Went to see 'To Kill A Mockingbird' at the Lyceum last night (4/2/26). Awesome performances of a classic that is as topical today as the day it was written. Go see it

At 10:00 AM, I logged onto the website, making it to the front several times, only to be sent back repeatedly. Calling in for help led me through various prompts, ending with a message to try again later. This isn't the way to value loyal customers. Scheduling a specific time for bookings should ensure a smooth process, yet no tickets were secured in the end.

We visited Sheffield Crucible Theatre for the first time on Saturday 1st November to see Alison Steadman - Out of Character. My partner booked the tickets and we were sitting in Row A. It was fantastic seeing Alison in person and we enjoyed the performance, but the seats were appalling. We were initially excited on arrival to find we were sitting on the front row, as when my partner booked tickets he said that most of the seats had already gone and he seemed to remember that our tickets would have a restricted view. We were at the left hand side of the stage and you would have had to have been at the right hand side or in the centre to see Alison's face whilst she was talking. This wasn't the issue though. Due to the way the low level stage meets the front row, there is barely any room for members of the audience on Row A to put their feet down, or to get in and out of their seats. I literally just managed with my Size 7 shoes to sit with my feet facing forwards but they were tucked under me with no room whatsoever to stretch my legs. My partner has size 14 feet and had no choice but to rest his feet on the approximately 1ft high stage, otherwise he would have had to sit sideways in his seat so that he could fit his feet sideways on the ground. He was told off by staff for doing this. There was no room to put a drink or anything else down on the floor in front of us so we had to hold our drinks, coats etc in our hands, meaning we couldn't clap hands at all during the performance. Other people on the front row got told off by staff for putting their drinks down on the edge of the stage. We could only get into our seats by accessing them from the stage, as the people already sitting in our row would have had to vacate their seats and move to the aisle to let us in. This is not a normal theatre seating situation and these seats should not be sold when the stage is in use. Anyone elderly or infirm would really struggle to get in and out of the front row seats. We were only in the seats for around 1.5 hrs in total but suffered the consequences later overnight, with cramp and pain in our hips, legs and feet from such restrictive seating. The final insult was that a pint of lager cost £7 and became warm very quickly through not being able to put it down at all.

It would also be really beneficial if the theatre published more detail regarding the performance and approximate end times as well as the start time, as we had booked late train tickets back home, not realising that the performance would only last approximately an hour, as it was followed by a book signing. Not sure we will be returning anytime soon based on our disappointing initial experience.

The city hall and Lyceum have always been amazing but the tickets for sheffield arena are absolutely disgraceful the customer service when you have to ring is horrendous i have never experienced anything like it
i have tried now 3 times for different events you on hold for that long then a lady cones on telling you to hold them after 5 minutes cuts you off.
i know things happen but for this to happen at 3 consecutive times for different things it is shocking.

So, why one star??
Because, we were hurdled out the theatre by two aggressive female middle aged women, who really ought to have more awareness manners and professionalism
After all, I we, were at a beautiful performance so enjoyable, but, potentially spoiled by these two untrained individuals
However, the performance was amazing from the cast, we were blown away
Take note Sheffield Theatres, by all means stick, to procedures but remember it’s the theatres and not a football ground mentality .
Another suggestion more equal opportunities for black ethnic minorities groups stewards roles etc.
Interpersonal skills speaks volumes

On the website this am at 10.00 & I was getting to near the front Four times and still put back. Tried to ring and after listening to the prompts it then informed to call back.
This is not how to treat genuine customers. What is the point of allowing us to book at a set time to not be able to deal efficiently! No tickets booked now!

We went to see A Dolls House at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield this evening. The play was brilliant with an innovative set and great performances from the small cast, especially Siena Kelly as Nora.
What made the evening extra special though was that we booked the 3 course dinner in the Crucible Kitchen before the show. Great value for 3 courses plus a drink. They e mail the menu a couple of days before so that you can choose in advance. This means your food is ready just after you arrive and there seems to be plenty of time to eat before the play. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Friendly staff and quick service.
This is the second time we have booked the dinner and we will certainly do it again. Would definitely recommend.
