex travel arrangements to the bush camps we stayed in all our expectations of Botswana were exceeded. The staff at the camps were truly amazing and the personal safari guides were outstanding.

Steppes travel curated and arranged the most incredible 'bucket list' family holiday for us. Every detail was considered, they went the extra mile and there was excellent communication.

The tour was incredible - one of the best I've ever been on. The guides were fantastic and passionate about their countries - it was very hard not to fall in love with Kyrg, Kazak and Uzbek. Steppes were good, a few teething problems, but if you're happy to go with the flow, I highly recommend them.

Roxy was amazing. She planned a wonderful trip for us. She was patient, creative with solutions, and had perfect recommendations. She thought of everything, down to a dinner at a very cute hotel before our late flight. The guides were great throughout the trip and all her recommendations were spot on. Steppes’s app is very useful. The team was always available and very quick to respond to any question or request. I would definitely recommend Steppes and would use them again. Great trip to Malawi, which ran smoothly and lived up to expectations. Chris Johnston provided great support in advance, listened to what we wanted and came up with plans to deliver the type of trip we wanted in a slightly off the track destination. Communications was rapid and clear throughout.
This was our second long-haul trip with Steppes and we came back both because of the quality of their service in preparing the trip, but also their local knowledge and the strong local partnerships they establish which means you have a good experience on the ground, with exceptional guiding and good accommodation.

The Alaska voyage with Paul Goldstein was one of the best photography expeditions I've been on. We were very lucky with the weather, and the crew and Paul worked hard to find us amazing sightings - bubble net feeding whales, bears and magnificent calving glaciers. The Bluewater Island Odyssey was the perfect small sailing boat to get us into ideal places for wildlife viewing. Brian was an outstanding and very knowledgeable captain and Lena was an amazing cook - all waistbands loosened by the end of our 10days. John and Theo were excellent at getting us sorted in zodiacs and getting us kayaking. I absolutely loved it and would go back again in a heartbeat.
