Beware fraud!!

I was given a sheet after a free brake check with my tyres that stated that my rear brake discs and pads were below the legal limit, that my front discs were close.
The quote for all the work was £929.36.
I nearly cancelled a holiday I was worried.
However, the car had passed an MOT 3 weeks earlier with an independent garage and there were no advisories on the brakes so I booked in for after my trip and bought the parts myself.
An independent garage took the wheels off and checked, only the front brake pads were changed and they weren't even urgent. The rear brakes pads were certified as perfect, not close to any advisory limit and did not need changing.
Thanks to honest mechanics I have returned the unused parts and only spent £70.

Someone else who is vulnerable or doesn't have reliable sources to check would have paid nearly £1000 for things that didn't need doing.

Booked my car in for service on my rear disc caliper offside. The assessment mechanic stated the car needed a new caliper and brake disk also brake pads, the car had new rear disks fitted 1 month prior at a different garage. I questioned the need for a new brake disk, the technician claimed the disk was blue due to overheating. The quote was over £700 i asked for the hourly rate for labour to which they said we dont work on hourly rates. I had the work done at another reputable garage half the cost £350 i asked about the disk and was told the disk was fine no damage whatsoever.

As always having new tyres fitted at national tyres the service is very courteous and professional,I would certainly recommend them.

I liked the option To spread the cost but had a appointment booked in for 4pm and wasn’t seen till 17:30 huge wait time just to have 1 tyre changed and there was only a couple of people waiting at any one time while Iwss there

Easy to book, time that suits me. I think the system to book reminder for next MOT should be after booking this one, not asking before I have booked.

It was my first time i have ordered on line but it was good and help is a hand if needed

Took my car into the Widnes garage today as I'd noticed my engine splash guard had come loose. They took the car no problem and took them around an hour to get it sorted, whilst working around other customers. They fixed the issue without fuss and for no charge. Great service all round! Thanks lads.
