We know it can be tricky when it comes to pricing retro icons. As a trade company, we’re always upfront that we can’t offer the top-end private sale prices — but we do our best to make up for it with speed, ease, and peace of mind. We completely understand this doesn’t suit everyone, and that’s okay.
On the texts — our buying team checks in to keep potential sellers updated on quotes and see if they’d like to go ahead. We get that this can feel frustrating if you’re not looking to sell, and we remove people from our system as soon as we’re told. Do not trust a word from them
They set the appointment to the try to low ball you on the spot to have your bike for chips. The quote they give you is not what you going to get.
Obviously depends on inspection in person.
But when a bloke tries to tell you your bike probably has been in an unrecorded accident because cast aluminium piece’s on the bike are bent which they weren’t and FYI cast doesn’t bend its cracks and breaks tells you everything you need to know.
Incompetent to say the least.

Thanks for the colourful review — although not quite as colourful as the panels on the bike we later saw listed on Facebook Marketplace under the name Budget Cars 👀
Usually, the quote our buying team gives over the phone matches what we pay — provided the bike shows up as described. Unfortunately, when our collection team arrived, they were greeted with what looked like a late-night DIY paint experiment. Naturally, that affects the final valuation — as any genuine trader would understand.
We appreciate that traders such as yourself are always hunting for a margin — so are we. But leaving a one-star review while flipping the same bike (with a respray that looked like it was done in the dark) feels a bit rich.
We had a look, and there’s no sign of Budget Cars being a registered business — just a Facebook alias. That’s fine, of course, but if you’re going to criticise our valuation process, transparency should go both ways.
We value all feedback — even when it comes with a splash of overspray. If you ever fancy a more straightforward deal (with matching panels), you know where to find us 😉

Sarah contacted me & I uploaded photographs, we negotiated a price for my two Suzuki Van Van’s. Within 24 hrs a collection was arranged. Simon came to my home, paperwork soon done, money transferred into my bank a/c within minutes. Bikes loaded, shook hands with Simon & off went my two bikes I have owned for past 15 years.

You’re absolutely right—trade prices are usually lower than private sale prices. That’s just how the motor trade rolls.
We took a good look at your case, and honestly, asking top money for a 125cc scooter with more miles than most family cars is always going to be a hard sell—for us or any other buyer.
That said, if someone does offer you what you’re after—grab it with both hands and send them our way, we’d love to meet them!

Aaron came today as arranged. Lovely bloke, very knowledgeable as you would expect. Knew all about my bike. Turned out to be an American import and had had a respray. Had to drop a little on the price, but very happy with the transaction.

Great, quick service, very knowledgeable
From the first enquiry they were straight shooting and realistic with me, no sugar coating just straight to the point and honest about price etc.
James on the phone was helpful as my first point of contact, and Aaron (Scouse) who collected the bikes was exceptional, helpful, understanding and fair. He even waited patiently while we ensured funds had cleared into our account. Fantastic experience start to finish. A joy to deal with. Highly recommended.

Waste of time and patience.
Filled out the enquiry form online and sent photos.
Then had to repeat the process when someone got in contact a few days later.
Low offer but that's to be expected.
My issue is, I answered all their questions but when it came to my questions, they were ignored or hours later I would get, I'll have to get back to you.
I asked confirmation on collection for two consecutive days with no joy and on the day that I ask due to my availability, I get a call asking would the following day be okay.
Apparently their drivers have been trying to contact me, phone calls, texts but no reply.
Lies. No one had contacted me via phone, text or email.

I've looked into your case thoroughly, and while we're genuinely sorry for the lack of clear communication and the inconvenience caused, we want to be upfront: there wasn’t much more we could’ve done differently in this situation.
We aim to collect all bikes within 48 hours of agreement. However, with lower-value scooters like yours, it’s not economically viable to send a driver on a dedicated route. We always wait for a planned route that passes through your area — which is exactly what we were doing. It’s not perfect, we know, but it’s how we keep things efficient and fair for all our customers.
When Sarah called to arrange a collection for Friday, we were more than happy to work around your schedule. Unfortunately, you declined without offering an alternative time, which makes it a bit tricky to help.
We’re always open to finding solutions, but it takes two to make it work.

Contacted Motortradeteam to try and get shut of my bike that i didn't have the time or money to get back on the road, the only down side that i had was if being picky they were a bit slow in returning any messages (only dealt with via messaging) they did reply saying that they were interested in buying my bike and requested photos which were sent and they returned with an offer which i excepted and date for collection arranged.
The driver called Steve turned up early as i informed them i had to go out by a certain time, he was very friendly and was more than happy to talk in general with me and i didn't feel rushed or pressured at any time, all paper work was dealt with there and then and money was handed over to me at the agreed price.
All straight forward and stress free.
Cheers Steve for a relaxed and stress free exchange a credit to your boss.
Would honestly recommend them at any time.
