I recently purchased an ex demonstrator Mazda from the Colchester Mazda dealership. Despite being assured the first year service has been carried out I received an automated email service reminder from Mazda and the "MyMazda" app service record shows the first service overdue. The salesman, Sam Wells, appears to be doing his best to sort this but three weeks later the situation remains and neither Mazda nor John Banks seem unable to resolve the issue. I am concerned the incomplete service record could jeopardise the Mazda warranty especially when using another more local dealer for service.
This situation has totally spoilt the experience of the car purchase.
Hopefully this review will prompt a resolution so I can give the review the car deserves.
Poor service communication, courtesy car dirty 12 miles in the tank
Not being the greatest fan of car dealerships, I have to say that I thoroughly recommend John Banks Group-Mazda in Colchester. Mine was a used car purchase, but there was no hard selling, trying to persuade me to buy something I didn’t need. I chose the vehicle I wanted and was able to negotiate a deal which I believe was mutually satisfactory. On collection the car had been valeted and was well presented. My thanks to both Anton and Ian in the sales department. Thoroughly professional.

Listened to what we needed, ordered. Communication when ordered was extremely good, phone calls and emails. Really helpful and very thorough in his work.
Delighted with the car, thank you so much!!!
He has also been extrememly helpful with our son getting a different car too.
No hot chocolate in the drinks machine, cannot drink tea or coffee, please bring it back.

I purchased a car from the used cars at John Banks . The purchase was good and they were spot on with information and smooth running to buy and pick up my car . I had a light kept appearing on the dash. They were completely on board with my complaint and dealt with it also giving me a curtesy car while mine was being sorted . They replaced the part with no quibble ! . I would highly recommend the sales team , the after sales team and the service team . Well done guys good combination

Prior to submitting this review the John Banks link mentioned l should contact them before posting anything negative. I did do so but no one responded. I did not purchase a Mazda car from John Banks in Colchester for various reasons. Those being no reply to some emails, no car to test drive although requested prior to appointment. John Banks own service plan for Mazda 2 hybrid £174 more expensive than Mazda’s own service plan but apparently no better. Likewise car accessory prices quoted were more than Mazda advertised prices. I did contact John Banks Head Office about a query but did not receive a reply from them. As a result l had no confidence in making a purchase.
