I'm a combat veteran, US Army OIF. I used Jake's to help me stop chewing and I had heard that mint has a good calming effect. It worked. I stopped my nasty chew habit and the mint flavor was strong and helped me curb the nicotine addiction. I use Jake's now because I enjoy it, not through addiction, and the taste is awesome. The mints I use are the pouches and I think they kinda help my mood (could be subconscious) and keep me calm. I was also diagnosed with Diverticulitis, and in using mint and drinking kombucha (sp), I haven't had a flare up for two years. Once again not a medical claim but just my experience.

Been looking away so I could quit smoking THC since I’ve started Jake Mintz I’ve been using less than less weed and I find that my body is more calmer, less painful. I’m enjoying being around and doing things again.

I really like the pouches unfortunately they are too big wish they could make some about half that size so you could actually put them in your lip first company that will start doing that will probably double their profits

If you are reading this, it is because you are trying to quit chewing"tobacco". I was in your shoes and now 8 years later, I still chew. The only difference is now it is a great tasting product which no longer is shorting my life span. Give it a solid few weeks to a month and you will not be disappointed.

I’m easy to please, but when my order arrived, some product had leaked out, making a mess in the bag and on the labels. The cans and labeling felt cheaper— not a huge deal— but I’d like for it to stay fresh longer and not leak during transit.

My bigger issue was that the scents were incredibly strong. Not the flavor—the majority tasted the same—but the scent, which I assume is meant to trick you into thinking you’re tasting it. My guess is the product is heavily soaked in flavor oils. I’ve used flavor oils myself for beard products because they work well for scent, so I recognized it right away.

I was looking for an alternative to my Longhorn Long Cut. The texture here is okay for not being tobacco, but the flavor you choose isn’t really a flavor—it’s a scent. Unless you get one of the mint options, in which case you’ll get some mint leaf in there.

I also tried the coffee pouches. Again, there’s not much taste. I’m sure there’s coffee in there, but I mainly smell it. The pouches are small, and since I’ve never used pouches before, I assume that’s a normal size—though I’d personally prefer them double in size. The coffee seemed like it had potential, but unfortunately it’s only available in pouch form.

Overall, I was expecting flavors, not scents. All the varieties had the same odd base taste unless it was a mint, in which case it was just that same taste with added mintiness.

I broke down this week and started buying Smokey Mountain. It’s not great either, but at least it has some actual flavor. I think Jake’s has a lot of potential. I was excited that it had the least additives and was one of the cleaner products out there. But I think relying on flavor oils means he can release any “flavor” he wants—but it will be the scent of that flavor, not the taste.

I’ve never left a review before, but I had high hopes for this. There’s nothing bad about the ingredients or quality in that sense, but I was disappointed because I expected actual flavor. If you need the oral fixation satisfied and don’t mind a slightly weird oily taste, this might work for you. If you’re looking for the actual flavors listed, this won’t be it. Honestly, I wish I had bought just one can instead of the six-can sampler and saved the money.
