Excellent Service
I don't often post reviews but on this occasion I am compelled to say that our experience with Sliderobes has been EXCEPTIONAL. From our initial home appointment regarding design Rebecca was excellent and professional with great advice and suggestions. On the lead up to installation the Team kept us informed and updated on every step. On the day of installation, Ross, the fitter arrived on time and he was very personable, friendly and professional. Over the 2 days of installation Ross was exceptional in his trade, amazingly tidy, fantastic workmanship and absolutely no disruption in our home. He is a true asset to this company and we cannot speak highly enough about him. A+ First Class Service.

Fantastic Service in Belfast Store

Really disappointing service and…
Really disappointing service and problems with installation not fixed for months.
Design service was good and the lady who called out had good ideas but it all went downhill from there.
Install booked for two days in November 24, but the installer, who seemed to be a sub-contractor, wanted to finish in a day. He did a long day in fairness and was busy all day but the quality suffered. By late afternoon he realised he didn’t have the tool required to finish fittings on the desk so someone would have to come back in any event and he said this would happen in a few days.
Next day when I was cleaning up I noticed a chip in the veneer on the top of the desk. I also subsequently noticed a problem with the strip of veneer at the front of the desk along with another problem with the wood panel for the plugs under the desk and many of the screw caps were wrong colour.
I sent photos and they said there would be a delay returning as they needed to make a new desk top. I had other works starting in early December at my house so from health & safety perspective I said they couldn’t come in to the house until that finished. They booked to come back 19th December 24 but that was cancelled. I was told on the phone the fitters were booked up for months and they’d see when they could come which I thought was poor customer service given they hadn’t finished the job and the faults were with their work.
Roll on to the new year (2025) and there was no contact so I contacted them and on second attempt got a response and arrangements were made for a fitter to come.
He arrived with some filler to fix the damage to the veneer and was not aware of my expectation that a new desk top was to be fitted. He also wasn’t aware of other issues I had raised in November and had provided photos of and therefore couldn’t fix the panel for the plugs which had been installed upside down. He checked other things and tightened doors on a cupboard which was an improvement. Talking to him I was confident things would be fixed but frustrated at the poor communication, particularly given he was from Cork and wasn’t in Dublin every day.
Return visit 6th March 25 cancelled with less that 24 hrs notice by email. No phone call to explain why and just a reference to a fitter coming on the 14th March which clearly meant I wasn’t getting the same person coming back which was really disappointing.
Now rescheduled for 14th March 25 so I wait to see the final outcome. Four months after the initial fitting.
My main mistake seems to have been paying in full on the fitting day as I had no leverage with them after that. I paid in good faith thinking that, for prices charged (which are at the higher end for this type of work), work would be carried out to a high standard and service would be good.
I don’t think it’s too much to expect that people might prioritise fixing the problems they have caused and show a bit of courtesy by communicating information about what will be done and to manage expectations. I will never use this company again and I’ve got a carpenter to do other work for me. Thankfully, I didn’t book more work with them initially or it could be worse !!!
There is too much to explain the whole debacle...
There is too much to reasonably put here in detail so I will try to summarise:
- I implore you, please look elsewhere like Sharps, Hammonds, Wren or Howdens with a local fitter.
- It took just over 1 year to go from initial consultation to a finished install (that is still wrong and would require the whole wardrobe removing and trimming at this point to rectify. I've concluded I don't want any more hassle because it's wearing me out).
- Build quality is terrible. Materials feels cheap compared to competition. Thin wood (don't get me wrong, it's not Argos cheap).
- No less than 4 repair visits required due to negligence when fitting. *Deep breath*...Draws not aligned, draw fronts falling off, damage to panels, edging trim not applied, coloured in black with a Sharpee instead. Sliding doors binding. Draw carcass wrong from the factory requiring all runners to be re-drilled and mounted, excess glue on units and new carpet, hinged door not closing properly and finally...white adhesive tape used for black draw fronts on a black chest of draws which sticks out like a sore thumb.
- Communication poor, slow responses, no return to calls, the right person never being in the office and not being told of repair visits until they arrive on my door step.
- The complaints procedure on their website does not work. It goes to an email that no one monitors and my local branch were not even aware of.
- For the money I paid, I am very disappointed. The product is now at a point where I can accept it but if I could do it all over again I would select a different provider.
On a positive note, the fitters were polite.

Dont use them!
Having rated sliderobes installations highly I now regret having to warn potential customers that their after care is non existent. For more than six months I have been trying to get two minor adjustments to a large wardrobe I had installed last March. I have telephoned, emailed, sent letters to their UK offices and Dublin HQ with absolutely zilch result. I have given up now but recommend you dont use them.

Great from start to finish
I used Sliderobes Belfast - Rebecca made the process really easy and the follow up customer service and communication with Lee was great. I'm so happy with the workmanship and the fitters left the place clean and tidy. I didn't catch their names but the main installer really sounded like he was taking his time to teach and explain things to his coworker, I just thought it was really nice. The customer experience was great from start to finish.

A hassle free, pleasant experience
Getting Sliderobes to examine and replace old units was a pleasant experience and hassle-free. Having called out to examine old units we agreed to replace. Choosing a design was easy, with the range of options and the agent created a design very quickly and let me see what the finished product would look like. Removal of the old unit was arranged an d a date for the new one agreed.
On the day, the installer did a great job - was very neat and tidy, cleaning up after - I think it was cleaner than when he arrived!

Love our new wardrobes
We used sliderobes Nottingham and everything went great from design to installation. Absolutely love our new wardrobes, they look so smart and completely transform the room. Karen came out to measure and do the design, she was lovely and very helpful. We then changed our mind with the colour of the outer casing. They sorted this out and installation date wasn’t delayed. Very impressed.

Cannot fault
Cannot fault! Would highly recommend. From first design visit from Ryan to the final install the staff were great, communication was excellent and workmanship was excellent! The lads who installed were a credit to the company!

Installation was delayed twice
First of all the sales process was Excellent and I can’t fault the sales team in Belfast who were professional, helpful and patient. We ended up with a lovely design for 2 rooms. They arrived and fitted one room successfully before Christmas 2024 abut were unable to do the second install as the cabinets supplied from the factory were too large so a second install date was agreed for tomorrow Jan 9th. We got a call today at 3.30 pm telling us that “parts’ had not arrived and the next priority date we could get was the end of January. To say we were gutted is an understatement. And to say we have been prioritised when in truth we have been deprioritised is very dissapointing. We expected better.

First class experience
From the sales persons visit, through arranging installation date , rip out and installation, the process was smooth and communication clear.
Sam (installer) is the key person, rip out and installation were perfect. We were a trim short, but that was installed the week after. Its not the cheapest but made to fit and last, you get what you pay for!

Thoroughly recommended Company (Maidstone branch)
Overall a very good experience and my first time using them, but recommended by a friend. The whole process of initial phone call, Consultant's appointment, and visit to Maidstone Showroom, which is just fabulous and Mina there is an angel !!))
Installation was mixed. Two fitters, one very good (Matthew); arrived very early on the day and was quiet and polite and. just got on with it to my complete satisfaction. The second turned up late, boisterous and demanding a tea on arrival and put on music without any consideration for me. To add insult to injury he required three cups of tea through the visit, spent an hour talking to Matthew, who had of course finished and damaged the stair case walls as he rushed out at the end with his vacuum and tool box. I hope Sliderobes will speak with him about this poor behaviour as he is certainly NOT a good Ambassador for the company and I certainly wouldn't let him in my home again !!

I have recently had new wardrobe…
I have recently had new wardrobe mirrored sliding doors fitted to good existing interiors. From my initial enquiry and subsequent visits by designer, surveyor and fitter, the service has been excellent. Very nice gentlemen - good communication and good work done. I’m delighted. Everything from conception to…
Everything from conception to completion was straightforward. I was recommended Slide robes by a friend - placed a more info request online and was booked with with Pól for measurements and design. Everything was both easy and hassle free. Payment was split over 3 periods, deposit, booking installation date and lastly once the work was complete.

Awful service
Awful service. They only sent one man to collect my doors to change some glass panels when it obviously required two men. This was weeks in the planning and the guy didn't have a clue what he was supposed to be doing, not his fault personally as all the office appeared to have given him was my address. I was expected to help lift the doors out, down the stairs and out of my house. I was late for work and suffered loss of pay as a result. When complained to Sliderobes just got a snotty email back from Dublin office stating that I shouldn't have helped the guy and refused to compensate me in any way. I'm sure they'll be going bust soon enough if this is how they go about their business.
