LET DOWN BY LETTING SERVICE
Very disappointed by the letting service. Visited a property that had mud all over the front door, a beeping smoke alarm and no washer connection in the kitchen, The last one being a deal breaker. It would have been nice if they had told us from the start.
Well someone is being very economic with the truth.
I took my sister in law, aged 80, to see the property on 3 separate occasions over 2 weeks and the condition of the front door and alarm was the same on each occasion. One of the reasons we pulled out was because the neighbours said there had been frequent fights outside with young lads and the tenant. The front door had been left like that after the last set to several months ago when last occupied.
We were told there was a washer connection in the cupboard which is why a 3rd visit had to be arranged but we were misled. My sister in law was asked if she “couldn’t just use the laundrette like the last tenant”
If the agent took as much care over the property at 1 Minster Court as they did over the HOMELET report to ensure my sister in law could afford it I wouldn’t be writing this report.
Presenting a property like this shows a distinct lack of care on the part of the landlord and agent. Shame you cannot accept your got it wrong on this occasion.

Having reviewed the points raised, it is important to provide some context and clarification.
The smoke alarm was simply alerting that the battery required replacement. This is routine maintenance and would have been attended to and fully resolved prior to any tenancy commencing, in line with safety and compliance obligations.
With regard to the condition of the front door, properties can experience minor, temporary cosmetic issues between visits, particularly during periods of poor weather or contractor access. These are not reflective of the condition a property is handed over in at move-in stage.
In respect of the washing machine connection, this was not raised or noted during your viewing. Where specific requirements are highlighted, these can be clarified or solutions explored; however, it is not possible to address concerns that have not been brought to our attention. The previous tenant occupied the property without issue in this regard.
While it is, of course, your prerogative to decide whether a property is suitable, the matters referenced are operational or easily remedied items rather than fundamental defects. As such, the characterisation of the viewing experience appears somewhat disproportionate to the issues identified.
All feedback is nevertheless recorded for internal review, and we’ll pass back to the Landlord.

Simply the Best
I recently used Robinsons Estate Agents in Crook and the service was absolutely amazing. All of the staff were friendly, professional, and incredibly efficient throughout the entire process.

Stressful experience softened by Shelagh and her team
Awful experience in general with it being a purchase of a repossession open to gazumping, but it is what it is and Shelagh and her team made it feel as less of a daunting experience as they could.
Estate agents are often the enemy in these situations but my partner and I didn't feel this way.
We managed to win the property and were very happy with the whole process and information given.
Robinsons allowed multiple viewings often last minute.
Great communication and always at the end of an email or phone call.

Robinsons Durham Sale and Purchase
We recently used Robinsons in Durham for sale of our old house and they were the agent for purchase of the new one. Selling with Robinsons
We sold our house using Robinsons. Michael came out to value our property and was respectful and professional the whole time. We dealt mostly with Michelle and Chelsea afterwards who were so friendly and professional.
They took fantastic photos of the house arrange viewings at times convenient for both ourselves and viewers and dealt directly with our solicitors to keep our buyers in the loop. Would 100% recomend Robinsons Chester le street the team are brilliant.

Superb Service from Two Different Offices
We used Robinsons Durham to sell our property and the whole process was absolutley flawless. We were constantly kept up to date by Keighley who made sure the process was pain free.
We then used Robinsons Chester-le Street for our purchase and the team were fantastic to deal with. Michael, Chelsea and Michelle were extremely helpful but Shelagh for me was the star, guiding us through choppy waters when calmness was required. An excellent team and would definitely recommend.
