Deceptive Sales Practices & Altered Paperwork

Avoid This Dealership – Deceptive Sales Practices & Altered Paperwork

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Prestige Motor Company and their manager, Scott Singh. I purchased a vehicle that was advertised through the dealership on Auto Trader, only to later discover that Scott altered the paperwork to falsely claim it was a “private sale”—a clear attempt to dodge consumer protection laws.

After buying the car, I took it to a mechanic within two weeks and found multiple serious, undisclosed faults, including an engine oil leak, intermittent boost issues, and worn suspension components. Scott had assured me in writing (WhatsApp message) that there were no other issues, which was clearly false.

When I confronted them, Scott refused to take responsibility, despite clear evidence that the sale was handled through the dealership, making them legally liable. The paperwork was even backdated, which raises serious legal concerns.

🚨 If you are considering buying from this dealership, be extremely cautious, or even better DO NOT DEAL with these unpleasant unprofessionals. 🚨 They misrepresented the condition of the car, altered documents, and refused to take accountability. I am now pursuing legal action and filing complaints with Trading Standards, the DVLA, and the Financial Ombudsman.

A trustworthy dealership stands by its sales and doesn’t try to deceive customers with shady paperwork changes after the fact. Learn from my experience—avoid Prestige Motor Company at all costs for your own mental wellbeing and financial wellbeing.

Worst of the worst, avoid at all costs

Worst of the worst, avoid like the plague. They sold me a clocked car with loads of issues. Refusing to refund me even though I rejected in first 30 days and provided evidence the car had over 100k miles deducted from odometer. They ignore emails and don't return calls, they also avoided me when I directly visited office (the manager snook out and went home whilst they had me waiting in an office to talk to him). Seriously, just go elsewhere or be prepared to get intimately knowledgeable on consumer law and the small claims process. Avoid like the plague

Terrible company.

Terrible company.

Sold me a car with a fuel leak and other issues after their adverts stated was a good car and a great runner. Took it back to them twice and they made the leak worse, and refused to honour the consumer credit laws in regards to rejecting a vehicle.

Having to now go through credit card company to get money back. Complete scammy company.

Best advice: go somewhere else

I bought a Qashqai from them. The first problem was they couldn't locate the second key but said it was no problem, they'd find it. Of course they didn't. It took endless chasing to finally get them to provide a new second remote (mine is a keyless system), but eventually their "key man" came to my house to do the job. It could & should have been much less hassle.
The second problem was the air-con which I discovered didn't blow cold. No problem sais the sales guy. Bring it in & we'll re-gas it. After driving 25 miles to their premises, they said "oh we can't re-gas this type, we don't have the kit. Eventually they agreed If I found a local garage who could do the job they would pay for the work. Of course when I gave them the quote (after much chasing around to find someone with the right kit), they started cribbing about the cost. Finally, after more arguing, they replaced a faulty condenser & I got the system regassed. It took weeks to get this sorted.
Best advice is to avoid them as they clearly don't like fixing faults, but if you are still tempted, you just have to stand your ground and presevere to get a result.

My **WORST** car buying experience ever!

These guys are masters of deception, so beware if you choose them.

We bought a £7000 car that they offered to deliver to us, we were told by their 'sales guy', Andy, that it was in immaculate condition. I asked for extra photos of anything that would be notable so I could be sure, and was told there was no need it was fantastic, with nothing notable.

We live 6.5 hrs drive away in the highlands of Scotland, so we agreed to meet halfway in Glasgow. When the car arrived, it was in appalling condition, even to the point the foot-well was all ripped apart, along with multiple scratches in the bodywork!!! On top of that the mileage was 4000 miles over what was advertised!

We had driven 3.5 hrs to get there, and so had the poor delivery guy, who was forced to wait around while we tried to come to an agreement. They eventually said they would give us an extended warranty for the mess-up, and pay for someone to come out to and fix all the problems so it was 'hassle-free' for us. After taking over 3 hours to get this agreement emailed to us, so we had it in writing, we proceeded with the sale.

Upon driving back and over the next week, we noticed more things that were wrong. We were told that the car had been given a full service, so when the engine started stuttering we took it to our local garage to get it checked, and the mechanic said the fuel filter was choked up and needed changing! So yet more lies were revealed.

After contacting them again, complaining about this next problem, Prestige Motors assured us they would get ALL these things sorted, but a few days later decided it was too expensive for them to pay a 3rd party to do the repair and wanted to do it themselves. They said they would send someone up the next week to collect the car. But surprise, surprise, it did not happen.

Over the next 2 months, we had to call them several times a week, as their 'after-sales' guy, Alastair, who although very amicable on the phone, would never call us back to agree to any dates, we were always stone walled with "I have to speak to management first"

So we spent 2 months driving around a choked up car in a Scottish winter, as they outright refused to pay £50 for it to go to our local garage to have the fuel filter changed, and kept saying that someone would be up next week to collect it. After 2 months passed, and the car going into limp mode twice, we were left with no choice other than to drive it down to them upon the agreement that our time and travel expenses would be covered as it saved them paying someone to come up twice (once to collect and another to deliver the repaired car)

We went down, and the repairs were all done except one, and then, WE WERE DECEIVED AGAIN!!! They went back on their word yet again, and said they would not pay for anything other than giving us £45 towards fuel to get back home, as in their opinion, they had gone 'above and beyond' in doing the repairs!!!!!??? ..... I was utterly astounded! And yet again the mangers were non- contactable.

I am lost for words at how mean spirited and deceptive these people are... they are masters of stone-walling and hiding behind one another... not once during these 2 months have we been allowed to speak to a manager even though we have asked several times.

All I can say, if you decide to buy a car off these guys, make damn sure it really is perfect, so that you don't require their customer service, as it's likely that you'll find yourself shafted every which way possible.

Really you only have to read through the number of 1 star reviews on google to see that these guys are actually high-powered scam artists, who manage to get your money before you know you've been had, and then prolong any promise to make right until you eventually give up.... however we have opened a case with Trading Standards who are looking into this now, and have been told it's not the first complaint they have received about this company.
