I found IPRS to be rather incompetent around dealing with mental health issues. Firstly, their processes are not great. For e.g., they will simply drop your case if you are unavailable for 7 days, say due to travel. Secondly, their customer service reps are not well trained for dealing with issues. Finally, I was appalled that they were not able to find any therapist for face to face in London, one of the biggest global cities!

Good experience - would recommend
I accessed IPRS through my Vitality health insurance, where I received an assessment and started my first CBT session very quickly after referring myself. I worked with Gemma who was so lovely and patient, she was always open to discuss anything I wanted and had a clear plan each session of what to discuss that would benefit me. I found the sessions to be really supportive of my issues and feel a lot more confident having completed them. Thanks again for all your help!
Does CBT work?
I was sceptical about the process but I threw myself into the CBT and followed the advice and instructions and it really helped me put things into perspective and challenged my beliefs. I had 9 sessions and at the end of the process I was a very different human to the one that started the course.
Great support
I accessed IPRS health through Vitality health insurance. The tools and techniques I learned throughout the sessions were invaluable to me. Jessica is so kind and approaches situations very objectively and without judgment. She helped me challenge my own negative thoughts and beliefs. I was guided in finding ways to deal with them in my daily life. I can better manage my emotional state. I can recommend it.
Helped me through some hard times
I accessed IPRS through my Vitality health insurance, the year started off with personal tragedy for me and I seeked help. I have been speaking to Hannah first weekly, then fortnightly, and then monthly whilst accessing the plan. I still have a couple sessions left but don't feel in such a desperate position to use them now until I feel I need them. Hannah helped me view things in different more positive ways with her counselling and various techniques. I would recommend it.
Excellent support
I have recently completed eight sessions of therapy and I cannot fault the support I received. My therapist was patient, understanding and gave me insight to my difficulties and how I can overcome them going forward. I would fully recommend this service to anyone needing a bit of extra support.
Forced me to spend 15 minutes answering…
Forced me to spend 15 minutes answering the same questions I had answered online already! I said this is pointless, nothing has changed. I feel the same. The woman was a robot and made me answer the questions anyway and said I would have to do it every week! Prior to this, I was matched with a Christian counsellor! Imagine being matched with someone who believes in imaginary tales from thousands of years ago. Nope, nope, no.
One star is too much!
Frankly, one star is too much. My therapist was delightful and very helpful, but the company as a whole have charged me £150 in 'Late Cancellation Fees' when this was discussed and approved with my therapist.
To clarify, I moved two appointments because I was called into important, last-minute meetings at work (which apparently isn't taken into account by the mental health experts who offer their services to people in business).
I have been forced to drop out of my helpful sessions of CBT so that I can be pulled into meetings as and when without receiving huge charges that have made me all the more stressed.
DO NOT USE IPRS
DO NOT USE IPRS.
I was referred to have a 15-min consultation with Mary, who gave me incorrect information & was completely out-of-touch. When I explained that I'm not at risk but I have been having issues, she decided to contact my GP & decided that I was at risk, which then meant they couldn't give me treatment. For one, if someone's at risk - surely, they need counselling?! Secondly, I would know since I'm the one struggling & she made the decision that I was at risk based on one question. Thirdly, she contacted my GP without my consent. Now had I actually been at risk, this would have really got to me & may have even caused me to act on those feelings.
Please don't let what the consolation/ supposed "trained advisors" get to you - they haven't a clue what they're talking about. 3 questions is not enough information to provide an accurate understanding of an individual's mental health & the way I was treated left me feeling worse. It takes alot to ask for help & I was left feeling completely deflated. DON'T USE IPRS.

I would avoid this company like the plaque,1 star is too much.
I was referred by my company to IPRS And I answered no to 3 questions during phone assessment they come to the conclusion I potentially had a serious condition and was sent home from work until further notice. They also withhold information regarding my needs.I spoke to a Manager and they talk utter rubbish, also tell lies as well.
Awful and dangerous counsellors
If you have genuine mental health problems, do avoid this company at all costs. I was referred for online CBT with Tara, who didn't listen to my needs, and I left feeling worse than when I started. I don't believe they recruit qualified counsellors and are treading dangerously and I think putting themselves at high risk for a very dangerous situation for the clients. I am making a formal complaint at the suggestion of my GP, who confirmed that the advice I was given was very much not legal.
What a waste of time
What a waste of time. Referred through Vitality, got charged multiple times for robotic service.
very helpful and practical.
Poor Listening Skills
I was referred to this company by vitality health for my physio triage. I found the call handler robotic and wouldn't listen to my needs / preferences. I ended up taking a physio that had a clinic closer to me, even though the IPRS call handler said I couldn't use this one. The physio even do home visits so the information given by IPRS was awful.
Their website fails to give accurate locations of their partners so you can't make an informed decision prior to the call and I felt very pressured to accept one of the 3 options presented - none of which were in appropriate locations
