The new save limit is ridiculous. I've been using Pixlr since 2014 or earlier, and its sole appeal is that it's marketed as a free editor. Having 2 saves a day makes it unable to do any mass editing (or any editing at all).

For a program that has been free for as long as I can remember. Making us pay for saves without warning is the stupidest thing I've ever seen now I can't even access my stuff and since Pixlr only exports a .pxz I can't transfer them so I'm screwed now.

I've been using Pixlr for, I'd say more than a year. I've loved it so far- I used it simply for cropping photos when I started with Pixlr X, and now I've moved onto Pixlr E to do more advanced stuff. It has almost all the things that larger brands like photoshop has, while being usable by the public.
HOWEVER, when I logged in and noticed that I had only two daily saves, I was disappointed to say the least. It was a fantastic website, but to ruin it by essentially saying "If you want to mass-edit photos you need to pay us" is so disappointing. I wouldn't recommend using it unless they get rid of this holdback.

I have used Pixlr for a long time and was more than happy with it. In fact, I understand they may not be able to keep their website & service up in the air while charging nothing. However, working on a project and then realizing you are suddenly now in an update which only allowes 2 saves per day is just very weird and not costumer friendly at all. Why not use a pop-up to give some explenaition & warn your users? Very off-putting.

2 saves per day? come on now how am i even suppost to check if my things look good or anythign? what if im working on multiple projects in a day? what if i save and keep on working on the same one because i forgot something? the new stupid update had no consideration to the people usign the platform and it will most likely get less uses cause no one wants to spend money on an editor that was free. i get it, it cost money to run and stuff but i need freedom!!!!!!! Shaking my head!!!!!! i used to use it everyday but now i can only use it once or twice. just another one of those crappy editors now

What is this "two saves a day" nonsense now? An artist can't even work without saving work regularly. Now it will be virtually impossible to finish any work.

So, you want money now, eh? Sorry, but this artist doesn't have money to spare.

Also very frustrated. Messaged on facebook to get an auto 'we don't have time for you response'.

Like the previous reviewer, I think that if you are going to unleash major changes you need to give more warning to avoid complete disengagement from users. A more gradual rollout, like 5 free saves a day for a couple of months would have been better. Then a warning on the site that things would be changing soon then the 2 free saves a day. A drip, drip approach avoids completely alienating people who have been used to a better level of free service.

2 free saves and you have to pay with zero warning is a bit over the top.

I totally understand the need to charge as nothing comes for free and websites cost money to run. I have no problem paying a reasonable fee, but as someone in the UK I don't want to sign up to pay in Euros as this may cost me more with my bank. Can't you offer an option to sign up in pounds as otherwise you are basically locking UK users out and turning them off completely.

Also when I tried resaving and saving as webp, it all messed up today...

In the meantime thankfully I've found and switched over to Photopea. I would be happy to pay to use Pixlr if you fix the above, otherwise I won't be engaging with it unless no other options

Pixlr is a great website, although today OUT OF NOWHERE pixlr randomly started costing money and using it free only lets you save up to 2 times which was never the case. Why did this suddenly happen even though yesterday it was still all free without having to buy a subscribtion.

Very easy to use site with little to no bugs at all. Great for easy editing for simple tasks, fully on browser so I dont have to install any apps. Very useful would reccomend.

Didn’t work when I signed up for the trial very hard to cancel customer support no help but attempts to keep your money regardless. worked for all of maybe ten minutes before it stopped loading on my MacBook and then didn’t work again. The editor stopped loading entirely. I contacted customer support after having spent 4 hours attempting to figure out how to do so only to learn that they do not care about anything other than keeping peoples money. I did not want the membership I had only wanted to try out the software and ended up getting charged because it was not clear how to cancel this. They refused to assist and instead told me to keep using the service (that didn’t work to begin with) until the end of the billing cycle I never wanted to be in to begin with.

This website sucks and my whole project glitched out, it kept erasing everything even when using other tools and i couldn't undo it.

good for compression and basic editing.
only really use it to add simple texts and to compress artworks for social media. it works well.

any complex editing is done better and more effective in adobe programs or free alternatives.

When I try to edit something you error me with a text that reads: Aw, snap! Beware of this when you have errors!

I had signed up for trial and used only for couple of days. I wasn’t aware that reoccurring payment was activated and I have been charged for following month. I am paying for a service which I don’t use, ask for refund but they said NO :-(

Very buggy website. Sometimes I copy a layer, and try to paste it into a new project, and it'll copy the background image instead. Sometimes when you're making something, it will just completely disappear. I like that it's free, but it's too buggy, and I lost all of my work from it.

I edit a lot of photos as a social media influencer and Pixlr was great initially but as time went on, the ads became more and more, so much that it takes too long and too much of your time to work. You get an ad for changing from one tool to another...
Also it has many glitches! I often come to save a photo that I have made or edited and at times it has taken me a long time and no matter with what extension I save it the photo is distorted. I have now reached my limit, it's now starting to cause damage to my work as I feel the photo is saved well and post to only later realize I have to delete all posts and repost....if I miss triple checking even once I am in a mess.
You also now have to pay for the better font.
Way too stressful and not worth it anymore for the quality it has.
