A bit of clarity is required on this one.

This is the initial email sent to us from the customer,

Hi

I received the below order but it wasn’t the colour I ordered. Also the quality is terrible.

I have an exact same model and it is so much better.

Is this a fake?

Unfortunately my colleague was in the shop when it arrived and threw away the is packaging.

I’ve attached a picture of the existing pink one I have with the label it printed and the new one you sent me. As you can see they are worlds apart.

Can you let me know what has happened or I will go directly to MoTex to complain about this.



Our response to the queries, note that where the customer mentions they are 'Worlds Apart' but offers no suggestions as to what this actaully means, as such we were left to view the images and make assumptions based on the differences we could see and answer them accordingly.

No problem, I would have preferred to speak to you directly to address your concerns, especially the question regarding the authenticity of the product.

So the first point I will address is you query regards the authentic nature of the gun supplied, I can categorically say that the product sent is 100% a genuine Motex product, we are one of only a couple of authorized resellers of Motex products in the UK and have been importing their products directly from the factory for over 20 years and have a certificate of authority from them (available to be viewed if desired), to summarise, we do not, never have and never will sell counterfeit goods.

In regards the colour, unfortunately at the time we were out of stock of the silver gun ordered, a note was enclosed with the order explaining this as the reason for the Cream and not the Silver being sent (I assume this was thrown away with the packaging at the time of delivery), whenever we come across an issue such as this we do try and get in touch with the customer by phone to explain the situation, however if we are unable to do so before the courier comes to collect we simply send the replacement with a note of explanation, rather than holding the order, just in case the customer is in need of the item the next day as that is what our delivery service states ‘Next Working Day’.

As for the two images being ‘Worlds Apart’, the two things I notice are -

Firstly, the label shape, this is because when the guns come out of the factory in South Korea they are loaded with straight edge labels (the common label shape in Asia), whereas in the Pink gun you have a wavy edge label (the common label shape in Europe), both labels are in reality the same size, just the shape difference.

And secondly, the font size, this is most likely due to the model, although the two guns are Motex 2612 guns, the Cream one is a 2612/6 (6 digit gun – larger font), whereas the Pink one is most likely a 2612/9 (9 digit gun, smaller font), having said this I cannot see the order on our system for the Pink one so cannot 100% state it is a 9 band, but from the font size I would suggest this is the case.

Other than the two points above and the colour I can see no other difference in the two guns, but please do let me know if I have missed something.

As a side note we also tried to call the customer as soon as the initilal email came in (referenced in paragraph one in our reply), but had to leave a VMM, we then followed up with an email and asked for a call back to discuss, but got a reply saying they preferred to communicate via email.

For further clarity, nothing contained with our response breaches GDPR rules.
