Steph & Shully breath of fresh air
Newlands cross , Came back to the Maldron after a long day and was instantly lifted by Steph and Shully. Their humour, friendliness, and genuine enthusiasm make such a difference. I’ve stayed here countless times, and it’s always the staff that make it feel like home.”
A truly complete service, parking, eating, sleeping
Stayed at Dublin Airport hotel. Great location. Easy parking. 5 min walk to Terminal. We had meal the night before and a Full breakfast before check-in. Very helpful staff throughout our visit.
Well done to Padma for her service.
Excellent hotel.
We have visited this particular hotel on previous occasions, since first being introduced to it by our son. This was our fourth visit and once again the quality of room, service and food was excellent. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent and we ate in the restaurant each evening, again the food was excellent and we received first class service from Valerie and Jake. Thank you.
on line check in £1.20 ? WHY?
Lovely hotels but on line check in a real faff - especially if travelling around - if I've paid for the room in advance why do I need to pay £1.20 on my card - no explanation but no choice - don't want to arrive and find my booking has been cancelled.
Excelent clean good services
We had afternoon tea at Newcastle…
We had afternoon tea at Newcastle hotel. The venue was excellent and drinks and high tea very well presented. staff very polite. Definitely pass this on to friends and family.
Belter staff
Stayed at the maldron at Manchester city centre.
Booked 3 rooms and the service was outstanding from cleaners.. friendly staff and just a nice environment and the feedback is replicated from 10 of us who stayed there for work
Huge thankyou to Georgia who let me have a later check out due to an meeting that came up.
Thankyou so much Manchester
Lots of love from Newcastle
I had being staying in the Maldron…
I had being staying in the Maldron Oranmore for over 16 years on business in Galway city every month . I found the staff Brilliant and the food good but I was very disappointed that they decided to change their corporate criteria which meant that I would have to stay alot more then once a month. I stay in hotels throughout the country and I have never come across this before. Other hotels I stay in around the country are very happy with my business and offer me their corporate rate. I feel that the Maldron has no loyalty to their customers and I will be staying elsewhere going forward.
Dean in the Maldron Hotel, Sandy Road, Galway
My husband and myself stayed in the Maldron Hotel, Sandy Road, Galway from Friday the 12th December to Sunday the 14th December.
Well, what an experience. Dean was simply the best. So friendly and helpful. Couldn't do enough for us and the other customers.
His professionalism showed as he showed his high expertise. Dean's standard of service was exceptional. You are a huge asset to this hotel Dean.
The girls that were in the breakfast room in the morning were brilliant. Smiling and so helpful too.
Overall, 10 out of 10 for everything in this hotel. We will be back
Birthday stay for our daughter
Just back from a 3 day stay in Liverpool, hotel is quite nice and central to everything. Rooms are extremely small hardly room to move in them and drink prices at the bar are extortionate 12.50 for a glass of wine. Had booked the birthday surprise package for my daughters birthday advertising balloons covering the ceiling in your choice of colour a happy birthday sign a card and chocolates for 40 pound.....got 14 balloons in a colour I didn't choose no birthday sign a compliment slip with a note written on it and 4 chocolates in a tiny box......very underwhelmed and disappointed would have cost me about a fiver to do myself so don't recommend this....breakfast was fab also paid 35 pound for late check out that I thought was a bit much also but hey that was my choice.....would I stay again probably not as the location was the only great thing about it
Throughly enjoyable
We recently stayed in the family suite at the Maldron Hotel in Brighton and loved every moment of my visit. The suite was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our needs, with thoughtful touches that made our stay delightful.
What truly stood out were the staff. Every single person we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. A special mention has to go to Hima, who was absolutely brilliant, friendly and attentive, as well as the gentleman who helped with our luggage and the gentleman who showed me alternative rooms for future stays. They all seemed genuinely committed to making sure we had everything we needed.
Overall, our stay was fantastic from start to finish. I would highly recommend the Maldron Hotel to anyone visiting Brighton, especially families looking for comfort and great service. It is located in the midst of everything yet tucked away enough to be perfect for those of us who wanted to be out, but also value a good night's sleep. I called afterwards with two minor suggestions, a doorstop and an additional full length mirror, which were welcomed. We cannot wait to return.
Wreath making with Afternoon Tea.
2 friends and I went to a wreath making event yesterday in the Newcastle hotel, with afternoon tea.
Luckily, we’d been to wreath making events before so we pretty much knew what we were doing - which was just as well as the are we were in was NOT conducive to such an exercise.
The small area was within a much larger open area of the hotel and the acoustics were awful. We could not hear a single word the poor woman said. Even after the music was turned down, it was simply too loud.
That said, we managed! The supply of items for the wreath was generous (unlike the one at Black Friars which is very stingy) and I ended up not using a lot of mine.
My finished wreath was fantastic and it went straight on my front door when I got home. I’m delighted with it.
The afternoon tea was 10/10. We got it served on individual 3 tier plates and it had everything expected within the contents. I had imagined it would be some cheap exercise where they just had a plate of pathetic sandwiches and cakes and everyone had to help themselves. How wrong was I! I would go back just for the afternoon tea.
One of my friends is allergic to dairy and I’d completely forgotten to mention this when booking. Saying that, I had booked through Eventbrite and there was nowhere to mention it. When the floor manager(?) asked us if everything was okay, he was genuinely horrified that they’re was nothing for her to eat. He suggested all sorts of alternatives but she didn’t fancy any so didn’t partake. Full credit to him though as he tried his very best to get something sorted.
I did get a shock at the drinks prices. £12.95 for a large wine seemed pretty excessive but I suppose it is the city centre.
All in all, I would give the experience an 8.5/10 and even with the issues, I would do it again next year.
Slightly disappointed
Check in was 3pm but the room wasn’t ready until 3.40pm. I was really disappointed as I assumed the delay was because I paid for a dessert plate for my daughter’s birthday but it was not in the room when we finally got checked in. I advised reception but they said it would be a couple of hours before they could rectify it and we were heading out for the day so by the time we returned there was an uncovered dessert plate and the brownies were hard.
The bathroom also was not clean and had marks from the previous guests.
Bar staff were excellent especially two northern Irish staff members who made lovely cocktails. Breakfast was amazing.
Maldron Hotel Brighton - Money grabbing policies.
Disappointing — Money Grabbing Policies
This was my second stay at the Maldron Hotel in Brighton, and unfortunately, it will be my last. I chose this hotel again because it’s advertised as dog-friendly, but when I informed them I’d be bringing my very small dog (half the size of a cat!) for one night, they had the audacity to charge £50 per stay. I’ve stayed in many hotels across the UK, and none have ever charged anywhere near that, usually it’s £10–£20 at most, if there’s a fee at all. In the end I left my dog to the dog sitter, she charges me less than the hotel.
To make things worse, their late checkout policy is equally unreasonable. Checkout is at 11 a.m., but if you want just one extra hour, they charge an additional £30.
Overall, I found the Maldron Hotel extremely money-grabbing and inconsiderate. My stay was on a quiet Wednesday night, so it’s not as if the hotel was busy. I left feeling disappointed and frustrated that they take advantage of customers like this. I won’t be returning and would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values fair and transparent pricing.
Maldron Hotel Newcastle Upon Tyne
Maldron Hotel Newcastle Upon Tyne. Coach Tour. The room we were in was ok, unfortunately the coffee and milk provided was awful! The mugs were terrible very badly damaged! The breakfast buffet was brilliant again let down by the coffee! The evening meal wasn’t that good, not much of a choice, not enough of it and the service was diabolical, the amount of time we had to wait between courses was unbelievable and the meal itself was not very warm! Would definitely not recommend!
We stayed in the amazing hotel and wonderful staffhotel in…
We stayed in the maldron hotel in newcastle for the first time, it was brilliant, the staff was amazing nothing was to much trouble. Debbie who was manager of in house accommodation was truly fantastic, she made our stay so lovely. Room was spotless, food was great so we'll done kitchen staff ! It's in a great location and we are hoping to go back there in October. Beds was so comfy and I loved the walk in shower. Well done to everyone and thankyou !
Getting return custom is not priority
I received a voucher to a mimosa afternoon tea, the back end of February as a gift.
As much as I have never tried the maldron hotel, I heard good things from a budget hotel perspective. I had also met some of the staff before when I had an inquiry. I found them all quite lovely.
The problem started with the date on the voucher due to expire. I'm so used to a year to use, I didn't even check it was only usable for a few months. My mistake completely.
I checked on the off chance that the restaurant might be able to extend the voucher to use at the end of the week on my day off (extend by 3 days)
I called and spoke to the restaurant, the girl went off to ask the question and came back with a hard no. I said OK and re arranged a few things and booked for 3pm on the last day it could be used (4 days away) after work with a Co worker.
Over the weekend, I got sick. I emailed reservations to ask if I could postpone due to sickness. Maybe is they could escalate it to a member of management. As I wouldn't be going to work, but would be returning on Thursday. Could they accommodate me? Unfortunately, no one replied to my email, I was cc on an email asking a manager to address it. She didn't reply, so I emailed on the day of the reservation saying I only had a few hours to cancel. Another member of staff emailed back saying the manager was away somewhere and they couldn't honour the voucher.
I went.. Not feeling my best.
The reception was lovely. They were friendly and kind. My Co worker joined me and we went to check in. We stood around for a few minutes, we were the only people there. A passing chef took the liberty of asking us if we were OK and sitting us at a table. He then went to reception, the receptionist went off to find our server.
He arrived, took tableware from another table to put on ours and asked if we wanted tea? We told him we love tea!!
He brought a small tea pot with enough for 2 small cups and some milk.
He brought the afternoon tea stand out immediately and put it on the table and walked off. He was not unpleasant, just unintested. No description, no questions, he didn't even ask to fill our empty tea pot.
He stood at the station looking at his phone, which I'm sure was work related. I'm not saying he wasn't doing something but he never checked on us, or even looked at us.
I asked for another pot and he brought it, he didn't take away the empty tea pot and I had to pop it under the table on the floor to make room.
I asked for a take away box on the way to the bathroom and he brought it.
I packed away the cakes, and we just left.
I didn't even leave a tip which is so unlike me.
The food was nice enough, the scone was warm and fluffy. The sandwiches were pretty basic but fresh, the cakes were small but nice. I really needed the tea, 2 one person pots between 2 of us only got us 2 small cups each. I expect an abundance of tea at an afternoon tea. I wasn't hungry as I was sick.
Its such a shame that the whole customer service side was lacking. The point not being that they wouldn't reschedule for me or take into account that I was unwell and could have spread it around the hotel (turns out it was the back end of covid) but just the compleat lack of personality.
The restaurant is clean and quite large, the bathroom was nice. we were the only people in there. Our experience was over within the hour. It was only that long as we were chatting and catching up on work developments. It would have been a handy place to bring our international team being steps from my work place.
If you are looking for a luxury experience, this is not it. Newcastle has so many gorgeous places on offer for about the same price. This was gifted to me, so felt I should use it. If I had of booked it my self I would have cancelled.
I wouldn't return or recommend.
Maldron Hotel Newlands Cross Dublin
Very disappointing!
Booked a room for 3 only to find on arrival that it had been prepared for 2. Quickly fixed by a helpful reception and housekeeper.
Next discovered that there is no airport shuttle or local bus service to the airport as advertised. So for a very early flight next day an expensive €50 approx taxi fare to fork out.
Headed to the restauraurant as despite quite expensive prices the menu looked appealing. BIG MISTAKE!
DO NOT DINE HERE.
All 3 meals were of a very poor standard. Pasta with chorizo was lukewarm, tasteless (how can anything with chorizo be tasteless?) and there wasn't much chorizo present. Both Classic burger and Gourmet burger were absolutely dreadful. Barely warm burgers, 'crispy' onions were actually slimy fried chunks of onion, the burgers although nearly cold tasted charred and burnt. Given the price tag of €19 this is shameful.
Positives - the room was clean, bathroom nicely finished, reception staff and restaurant staff friendly and helpful
Maldron hotel Tallaght
Maldron hotel Tallaght. This was a truly horrific experience. The dirt and smell in the room was beyond words. Mould growing half way up filthy stinking net curtains. Actual curtain falling off railing, hairs in the bed, smell of smoke and cheap pine disenfectant. We were at a function the food and service was beyond a joke. Wilted cesear salad 3leaves to be exact and a cold main. It was the closest thing to a fawlty Tower experience I could imagine. Thankfully another guest didn’t stay so I could use a different room but I definitely would never ever go here again or recommend to anyone. Less than 1 star
Mid-term break
We stayed from 22/04 to 25/04 in the Maldron Oranmore, Galway. The pool was nice, as was the convenient location of the hotel. The breakfast was very good. We were met each morning by the manager, Ann. She was very helpful, friendly, approachable and attentive. We also received nice service from Charlotte and Abigail. The room service by Aga was very good also. The bathroom was a bit dated and had no towel rail or hook so wet towels had to be hung over the door. The TV is not WiFi linked so you cannot watch Netflix unless you stream it through your mobile, which took a while to set up. We went to the games room to play a game of pool and found it very shabby, most games/toys were broken and if reflected badly on the hotel, I think. Overall it was a nice stay though.
