I don’t doubt the vet, Gemma gave correct diagnosis. It was not a happy outcome for our beautiful Bella. However, she was treated as a commodity not a beloved pet. From the moment we walked in it was all about the money. When we left her to be treated they asked for a large deposit. What did they think we were going to do.. run away? We went into Kendal to kill time before collecting Bella. Gemma rang me to tell me, rather coldly, there was nothing they could do for Bella. Terminal bone cancer. Told that news on a busy street. Altogether a truly distressing and disturbing experience. Please go somewhere else where they care for animals and owners

I absolutely recommend kendale refferals and Jan the surgeon should wear a Cape he is my hero, all the nurses and receptionists were friendly helpful and polite whatever time of day or night you called and all was explained I honestly didn't think there was any hope for my girl poppy after her spine traum, but thankyou kentdale you gave my baby back and she's back to her happy self, thankyou xx

This review is long overdue. I rarely give reviews but wanted to ensure that I mention just how fantastic the veterinary surgeon Jan Barenek is. After spending too much money with our local vets it turned out they were treating the wrong joint, Jan recognised immediately that our dog had elbow dysplasia with a fragmented medial coronoid process. Flint had surgery end of May and Jan continually reassured us he would be almost limp free within 3 months. We were skeptical but he was right. Well, 7 months after surgery Flint, who is 10, is running around like he did years ago.
Jan, displays a humble sort of confidence in a very calm way. He did not try and talk us into unnecessary therapies, etc. All very straight forward and we are very grateful for making our Flint pain-free. I can highly recommend Jan as a surgeon.

I sincerely hope Kentdale reads these reviews. The aftercare resembles a conveyor belt assembly line. Move along, your processing is complete.

Surgery not complaining about. Cost and customer service a major issue
Despite not having first been told of the need to pay an insurance shortfall once you collect your dog who has just come round from surgery you then find out after it all they didn’t provide full information on cost nor supply copy forms you signed. Yes after complaint they apologise but remarkably a couple of weeks later they tell you there is then another shortfall and send a payment request. Immediately after that they send another and a chase daily and then telephone you as well. After losing our temper with their appalling lack of customer care and awaiting for their inconsiderate customer service adviser calling or emailing to discuss again they don’t but simply start the reminders and sending payment links again!! Their terms of business say 30 days but NO they seem to be daily based on their aggressive money chasing. This business seems more driven to make money rather than first care for your animal and the owners feelings. The government say they are looking into vet fees. Not before time but let’s face it they know how much we love our animals so it’s a easy sell but this client is more than disappointed with their operation

The company appear to be competent and experienced in connection with animal surgery. However, having the referral system seems to mean that you need to pay your local vet for X-rays and services to determine your pet’s surgical requirements and then you pay Kentdale for a consultation to tell you the same surgical requirements. Then having proceeded with the operation costing over £5000 my pet Labrador was returned in a very poor state mainly due to the many skin sores due to careless pre-operation shaving. Post operation there was no follow up from Kentdale and any requests for support were referred back to my own vet who would charge again for them to refer me back to Kentdale. So now you know the “referral” works both ways and you pay twice.
