Dream car to nightmare car


Giving one star feels generous based on my experience.

Following a non-fault accident, the handling of my claim by this insurer was extremely poor. I was instructed to proceed with repairs, only to then face ongoing delays, contradictory positions, and a refusal to resolve payment for those repairs.

Communication was disjointed and unclear, with information being passed between the insurer, broker, and third-party claims handlers rather than dealt with directly. Key decisions were delayed, and explanations were either inconsistent or absent altogether.

As a result, my repaired vehicle was left detained by the garage while I experienced significant financial hardship and loss of income.

Contacting the insurer directly proved extremely difficult, and correspondence was often slow or indirect. The experience fell far short of what I would expect from a professional or specialist insurer.

I would strongly urge anyone considering this company to research claims-handling experiences carefully. If your vehicle is important to you, and you rely on it for work or daily life, this is not an experience I would wish on anyone.

Horrible customer service from Darren

Horrible customer service from Darren. He was incredibly unprofessional and unhelpful. I would never recommend to my friends and family. I had a horrendous experience with Mulsanne. Very slow service and do not communicate well with other companies. As a result, left me without access to car for months which meant that I could not work. Would not recommend under any circumstance.

I was hit by a drunk driver who was arrested on the spot and is insured by this scam of a company they tried to deny it was him driving to start with which is a totally joke as he was the only person in his car and there is a police report to prove it, it has been nearly 2 years since this happened and my solicitor is still fighting with them for compensation. I would 100% avoid this company they are a disgrace of a company and should not be allowed to operate as a business

Avoid!!! They know how to play with rules

My insurance company and me not being paid since 17th August 2021 so make sure you to bring your evidence that you paid me in full as you said in your Defendant statement to set aside judgement

£1500 excess scammers

Takes your money instantly then says it can take upto 30 days for a refund . Yeh right such a scam of a company they wait until the 30th day . I'm on day 26 and nothing as of yet.
Also they offer stupid prices £1500 excess just shocking when all other companies its less than 500 pounds . Im so glad I went with haven insurance instead this company can go swivel .

I do note that excess is quoted prior to policy purchase so you would have accepted this in order to proceed with the policy.

Shocking company

I would give 0 stars if I could my husband and son where sitting stationary in a car park in the car back in 29th July 2022 where one of your insured drivers ran in to my car not once but twice trying to park their car causing damage to my car and giving my younger son a fright and cause him travel anxiety this was all caught on my back dashcam so definitely not disputing who was at fault it was the driver who was insured with yourself you have been slow to reply to my insurers at the times legal team and they are now taking action you say your not responsible for the drivers you insure maybe so but you have a responsibility to make sure that those you insure are in any type of accident etc that you respond efficiently and professionally and you follow the law as that's your job that's what you are paid for not leaving people high and dry

All comprehensive insurance policies include policy terms and exclusions. As confirmed, damage caused by electrical faults, breakdowns or malfunctions, is a standard market exclusion and is not exclusive to Mulsanne Insurance. The exclusion is clearly detailed in the policy wording.

Scam insurance

Even one star is too much for them. This is the most fraudulent insurance company I’ve ever dealt with. They lure you in with a cheap initial quote, then start charging you extra for all kinds of made-up reasons. They make the process so frustrating that you feel forced to cancel — and when you do, they charge you a hefty cancellation fee. Either way, you end up losing money. I do not recommend this company to anyone

Incompetence beyond belief

I can only repeat what I said about its associate Boom.
This company and its associates (Boom an Key Claims) are behaving beyond anything I have ever seen or even heard of. We have been waiting for a payment following an accident early January. After reminding them several times we have received a letter saying the payment had been initiated and we should receive it in the next five days. Three days later , without any explanation, we are advised that the payment has been stopped. This is the second time we have a horrible experience with Boom, Mulsanne and co.
See their answer. This is totally unacceptable. You do not send an official letter confirming the settlememt and cancel this settlement 3 days later. What investigation? This process has been dragging on for months.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Don’t even deserve 1 star quite frankly.
Asked me to contact the 3rd party insurance at fault who told me it was strange for them to ask - which I knew anyway but wanted it in black and white.
Making me claim on my insurance for a non fault accident - want me to pay the rest of my insurance with this premium leaving me with almost nothing. This was never mentioned to me until I recieved the letter about claiming.
Avoid! They are a con!
Should be struck off.

If you have chosen to make a claim on your own policy then the policy terms apply, which include your excess and premium being payable, as you cannot make a claim on a policy that hasn't been paid for. Alternatively, if the other insurer accept liability/ fault, you can make your claim directly with them instead, but I'm afraid we are unable to do this for you as we can only handle claims on your/ our policy.

Waiting for my claims More than one…

Waiting for my claims More than one month . If you have last option to go with mulssane insurance don't go . Really annoying insurance company .
My car rear windscreen glass was broken and I called to insurance and they forwarded my query to auto glass and told me that auto glass will fix it . And I got a email and call from auto glass and they booked my appointment date as well. And they said they contact me after clarification with my insurance company. Then after 3 days I got a call from auto glass and they said your insurance not covered for windscreen. Because of emergency and my kids I have to fixed with other paid services. And I checked my documents of insurance for very corrections. And it's fully covered.
So I called to insurance company and told whatever happened and they said just claim on email id with your invoice. I already send email one month ago still no action or reply . Very bad experience with this company

Very unhelpful when you're the innocent party

Very unlucky if you're hit by one of their policy holders. My insurance have had to start legal proceedings to get their money back. Reading the comments and from personal experience it does seem as though they insure degenerates.

Worst Insurance Company Ever

I was hit by one of their policyholder. After 415 days of received poor communication, received bullying, and received lack of professionism all by Mulsanne Insurance Company I took them to court and won everything. An absolute joke of an insurance company who should be ashamed of their practice. I'm now working on a case study to have investigators review this organisation. Good luck.

Mulsanne replied (Aimee 10-MAR-25) under my original review stating that they couldn't find my case. They are very funny and obviously trying to hide their downfalls. Good luck Mulsanne.

Accident on 02.01.2023 and claim still not settled

Reference 2022132982

I was involved in a car accident in France with a vehicle insured by Mulsanne Insurance Company. The accident was caused by their policyholder, who initially stepped out of his car to assess the damage but then immediately got back in and fled the scene. I have provided video evidence of his escape, along with other supporting documentation.

As I am based in Germany, I engaged Van Ameyde, an international claims management company, to handle the communication with Mulsanne Insurance on my behalf. However, despite two years having passed, I have yet to receive any substantial update or official statement regarding my claim. Van Ameyde has informed me that Mulsanne Insurance is extremely slow in responding to their emails.

I have also attempted to contact Mulsanne directly on 24.01.2025 through their contact number for whicch i had to pay per minute along with charges for international call. Furthermore, after waiting on hold for over 40 minutes, I was simply told that my claim is still under review.

This prolonged delay is unacceptable. I have now formally requested an official statement regarding my claim. If I do not receive a response soon, I will have no choice but to take legal action in England.

I am also addressing this message to Aimee, as I have seen that she actively responds to customer reviews and forwards issues to the claims department. Aimee, I kindly request that you provide me with the latest update on my claim at your earliest convenience.

Avoid like the plague

Hit by a driver insured through these people back in august 24, I was parked at the time, we saw it happen & spoke to the driver after.
Mulsanne were slow to respond to my inurance company but did eventually admit liability. Im yet to get my excess back, have emailed with no response, sat on hold for hours on a premium rate number, been hung up on & am still out of pocket nearly 6m later. Shocking company !

Absolutely appalling company!

Absolutely appalling company!

They thoroughly deserve all the negative reviews and complaints on Trustpilot.

They and their associated companies Boom (the Broker and Key Claim (the Claims Management company) are majority owned by Mulsanne Insurance (the Underwriter) and all 3 have incredibly negative reviews.

They are all failing to abide by FCA rules and guidelines in properly handling claims.

Policy Number : 0085923

Took car insurance out through Boom in November 2023.

My car was stolen whilst visiting friends in Cardiff on 24th November 2024, coincidentally just before my cover period ended, and Key Claims and the police were immediately informed.

On 5th December, as requested, the keys to my car and all requested documents were hand delivered by me to the Key Claims office in Tarporley, Cheshire and they effectively took possession of the car at that time.

On the 8th December 2024 I was advised by Swansea police that my car had been found after having been fitted with false plates and had been involved in 'several' accidents.

On 9th December 2024 I informed Key Claims that the car had been recovered and passed on the full details from Swansea police so that they could recover the car and carry out a full damage assessment and progress my claim.

I contacted the Swansea police compound on 27th January 2025 and the car is still there and to their knowledge no-one has made any attempt to inspect the car some 7/8 weeks after it was reported to Key Claims.

I have demanded immediate settlement of my claim and compensation for the distress, inconvenience and lack of professionalism they have demonstrated throughout the claims process and will be complaining to the Insurance Ombudsman / making a private legal claim on this matter.

Despite threats to take the above action Key Claims have failed to respond in any way to my last 3 emails.

Avoid at all costs as well as Boom and Key Claims!
