Used PJCars last Saturday , the driver was on time to the minute , very friendly and talkative , the car was spotless and clean , would recommend.

SHOCKING. AVOID at all cost. Careless driver was rude, vaping and on his phone while driving and driving over the speed limit. NEVER AGAIN.

Price is reasonable and probably one of the cheapest in Derby and is why myself and my partner use them. Most of the taxi drivers are great and range from being quiet and polite to be talkative and really friendly.

We always prebook taxis for a specific time with plenty of time ahead for them to incorporate in their runs etc.
There's been a few good times when it comes to a few minutes before our time and they've yet to despatch a car, either myself or my good lady will call the control room to give them a nudge and to ask for an ETA. And what I got this morning was a really bad attitude from the get go. And so did my partner when she called them up to ask for an ETA as it was late had yet to be dispatched. I understand and respect that they're very busy with staff off because of Eid.. and I can also understand that patience wears thin at that time of morning, but if you can't manage the work load then just be honest and say you're looking at about 15-30 minutes delay, that way we can arrange an alternative way if needs be.
This morning the chap on the line spoke over me and my partner, lied about times and made us feel like we were wasting his time.. he spouted sarcasm about planes and trains being a few minutes delayed.. which was weird.. actually got our backs up so much we both snapped back which is rare for the both of us. Just wanted some communication and honesty.

So bottom line, I think when it comes down to it, you get what you pay for. If you're in a rush without wiggle room for lateness then either order it a good half hour before you actually need it, even more for holidays, or just go elsewhere if you don't want the stress or anxiety. No excuse for poor customer service. No one is asking for special treatment just a level of communication and respect that works both ways.
Luckily for us, that wasn't our first experience with PJ cars, and can vouch that if it were, it would be the last. The others in the control room are good- there's a lady there that's very direct, matter of fact and helpful and there's a gentleman who my partner assumes is in management if not then boss as calls usually tend to go through to him if the person we're speaking to at first is unsure.. and he's an absolute diamond! Again, very direct and honest with times and a great communicator, which is all we as customers need to know to save us from being anxious and worrying about being late.

My partner tried to call the taxi firm not too long ago to talk about this mornings issue but the person put the phone down on her mid sentence. Again, it could be because they're busy. So we'll just let it slide. But needed to voice this mornings issue.. so it's resorted to on here.

Have used PJ for many years now with no problems. Driver always courteous and welcoming. Used them several times in recent weeks and always provide a great service.

Had a very good experience using them for drop off and pick up from Birmingham airport. On time for drop off and automated service provided over the phone for communicating taxi on pick up was excellent. Plus £10 voucher made them very competitive. Will definitely use in the future.

This company does not even deserve the one star I’ve given them they are appalling rude unprofessional they made my daughter pay for a taxi cost which was already pre-booked and paid and they totally belittled her and made her cry. She’s 17 years old. The company just does not care.
He locked the door of the cab and made a pay on her phone which I’d already paid for the service so do not touch this company. They’re horrible.

Absolutely vile company ignorant don't understand English vile vile rude never agine wonted to charge me extra for putting something in his boot ???? And the smell of B.O. was awful dirty car don't book with this nasty company

Car was 25 minutes late for a important hospital appointment. Called office they couldn’t care less. Was waiting outside with my 90 year old father. I booked taxi hours before when I complained they cut my off!

Wouldn’t even give it 1 bad star!! Never turned up to a booking and we missed our train!! Never answered the phone either. BAD BAD BAD!!

Happy with how early they arrive to bookings so never late. The odd driver make me feel very uncomfortable but this is the exception to the rule. Unfortunately I was charged on my card for a taxi ride when I paid cash because the system was down. I called up about this and they said I won't be charged but I was so I'm down about a fiver. Taxi man at the time tried to make me pay the fare directly to his personal bank account (he was one of the ones that made me feel very uncomfortable I actually ended the ride early and walked).

Whenever I get cut-up by a taxi, it is one of these -they usually wave cheerily when I object, too. This is dangerous and amateurish and I prefer to be driven by someone who doesn`t drive in such a poor manner.
