I bought a lunar cosmos 524 from campbells caravans. In 2017, it is now 2024 and had no reason to complain the only thing was I reinforced inside the gas locker with wider alum angle , apart from that... Mehr ansehen

Well i must be one of the lucky ones…
Well i must be one of the lucky ones that purchased a Lunar Solarus 674 in July 2019 from Grantham Caravans firstly the staff at Granthams are the most pleasant people to deal with and i got a cracking deal on my brand new caravan and as far as people say that Lunar has gone bust "THEY HAVEN'T GONE BUST" They went into admin VERY BIG DIFFERANCE FROM GOING BUST so please get your facts right before hitting the keyboard Lunar are here to stay and i can add other caravan makes have as many issue's if not more than Lunar i wont mention the make but one caravan retailer that i know has BIG PROBLEMS the problems with the caravans he sells brand new factory fresh with very high readings of damp in the offside front window area
Stay away
Purchased a lunar 574 quasar brand new from Robinson’s of chesterfield just before the company (lunar) went into administration last year. Unfortunately the van had a few problems. Tried to resolve these issues through the dealer and all the dealer says it’s down to lunar themselves. The service I’ve had from the manufacturer and dealer is shameful still waiting for repairs 7 months later. All I can say is stay away from lunar vans and also stay away from Robinson’s altogether don’t buy any make from this dealer use others because there not interested at all after they have your money
Customer service there isnt any
Customer service non existent. No replies to emails, when contacted by phone people are rude and arrogant. If they want to get their name back after being bankrupt the company must try harder and not treat former recent purchasers as nobodies who do not matter!!. Caravans are poorly built and shoddy with ill fitting cupboards. Screws just put in anywhere to hold a cupboard in place. I've made some mistakes in my life this was the biggest buying a Lunar.
Purchased a brand new 2018 Lunar…
Purchased a brand new 2018 Lunar conquest 674 from dealers never again. Bathroom wall screwed to tight and snapped. Trimming on door shrunk and wood warped. Just had to pay out on new skylight as was leaking all over bed. Had replacement tap in bathroom, new front window. The door on front of caravan fills up with water. So for a 2 year old caravan theres been nothing but faults and money.
Lunar Quaser 524 2017 model purchased…
Lunar Quaser 524 2017 model purchased new and delivered Dec 2016. Within months on first use slide out table came to pieces and gas strut on bed locker broke off. Both due to poor workmanship and poor manufacture. Since then have had to strengthen bed lockers and refit items that have been assembled with screws that are too short. As an engineer and into DIY this has not been a problem but on a new van unacceptable. In 18 months a small crack appeared in rear panel due to over tightened screws. This was repaired by Lunar. After 24 months two more cracks appeared in front panel, one on the side and another on the roof. Lunar refused to deal with them and as my solicitor was issuing court proceedings they went bust. I do not have a good word to say about this company as it produces vans that are poorly assembled by a workforce who have no pride in what they do and it is their customers who pay the price which is a shame as the vans are well designed and equipped. Anyone purchasing a new Lunar from the new company should read the guarantee as they used to only cover the front and rear plastic panels 12 months unlike others who give 5 years. This company has a lot of work to do to re assure customers that they are selling a quality product but as it is the same workforce under a different company I for one will not
risk hard earned cash on another Lunar.
We have had Lunars for 10 years
We have had Lunars for 10 years, our latest a Venus for 2 years now.
No problems and things that failed were made by others like the Truma heating. Lunar had problems before going bust by churning out too many units and not keeping an eye on quality, with luck the new owners will change that.
Look forward to seeing the name back at the shows..PS friends with a new caravan from someone else have had nothing but problems shows it can happen to any caravan
It Had to be Hopefully People Will Buy Decent Caravans
I am sorry for the caravaners that have purchased a Luna but so glad they have gone bust as no more people will get badly made caravans I bought one in 2017 nothing but problems roof replaced cooker glass smashed heating, the list is endless I bought for retirement but after fighting though court and even went on rip of Britain but didn't show as made BBC look good as told me wouldn't win in court got this useless caravan from Wandahome south cave not much better than Lunalet's hope they get there day as spoilt my retirement and made profit twice as only way would get decent money as still had defects that you could see. I'm so happy best news this year. Just feel sorry for person that bought mine and also for all you that have one under warranty
Don’t go near them.Like most new…
Don’t go near them.Like most new British Caravans you have a one in four chance of a serious problem. However Lunar’s customer service is appalling.Their 6 year warranty is not worth the paper it’s written on.I have spent 9 months trying to get my money back on water ingress damage and repair. Was due to take them to court, when they went bust.
Sadly however if only their quality control and customer service was better; the Lunar Quattro is a very nice, well designed caravan.
Will maybe look at an Adria next time.
The NCC has let this situation develop with British Caravans, but have not been able to do anything about it.
Luna caravan we cannot use
Picked up our new Luna clubman in March 2017 , feeling good having a brand new caravan and only used it 6 times, we took it for its second service and was very shocked to find whats wrong with it, 4 creasies above the door and the floor has 30 mm movement and all the handles are peeling off the crome inside so we contacted the company we bought it from and they said they cant do nothing with it because Luna has gone into administration so now we have a 2 year old caravan which we cannot use, no Holiday this year , we are not happy bunnies
Delivery of my new Lunar Clubman SE…
I took delivery of my new Lunar Clubman SE in January 2019. Yes I have had a couple of minor cosmetic issues that have been resolved by the dealer. The only major issue is squealing brakes which is not a Lunar issue at all. This is my second Lunar van I and I would not have purchased another new van if I wasnt happy with the build and workmanship. Having spoken to other van owners who have purchased other manufacturers, I have come to the conclusion that Bailey caravans have as many if not more issues with the build quality and leaking. All vans whatever make are hand built and not by robots, so if you want a van that is 100% perfect from the outset, I am afraid you will be disappointed whatever you buy. Lunar vans are modern, light and have features that look great. Dont be put off by all these negative comments or you may miss out on owning a van that sticks out from the rest of the crowd.
Even one star is too much
Even one star is too much, Lunar Quasar bought Aug 2017, brand new used 8 times and kitchen tap is broken, wear and tear according to Lunar and not covered in warranty after 12 months. Wear and tear on caravan that old is disgusting, Lunars response - nothing then can do!!
Had response to review I gave them on there website, just said they had replied 29th May, yes they did and that was there response - nothing they can do. Please consider buying a Lunar, according to manager that sold it to me at Leisure Sales Sandbach 'they are known as leaky lunars' totally mis sold I would say!
Never again
Bought our alaria from Campbells of Preston. £34,000. First trip out, front seating unit collapsed, hadn't been secured with brackets, window latches hanging loose, cupboards not shutting properly and freezer door refused to open because the latch broke. We now have cupboard trims shrunk and coming away, found little patches in the trim, obviously someone ran out of trim I am now purchasing replacement trim. Door blind was damaged, screws in outside lockers overtightned causing cracks in plastic, locker door fell off whilst travelling I won't start on the water system, I could go on and list loads more. A blessing I have a brilliant son who can fix anything. Never buy Lunar again.
Lunar Delta TS 2017
In 2017 I paid £28,000 for a Delta TS from Highbridge Caravans, since then we have had nothing but fault after fault. The build quality leaves much to be desired and certainly doesn’t meet the BS 9001 that they boast about. I have listed the issues below but the main one is the water system that doesn’t work. It won’t pump on board, it won’t keep the pressure, no water at all. We have not been away in the van without something going wrong. You have to use two pumps to receive one amount of water. A colleague who works at Bailey Caravans said that we have what is known as a “Friday afternoon caravan”.
I wrote to Lunar with no reply so wrote to the CEO and had a standard letter from the Production Director. Highbridge have been unable to fix it.
Screws over tightened forcing them through the plywood.
6 screws not tightened under the caravan (about 3” sticking out).
The pullout table only held by two screws.
Shelf in the cupboard not fitting allowing it to collapse (when I checked the vans at the dealer they were all the same).
Pullout basket not secured, only two short screws.
Water system that is not fit for purpose.
Van is going back in June as the bulkhead (wall inside the front locker) has come loose, a common fault with Lunars I am told.
Don’t buy a Lunar!
Lunar Stella from a NZ…
We bought a Lunar Stella from a NZ DEALER who imported the van.
We have had nothing but a series of disasters and today diagnosis is the last straw.
We our tyre trad down to an almost disaster while during a service it was discovered that this company put on cheap Yugoslavian tyres l that they admitted were a bad batch and we copped them.we replaced both tyres with commercial quality tyres at our own expense.
Following this we suffered with a delamination issue(this appears from other reviews others have suffered these issues sadly.we had a resin syringed into 160 dowl hole from under the van and have been told it may just may last up to 5 years.
Today we have discovered a very very delicious further problem with the brakes and the result of this is going to add further costs to this lemon of a vehicle.
We love the layout of our van however the very poor response from Lunar and the Winchester sales site in the UK to our ongoing issues is well and truly beyond a joke.
Be warned NEVER purchase a Lunar caravan unless you want to throw your money away.
Disgraceful.
To add to this others need to know that imported uk vans need to have power points that have an internal switch relevant to NZ Electrical standards.
We discovered these requirements by chance in an article in the NZMCA Motor Caravaner and were interested as hubby is an Electrician. The Nelson Electrical inspector who certified our van was unaware of this requirement ( but he should have known).
We reported this inspector to the EWRB electrical workers registration board but they have done nothing about bringing this inspector to task!!
Be warned and be careful.
The Lunar Ultima 560 caravan.
The Lunar Ultima 560 bought from Robinsons (Chesterfield) March 2016. A crack in the rear panel, emanating from beneath the awning rail (I assume from a fixing screw), was discovered February 2019, one month prior to the end of the three year manufacturers warranty. The agent who has serviced the caravan from new, refused to repair under the warranty, and sent me a quotation for the repair of £1011 !!
I have twice Emailed Lunar regarding the fault and the only reply has been an automated one to confirm receipt.
The caravan has had numerous other faults that have been repaired under the warranty, but many other minor faults that I just live with.
Overall, I do not recommend Lunar and would advise against any purchase from Lunar.
We are on now on our second Lunar Delta…
We are on now on our second Lunar Delta TS. Loved the layout and space etc in the 2016 model and thoroughly enjoyed using it for the first year. Unfortunately, at first service we were told the floor had delaminated and the "repair" was going to be by way of removing all of the floor sections from underneath and bodging bits of of wood in with glue!! My husband is an engineer and we refused to accept this. To cut a very long story short, it had a manufacturing defect and after much aggro and the threat of legal proceedings we achieved a replacement caravan under the Consumer Rights Act 2015! We have enjoyed the new caravan so far and it passed its first service. There are some issues that need putting right under the warranty, though, and Lunar steadfastly fail to deliver the necessary parts. They have been on order for months now and even the dealer says "They just ignore our emails". Luckily the parts we need are just largely cosmetic things and do not affect us being able to take the van on the road - but they could be things that effectively put the caravan out of use. Lunar vans look lovely and have some great design features but the company is a disaster!
Absolutely concur with all the comments…
Absolutely concur with all the comments made previously. Once they have your money they wash their hands completely of their own products. No response to emails, no way of speaking to anyone on the phone, auto generated advice is to contact the dealer, in my case, Campbells of Preston, yea right don’t get me started on them.
Lunar Clubman SB bought at the Caravan Show 2015, microwave not working, door and cupboard handles falling off, leaking roof, steady pushed through bottom, toilet flush tank leaking causing dampness, motor mover never worked, trim round skylight does not fit, locker shelves made from cardboard, front locker screws frame to shell all fell out, waste water hoses keep coming off, outside lockers don’t lock very well and occasionally open when on the move, front window latches open when on the move, push handle lights always blowing, awning lights the same, etc.etc.etc just spent over £1100 putting it right, but not for long I guess before something else goes wrong,
Take my advice, stay clear of Lunar and Campbell’s Caravan.
I ordered a new bed for my Lunar Camper…
I ordered a new bed for my Lunar Camper I was told it would be 10 weeks after 12 weeks contacted them through dealer because you can`t order direct.Had a reply saying won`t be able to supply new bed. This terrible service terrible service they must of known weeks ago there was a problem but kept me hanging on.
A pleasant surprise
I was a bit skeptical at first, having had problems with Lunar caravans before. After being reassured that the construction methods have been revamped for the new season I decided to give it another try.
Very robust, solid caravans. Lunar seems to have tackled the problems head on, which is something you cannot say about other manufacturers.
Respect to Lunar and 3M on their partnership!
Unacceptable After Sales Service.
High price ; low quality . Toilet filler leaked as seal had failed ; ceiling fan failed . Locker locks don’t close. Eventually sorted under dealer warranty ..... warranty initially refused but dealer stepped in after 3 emails , ignored, and. One star review.
Now after an accident , we have waited 15 weeks for parts. Lunar don’t communicate. They only had one chance to lose their reputation ... it’s gone.
Unacceptable Lunar. You are an inefficient and ineffectual business.
Avoid at all costs.
