Inspiring
Inspiring, structured, and comprehensive, friendly coaching is how I would describe Ben and his team’s approach to cycle coaching.
I have had many cycling adventures, both on and off the roads, single and multi day events. My approach to a cycle training plan has always been, put as many hours as possible in and go hard or go home. Fuelling rides, na… it’s about losing weight right, so you’re lighter for ‘that’ event. This all came to a head when I decided to do the Marmotte in 2023. I made it round, but I was broken 😞 even though I had put loads of hours in on the bike. I didn’t get on a bike for six months afterwards and I was exhausted. I also had a nagging feeling that I just didn’t train right for it. That’s when the YouTube search started and MCC popped up. I watched a lot of the content Ben put out…but I was still sceptical 🤨. I arranged a call with Ben, it’s at this point I signed up for two goals the Mallorca 312 (it has been on the bucket list) and then the Marmotte V2.
I’ve just completed the 312 and I am super happy with my time of 12hrs 20 (course time 13hrs 27). Yes, I felt tired at the end … it’s a long tough ride… but the next day I felt good, the day after I went for a 60k pedal.
The coaching is exceptional and is structured to your life. I have learnt a huge amount about fuelling rides, while still losing weight, something I genuinely didn’t think was possible. I was 101kg when I started, now 89kg (6 months) my FTP was 218w now 278w (3/4months). Although the numbers are great, my biggest transformation has been, you don’t need to ride hard all the time, rest is super important and listen to your body!! (I’m 54). Both Dean and Cam worked the training around my business commitments and a holiday while Mario kept an eye on the data. I really feel that what MCC offer is the complete package.
If you really want to improve your cycling, feel better in yourself and achieve cycling goals that may feel out of reach, MCC is the coaching team you want around you.
I’m already fired up for the next eight weeks of training, getting me ready for the Marmotte V2.
