The US end was worrisome. The palette was not treated with care and cosideration when delivered. The truck didnot have the correct size of forklift to handle the palette.

Great service, but expensive.

The guys came and packed things really quickly and well. They were very nice and took direction really well.

They also walk you through the forms you have to fill out really well.

The boat trip from London to LA took a while but I was able to track it using the vessel name and a random vessel tracking website.

Once it landed in LA, it was delivered safely in well packaged pallets to our driveway within a week. Overall experience was excellent.

Unethical pricing and manipulative practices

I would strongly advise against using this moving company. They initially provided a quote after being told the exact size of my storage unit and knowing precisely what items needed to be moved. Once they collected and packed everything - with full awareness of the volume and items involved - they suddenly doubled the price.

It’s an exploitative business model designed to profit from storage and delivery “adjustments” after the fact.

Completely dishonest and unprofessional. If you want transparency and peace of mind, choose another mover.

We were kept informed at all the stages. The guys that came and packed our goods were very friendly and helpful. On receiving our goods in New Zealand we found everything to be well packed and labeled. I would recommend 1st Move International to anyone thinking of sending anything overseas.

I was happy I chose 1st International for my move. It's not the biggest company so they charge less but they got the job done. The biggest issue will always be how good is the local agent as it is obviously difficult to manage things from the other side of the world. The local agents were great and everything arrived in good condition and in good time. Door to door service.

The movers were great packing and being organized, however the customer service misquoted several thousand dollars under the actual cost. In addition, the cost of the travel insurance for our goods was never mentioned and we incurred another several thousand dollar cost after they had already picked up our things. We were told the shipping would take 12-14 days and it took 6 weeks. Lastly, we were not given details about what was needed to receive our shipment regarding customs, which resulted in another 4 week delay because we didn’t have the correct forms in place.

1st Move International made the whole process of shipping my possessions from the UK to US a pleasant and easy experience. I had my belongings moved from the UK to the US. Great experience, very competent and professional team. I was not even in the UK to prepare the items for shipping. The team collected and packed everything has instructed, not a single item broke. Within a six weeks, everything was delivered right into my driveway.

I had a great experience with 1st Move International. Everything from my first call with Dave and Tom to my more day-to-day experience with Tessa was really pleasant. Obviously moving your personal items overseas can be anxiety-inducing, but 1st Move made the process very easy and low stress. We regularly spoke on the phone (everyone was super responsive) and the whole process was clearly laid out. I asked a lot of questions and every one of them was answered quickly, especially by Tessa. The items arrived with no damage within the window they told me - which is really everything you could ask for.

Although not our first international move this was the first time we shipped our household belongings. 1st Move exceeded my expectations! From sales through delivery everyone was polite and informative. I had read prior reviews and was careful to read the "fine print" so I knew what to expect.
