Rip off ...Get a quote first ... Attempted fraudulent charging of over £1,000 ... The contractor (Alin Padurean) picked on the wrong guy ... I made it very clear I wasn't going to pay anywhere near that amount and miraculously, after some arguing between us, the bill dropped to almost half the original figure ... £520 (incl VAT) ... The total was still too high as £89 call out fee (OK) .... £100 labour, 10 minutes drilling and 10 minutes fitting (OK) ... Cost of replacement standard cylinder lock and 3 keys £300 (NOT OK) ... I',m a property manager and will never be using this company again unless they can message me to explain why a bog standard non emergency cylinder lock change can cost over £1000

I needed to change my locks so I called 24H Locksmiths LTD and they sent me one of their staff. Alex came in and was very professional, he kindly explained the types of locks they offer because I’m clueless about this. He helped me choose which lock to get. I’m very pleased with the service provided and thank you to Alex who was friendly and professional.

I was vastly overcharged by 24H locksmiths Ltd, I would not suggest this company to anyone, after an enormous amount to get me into my property , they then charged nearly £300 for new lock & keys..then more charges for labour.
I would never use them again

We were locked out of our hotel room for over two hours. The manager refused to cover the locksmith fee and left us stranded, insisting he’d try to open it himself later. Patrick was incredibly helpful and kind, and still came to our rescue. He quickly and skillfully opened the door for us, even without the hotel’s support. Truly grateful for his professionalism and generosity.

A locksmith attended our property and promptly sorted out the issue (key not turning properly).

He told us that our lock was not insurance-compliant. He offered a new lock for £189.

This seemed acceptable and we proceeded with the works.

Unfortunately, we later found that comparable locks are obtainable for a tiny fraction of this price - roughly £20.

I complained to the company. They felt that they add so much value to the installation that the price is fine - 1 year guarantee, fitting at short notice, overheads etc.

The fact was, they had already charged £89 as a callout fee and the original works had taken less than 15 minutes.

AVOID!

Aleks was fantastic! Would defo recommend to anyone that needs a locksmith! He arrived super quickly, gave us prices & got the work done in about 10 minutes. Then when we accidentally locked ourselves out (!) just after the locks were changed, he came straight back & got us straight back in again with out charging us for a second visit. Top guy!

Alex from 24H Locksmiths did great. I contacted the company when I locked myself out and he was assigned to me under 5mins. He arrived my home in about 15mins and resolved the lock issue in 5mins ONLY!!!. Thank you team

Avoid at all costs!!!!!! I was quoted 50 pounds over the phone… the locksmith arrived and ended up charging me 342 pounds!!!!!!!! He actually said he gave me a discount and it was meant to be £390, it’s laughable.. they’re an absolute disgrace and so predatory!! Bear in mind I called at 9am - not the middle of the night. Please do not go here. Subsequently I had to go back to another locksmith for the same door a week later and for the exact same lock it cost me £150!!! I told him about it and he said they were dishonest!! They’re absolute scam artists!! Do not go here!!

I was locked out of the house called them and they said 1 hr some1 will come and open the door, within 1 hr Aleks was at my door he drilled the lock to open the door, was pleased to get back in my house. But remember to stick to what the price u are quoted when u call them. I was quoted £59 on phone to open my door and let me enter but when the locksmith arrived he said this is difficult lock and it would cost me £169, later he agreed for 120 but I just stuck with the quoted price, so he drilled and broke my lock to open the door and finally agreed to 59+vat to which again said it was not what I was told on phone. In the end it all £59. So stick with what is quoted on the phone.

Just had them come out to help us gain access to our house as we left keys on the inside of the door by accident. The guy quoted £45 for labour over the phone. He came swiftly, within 40 minutes which is great but he said he was unable to gain access and had to drill the lock off and replace it. What should have cost between £100-£200 cost over £600!!! He charged an exorbitant amount of labour to drill the lock off and again to fit the lock, which doesn't even sit right in our lock, so it doesn't look nice (although it technically works). I would not advise to go with this company, you can get much cheaper and better quality work done for sure!

super careless, very old style approach. they define tou tolo advantage of my stressfull and vulnerable situation.
very expensive service, they do not provide a reference amount that will be charged until they come on site, which means that will have to pay their transportation at least!! £89
i could not open my door as i lost my key só rang this company at 2am.
the guy that opened my door, just did 3 drills on the lock which it was not needed. a simple tool would be more than enough to open the door as i did not have the key in the hole.
do not recompensa and will not require service ever again.

I was quoted £39 over the phone by this company to help with a lockout. When the locksmith arrived, he falsely claimed my lock was too secure to pick and drilled it unnecessarily, charging me £280.80 for the callout and forced entry. He then tried to pressure me into replacing the lock immediately, quoting over £300, saying the price would increase the next day - classic high-pressure scam tactics. Fortunately while the locksmith was doing all of that I immediately looked on Reddit and also consulted another locksmith and was told that my lock didn't have to be drilled at all in the first place so I told the locksmith that we'll just leave it at that.

The next morning, a reputable locksmith confirmed the lock could have been opened non-destructively using a card, and replaced the entire lock for just £90 + VAT. He also warned me that these kinds of companies pay heavily for SEO to appear at the top of Google, often outranking legitimate local locksmiths meaning people in emergency/stressful situations like mine are tricked into thinking they're calling a trusted provider.

After investigating further, I found:

The company claims to be VAT registered, but I could not find a matching company on Companies House.

They are not members of the Master Locksmiths Association (MLA), so are not officially recognised or held to professional standards.

Their website (keys247.co.uk) appears unrelated to any verifiable legal business, and is likely just a front to collect leads.

These tactics are well documented on Reddit and other review platforms - misrepresentation, price-gouging, and intimidation.

I’ve reported this to my bank and Trading Standards and strongly advise others to avoid this company. Always check for MLA membership and avoid anyone who refuses to give clear, written quotes upfront.

Alex is a fantastic locksmith! He arrived promptly and had unlocked my door within seconds. His calm, professional manner is exactly what’s needed in the stressful, upsetting situation of being locked out. I cannot recommend his services highly enough.

Absolutely shocking and dishonest service – avoid at all costs!

My husband and I were locked out late at night and called this so-called “24-hour locksmith” after being quoted £45 for a simple entry. I confirmed the price twice over the phone with the lady who booked it. She never mentioned any emergency call-out charges, VAT, or inflated costs for locks.

When the locksmith arrived, he suddenly quoted £169 + VAT, claiming it wasn’t a “simple entry” — yet he barely even tried to pick the lock (literally touched it for 2 seconds) and refused to check the easier back door we offered. He insisted on drilling the lock, which any random person could have done. So much for professional skill.

After entering, he tried to charge us £75 for a lock that retails online for £10, and then slipped in a £45 emergency call-out fee + VAT — again, never mentioned on the phone. In the end, we were handed a ridiculous £346 invoice, when we were initially quoted £45.

We felt cornered — it was after midnight, this man was in our home, aware of our security, hovering over us — we were intimidated into paying. It was predatory and exploitative.

This company is running a scam disguised as a locksmith service. Their pricing is completely dishonest, they prey on people in vulnerable situations, and the reviews saying similar things are clearly not a coincidence. I will be reporting them to Trading Standards, Citizens Advice, and disputing the payment through my credit card.

Avoid this company. They are scammers.

Huge scammers.
Charged me nearly £500 to replace my lock.
Lied about everything being fixed, wanted to charge me a further £900 for my door panelling.
you can never get a call back and when you do call, they are very aggressive, I even had to ask the manager to calm down so we could atleast discuss why I never received a quote and why was I lied to when I was told everything was included in the first quote.
Honestly it is children running the phone lines and they have no clue what their technicians do.
They overcharge, aggressive and out to just steal your money. Do not use

I was locked out and within half an hour Bobby was here and managed to open the lock within 5 minutes! Amazing service, highly knowledgeable and couldn’t recommend more!!

Fast and efficient service from start to finish. Needed entry into my property as i had been locked out and Bobby had the issue sorted within 5 minutes.
Will definitely use him again, but hopefully i won’t need to…!
