Walked into the salon in portlaoise and looked for an apt. Was told there was none and they would take my name if a cancelation came in. I did get a call back and i raced back to make it. Was brought in sat down very little consult. Told her i wanted a good cut with layers for curly hair. Cut was done and it didnt appear to bad. Was put under a dry for less than 10 minutes was told i was done and charged 60 euro. The cut was lopsided. Hair was still dripping wet and i was being shoved out the door. Had to go to another salon to get it fixed appalling service would never return
Worst “curly blow-dry” ever
Worst “curly blow-dry” ever. Stylist didn’t even introduce herself. Just started doing my hair. Left twice mid styling to answer her phone and I don’t even know, without saying a word to me. Hair was straight before I had even left the square. €40 to have to redo my hair at home before my party.

Insulting and Rude staff
I booked a cut and blow dry as I had been going to Peter Mark for over a year after a salon disaster elsewhere. The lady I had been seeing in Peter Mark had been so kind and helpful and a great stylist. She understood the upset and anxiety a bad experience can have and the time it takes to regrow not just hair but confidence too. So unfortunately, this particular lady moved on and I got a new stylist.. The new stylist did a consultation of what I expected from my cut. I tried to explained to her I am growing out my hair and tried to explain about the previous hair disaster and how the lady whom had moved on from Peter Mark had been helping she said she didn't need to hear that. I felt she actually did so she could understand my position. I told her that I was growing out the top as there was a lot of damage and growing out of the ends. At one point she even asked who is the person I am speak of ,is that your daughter when I was trying to explain my hair to her and how the Peter Mark previous stylist had a plan with my hair She asked how I usually wear my hair and I said up. She said yeah but when you're going out and I replied up. She asked a third time and I said up! She was utterly condescending and a poor listener. She has no concept or empathy for my hair situation. She asked me if I was going anywhere nice the usual blah blah from an old style hairdresser and I replied an agri show which she really didn't seem to like, she voiced how she went once but had no interest and some guy she was dating took her. I explained to her my daughter volunteers at a facility for disabled kids helping them ride horses and that was the reason we were interested in the agri show. She said oh god I couldn't work with "disableds"! can you believe that comment. I sat there and went inwards.she proceeded to tell me how she was selling her house because it is surrounded by cows and farmers. Back to my hair style. She told me she was going to cut it but check it at the end. She proceeded to cut the top which I am growing out :( and then trim the ends. She then burned my head twice with the dryer. She downed tools without saying a word went to another client did a full consultation and came back to me 10 minutes later no apology. She finished drying my hair which I asked for straight but was not straight it was curled inwards at the end and showed me what a mighty fine job she did with the mirror, I expressed my underwhelmed feeling and that I didn't like my hair because it was damaged and growing out. I put my hair back up because that's how I wear it and she scoffed oh you're putting it up. She never checked my hair cut as she said she would because I don't think she was very interested. Over all I spent 110 euro at Peter Mark that day - on my hair and my daughters (she was with another stylist). What the ignorant stylist never realised is she should keep her nasty little comments to herself as both me and my daughter are "disableds" and it is very hurtful to have ableist people like her looking down her snotty nose and speaking of people with disabilities as if we are something on a Petri dish in a lab! Both my daughter and I won't be returning to Peter Mark

I went to the Peter Mark in Waterford and I was treated amazingly!
I went there on my sister's advice as after she explained the situation with me (I'm starting chemo soon) and needed my hair shaved back...
I went in today Tuesday 12th and my hair was cut by Fiona. She was super professional and as I had never had my hair shaved like this, trusted her completely to work on me. She made me feel confident and cut my hair until I felt ok with the results..
After washing and drying what was left...she then told me no payment was needed!
The Manager was awesome too and was curious about what happened. I was happy to explain and we parted ways with a hug..
I will recommend this branch to everyone I know because of just how professional and kind these ppl were..
I can't say I'm dissatisfied
I can't say I'm dissatisfied, I'm simply furious! I spent an entire day driving miles to the best stylist so far. My hair isn't cut as usual.. I have at least a year left for it to grow back and I can return to the hairstyle I like and feel good in. When I complained that something wasn't right, the hairdresser was dismissive. Never again.(Dundrum!!!)

I've been a customer of the Newry salon for years and always been delighted with the service, I'm so sad it's closed! However my review today is about the Dundalk salon.
My usual stylist moved to the Lisburn salon, and before my first appointment with her at that location, they asked for an updated skin patch test as we'd be using some new products.
I came to Dundalk for this as it's closer to home, and the staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant.
They called the Lisburn salon to check exactly which products were needed to be tested so that nothing was missed or duplicated, and were so informative and friendly. Really professional service even though I'm not technically their client! I was very happy.

Traumatic
Had an appointment yesterday for a cut and blow dry. I explained to the stylist Ali that i would like a a funky kinda hairstyle. My hair was well below my shoulder and i specified that i wanted the length to stay at my shoulders. Ali suggested layers and i liked the idea of a long mullet style. Well i got neither of those hairstyles. My hair had no shape, it was extremely short, it looked like i had a nest on the top of my head. I actually started to cry and to shake. A granny wouldn’t have a hairstyle like it. Ali got another member of staff to try sort it out but unless she was gonna stick my hair back on there was no fixing it. She proceeded to cut more hair to try shape it but it didn’t help. I got up and the lady in reception apologised once again and said there was no charge. I never seen Ali after this which was very unprofessional. An apology would have had been nice. I had to go elsewhere to try get some shape into my hair and now i look like a man. I’m still crying and my anxiety is through the roof. The thought of going to work is making me sick. I’m absolutely disgusted that this happened to me and to be honest a sorry and no charge is not good enough.

Scott was absolutely fantastic, he made sure he understood what I wanted to get done. He cut and styled my hair exactly how I wanted it. He’s also a lovely guy, would highly recommend booking in with Scott in Wilton.

Please do not go here. I had the worst experience in this salon and was left in tears. I attended for a semi-permanent dye and cut. I requested an all over brunette colour (and showed photos of my hair previously dyed that colour in the same salon and gave the dates to check the colours used at that time) and explicitly stated no red undertones, following a previous dye which washed out to a distinctive red hue. The hairstylist initially dyed my hair bright red and realised her mistake as she re-dyed my hair without me asking. Following the second hair dye, I went outside where in the natural day light it was blatantly obvious that the roots of my hair were red whilst the ends were black. My hair was not even washed properly as it was greasy and very obvious that there was shampoo left in my hair. When I explained how unhappy I was the workers were extremely rude and dismissive with the hair-stylist stating ‘I did my job’. Following this another hair stylist dyed my hair for a third time and achieved the colour I wanted, but unfortunately this washed out to the red undertones after 2-3 washes. I will never return to a Peter Mark salon and for €150 (for which no refund was offered) I think it was an appalling service.

Girl who did was nice but it was not worth €55. I was not asked what I wanted, went to hairdresser as not I’m very good at styling my own hair but could have done as good myself. Living on past reputation maybe or just not really bothered if you are not local and won’t be coming back. If you gave an event locally, go somewhere else that will be more bothered and less money.

Extremely disappointing experience at…
Extremely disappointing experience at the Blanchardstown salon. I went in to go blonde from brown and was told it was achievable by Gabby. During the process, my hair began steaming, and chunks broke off. I left with uneven colour, damaged hair, and a rushed cut. I was told this would be fixed in a month. After I went back, Gabby told me she doesn't feel comfortable to do anything to my hair, and that she lost sleep over the situation.
A second hairdresser confirmed my hair is severely damaged, can't be dyed at all for now, and will need to be cut short to remove the worst of it. I'll have to wait months before it's even safe to try colouring again and that's not guaranteed. The second hairdresser dresser said my hair condition is like chewing gum, and that parts are bleached beyond return.
Essentially I will need to cut my long hair and grow it all out again, this will take many months if not years.
The situation was handled very poorly, with no real support offered afterward. I wouldn't recommend this salon. I have now emailed their customer support for further help.
Excellent knowledge
Had a super wavy blow dry this morning with Lauren in forestside branch. Lauren was friendly and courteous, she did it exactly how I wanted it and it was so relaxing too. She makes a great cup of tea too!

Sadhbh is excellent.
Sadhbh is amazing in the salon in Killarney , Scott's Garden . She's so friendly to begin with which makes her a pleasure to be around but she is excellent at cutting and colour. She listens to exactly what you want and takes the time to understand your goal. She will give you her opinion which is so helpful as she won't steer you wrong. I was so nervous about my first time colouring my hair and I got a balayage. She was dead on as I really didn't want to do a full colour but wanted to hide some of the pesky greys. I have brown hair and I was so uncertain.
I'm happy to say that I've been going to Sadhbh for over a year now and I always come out happy.
She topped it up over the weekend and it's absolutely perfect, the blend and the depth is all there !
I would definitely recommend her especially if you are on the hunt for a reliable senior stylist and colourist.
I guarantee you won't be sorry.

I won't mention names or even which Galway salon I went to but the first time I got my hair cut 3 months ago I was very happy but this time the same stylist cut my hair way too short and it's terrible. It sticks up all over the place after I sleep on it and I won't ever be going back there. So p***ed off and annoyed.
