I have been a customer for many years. In my dealings with Midwest I have NEVER had a problem. Once in many orders I received a broken Jar. I called customer service and it was easily replaced. Products are top notch and always perform as sold. I will not buy anywhere else. I will be a customer for life. Thank You for the service, great products, and quick turn arounds.

Fast shipping! - I'm very impressed with the Midwest Company for a few reasons. Most importantly, everything that I ordered is exactly as described and it was all there. The speed with which it was delivered was incredible, and appreciated.Lastly, I think this is a very informative and easy website to navigate. I haven't started growing yet but I'm sure if I have questions, I'll be able to get the answers. Thank you for making everything from quality to shipping to information all top notch!

Not recommended. Sterilized petri dishes, substrate, grow mediums and liquid culture received with bacteria contamination. Both green and black mold contamination. Definitely not a fool proof grow kit for beginners as their advertisement states. Products are cheap Chinese products with no warranty. Their themometer/humidity devices do not read true temperatures. Their UVC wand has no warranty. Broke 2nd time using. Their heating mat is dying 1 week out of the box. The company is unresponsive and then attempts to blame the consumer when they do finally get back with you. There is a great write up on this company or rather why to stay away in the shroomery.

I’ve been ordering from Midwest for years and I feel the need to defend them as they had also experienced an issue that plagued almost all companies that sold spawn bags late fall of 2020. For anyone who doesn’t know, there is only one manufacturer of plastic spawn bags in the USA, the rest come from overseas. During fall of last year this company changed the material they make the white filters out of (due to Covid supply issues) and did not tell anyone. This change made the filters very fragile and simply touching the filter would break it down and allow bacteria to enter. This problem was plaguing all the online retailers and sellers on Etsy, EBay Amazon and more. I had the same issue after ordering from ShroomSupply and it was the same style spawn bag. You can look up any company and see reviews about them not sterilizing spawn bags and 1 star reviews. You can read about how the bag did nothing and turned to brown slime or smelled sour after a few days.
I have been ordering from Midwest since 2016 and never once had an issue with their spawn bags until a period between August 2020- December 2020. It was very strange, some bags would do fine and others would do nothing. Midwest kindly replaced my faulty bags on all occasions and now I feel bad because it really wasn’t even their fault. It wasn’t until I started hearing about this manufacturing error on many of the forums that I contacted Midwest about and they also just found out too. The spawn bag maker even posted videos on YouTube and Instagram about it mid January.
Midwest switched spawn bag suppliers in January and my last order including the replacements were perfect. The new bags they use are way better anyways. Much thicker plastic and crystal clear! I told Midwest they should post this info on their site. So thanks for reading and rest assured that any bag product ordered from Midwest now is back to their consistent quality and super fast shipping that is the reason I continue to do business with them.

I ordered the mega grow kit and have been very happy! I added a humidity and temperature control to make it truly automated. Had one small issue (probably my fault) but they made it right without question! Great people to do business with!

Everything was great!!! I enjoyed growing my wonderful mushrooms and the guides provided were perfect. I won’t continue to grow them although it was super easy, I wish I personally knew a local grower but it was most certainly a fun experience thanks to Midwest Grow Kits.

The grow kit that I purchased came with a defective bulb that shorted out after a few days of use. I called only to report the problem but the customer representative sent out a new bulb without my asking and it arrived within a few days.

Ordered a kit back in late December. Received the kit, love it. It made my grow process so much easier. Ran into an issue with a component of my kit not working well. Reached out to explain the issue and was immediately sent a replacement part(s) to correct the issue. Received the replacement part express shipping and got the new part operational very quickly.

Top notch service. Extremely satisfied with my experience and will order more in the furture.

The quality and price of the products are second to none and I have had jars go bad and they do, I take a picture show surrounding jars growing and date I purchased no questions asked. Also customer service is second to none. Midwest is the only one stop site for growing mushrooms

As a amateur mycologist, I can’t rave enough about Midwest which has become one of my favorite vendors/shops all around. I say this for several reasons:

1. They have the supply that is needed for every step of the lifecycle. One stop shopping is great!

2. As an amateur, I am often in need of advice and insight to help me with my endeavors. I have ALWAYS gotten valuable help from their staff which has in turn set me on the right path or calmed my anxieties with a grow.

3. The staff, every single one of them I’ve spoken with, are friendly, down to earth and really really helpful.

4. When I’ve experienced product/supply problems they rectify the situation immediately and to my satisfaction.

All that said, I do have two helpful bits of feedback:

1. Sometimes there are discrepancies between the instructions that appear in product listings and what is included in shipped supplies. Nothing a little content strategy work won’t fix and if done would reduce number of calls into Midwest.

2. Support call capacity...it can be difficult to get through on the phone, but if you’re persistent you will eventually get through. While there is online chat, sometimes the advice coming from that channel contradicts the phone channel and that ought to be better aligned.

Still, from an overall view, these guys are great and an absolute joy to work with! Highly recommended!
