Not good

Ordered 2 lots of dahlias. One lot arrived were all damaged and unviable. A replacement was promised but has not arrived. No sign of the other dahlias sixteen days after ordering. Can’t get anywhere with the AI enquiries. Terrible!

Poor plants, bad timing and email chatbots

I placed a big order which was due to arrive at the end of May. The plants were cheaper than other online suppliers and for me the timing was good as I’m redoing my whole garden rather slowly.

However I received an email saying the plants were on their way MUCH sooner and without pre-warning (6 weeks sooner). I emailed straight back and their email chatbot responded telling me I couldn’t alter timing etc.

The quality of the plants is poor and it looks like the plants have only just been potted up to the size being supplied so there is a lot of pot for very little plant.

I am SO disappointed- I feel I have wasted my money and I shall struggle to keep the plants alive long enough to plant them.

I cannot recommend investing your money with Sarah Raven.

Plants ordered February- delivered a…

Plants ordered February- delivered a week ago, having allegedly been out for delivery 2 weeks prior to that. The packing box was crumpled and had patently been “fixed” by courier. Plants inside were dead and it looked as though the box had been thrown around / played football with. Reported to Sarah Raven. Since then not much has happened.

Looking forward to my new plants, wanted to go for the cottage garden look, instead of bedding plants. Can’t wait for them to arrive

Two orders made - same dreadful service and frustration with the company.

Two orders made, the first for seeds on 15/3/26, delivery scheduled for end March/early April. Now delivery scheduled for 18/4/26, over a month after order. Second order for two planters made on 5/4/26, delivery said within 3 days. Now on 14/4/26 "Evri has parcel" but Sarah Raven AI assistant cannot give definite delivery date. Conclusion - however visually appealing and beguiling a website Sarah Raven sets out, this inaccurate delivery information, insufficient AI customer service and my frustration means I will never shop with her again and will advise all my gardening friends not to do so either.

Ordered seeds on April 3rd

Ordered seeds on April 3rd. Expected delivery time within 7 days. Now see they are not due to be delivered before end of the month. I understand that plants may be subject to growing conditions and seasonal availability but seeds ?

I would have put 0 stars if I could

I would have put 0 stars if I could. Ordered two pits of seeds end March. Website said delivered early April. Mid April one pkt arrived.No info on my account. No phone number, no email. Have to talk to a bot who then raises a ‘ticket’ if it can’t answer your question. Appalling customer service. It was just 2 pkts of seeds from gardening retailer. What’s so hard!

Misleading commercial practices

Do not purchase from Sarah Raven. They advertise that items will be dispatched within 5 working days. 4 weeks later and I am being told my items will be delivered next week! This is false and misleading advertising. They clearly are unable to meet their promises on their website as 4 weeks later I am still being told they are unable to deliver within 5 working days. Providing false delivery dates to induce purchases is a breach of consumer protection law in the UK, particularly with the new, enhanced powers of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (DMCCA). The CMA considers these actions a form of "misleading action" or "unfair commercial practice" that distorts consumer behaviour. This company is operating an illegal practice to keep itself in profit to the huge detriment of customers. Waiting 5 weeks for seeds can make a big difference in missing the planting season. From the reviews I am not the only person suffering from Sarah Raven's misleading practices. Do not order from this company.

Gone downhill since financial problems.

Last year they had to replace several Dahlia tubers so I should have learned my lesson and not ordered their plants again.
THIS year they have changed the delivery dates of my order 3 times delaying by a further 3 weeks the planned help i need at the moment as leg in plaster. Now have to pay someone to plant. The digitalis arrives on Saturday. Three were squashed and damaged so I’m expecting a refund but since their financial problems they have gone downhill. Pity I can’t put pictures on Trustpilot site.

Where plants are ordered weeks or months in advance, there can be unexpected delays, in this case around 7-10 days. We are sorry for this delay and for any inconvenience.

No advice or information…

My order of a collection of Ranunculus claws arrived when they should and were carefully packed. However, there were no planting or care advice included.
There was nothing on the website and neither was there any information in Sarah's book Grow your own cut flowers. The only information I could get was from a chat bot. There doesn't appear to be a telephone number for customer service either.
I can't comment on the quality of the flowers as I am yet to plant them.

There was no quibble when I contacted customer services regarding a plant that had not grown. The refund came almost immediately with an apology which is lacking from some other on-line stores. I have had plants before from Sarah Raven and certainly the dahlia's have been very good quality.
