Nationwide is the WORST. I’ve been with them for 5 years then they ask me to update my card for my autopay, which I do, then they don’t back charge it and cancel my policy!! Then when I try to get it back they charge me more and my pet went without coverage for a few months before I noticed!! Awful, shady practices. I will NEVER use them again.

Nationwide is always easy to use, whether it is to add a pet to the policy for coverage or to submit a claim for an existing pet, everything is straightforward and simple to navigate.

User friendly and easy to understand the process and information

They refuse to pay out for anything, citing the most ridiculous claims of previous conditions. 6 months ago we said our cat was a bit wobbly and apparently that means his cancer 6 months later was a historic condition. Absolute filth of a company who have done precisely zero that they promised to do.

I’ve been paying premiums for years. My pets are over 15 years old. They limit everything. Absolutely not worth it.

I have carried a policy with Nationwide for decades, and had been very satisfied. Recently, my dog suffered a complicated illness, involving 3 separate life threatening diagnosis. The bill for his treatment was $22,000. Nationwide covered $8000. They listed one primary diagnosis, everything else was paid out as a secondary diagnosis, which greatly reduced the payout. I appealed to them to review and pay as multiple primary diagnosis. That was rejected.
I am fortunate enough to be able to pay the $14,000, but many could not and they would be let down by Nationwide, facing a very difficult decision about what to do to save their pet.
