I'd urge you to stay well clear of Insolvency & Law Limited.
When they're trying to get you signed up, they'll promise the earth.
Once they've got your money though, good luck getting hold of them or any action.
I came to them as a victim of two different loan note schemes in which I had lost of funds, Godwin Capital and 79th Group. Insolvency and Law were very reassuring at first, telling me they'd definitely recover my money.
After I paid their substantial fees of thousands of pounds, everything changed. Phone calls went unanswered, emails ignored. I wasted hours over numerous months trying to get hold of someone.
It's been years now and I haven't seen a penny back. I was taken for a ride.
If you search for Safe or Scam Insolvency and Law you'll find some revelatory and astonishing articles about them.
They target vulnerable people in desperate situations.
One more thing - their London office address is just a virtual mailbox service. I actually went there in person twice when Insolvency & Law would not reply to me and the receptionist eventually confirmed nobody from Insolvency & Law works on site. She said they just use it as a postal address and the staff work from home.
Do your homework before going anywhere near this suspect company and don't let them take your money like they did mine!

We engage with Insolvency & Law in May 2025 to collect a debt, within 24 hours we had emails , phone calls promising us their services. After a Hugh amount of phone calls that no one ever answer and a trail of emails, with little or no response, i have given up trying to contact Insolvency & law this company is awful, please do not use them.

Avoid at All Costs
I paid this firm a large deposit because I urgently needed help with a serious situation. Once the payment was made, communication practically disappeared. They stopped responding, offered no updates, and left me completely without the support I was promised.
In my experience, they take advantage of people who are already in difficult circumstances and deliver nothing in return. Paying them has only added stress and made my situation worse.
Deeply unethical behaviour, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. Avoid at all costs — there are far better, more reliable professionals out there.

Absolute criminals. Very good at taking your money, very bad at everything else. You will literally need to pay somebody to do what I&L are meant to be doing. It's a complete waste of time and money. And then you will probably end up in the Small Claims Court, trying to get your money back.
AVOID!!!
Update: they have replied saying they can't find me on their system. Says it all really. You have been warned!!

Insolvency & Law took me for a ride! Do not let them fool you too
I had a deeply disappointing experience with Insolvency & Law and feel compelled to share my story to help others.
I approached I&L seeking help for investments I had made in two loan notes which I hadn't got my funds back from. I was given the impression they would offer a professional and effective solution. However, the reality was far from what was promised.
Insolvency & Law took substantial fees upfront from me, claiming they would assist with getting my funds back. But, after I signed up with them, paid my fees and assigned my debts to them which they insisted on, their service was nothing short of a letdown. Despite the high fees and prior promises, I received little to no support. Communication was poor, and it became increasingly clear that they were more interested in taking my money than actually helping me get my funds returned.
What is highly concerning is the way they seem to exploit vulnerable individuals who are already struggling financially. It feels as though their business model relies on taking fees from victims of financial hardship and then failing to deliver on their promises!
In my case, after four years of excuses, I was left without any meaningful resolution and got nadda back!
Given the numerous negative reviews and reports of other clients of I&L facing similar issues, I would strongly advise anyone seeking help with financial matters to avoid Insolvency & Law. Their lack of professionalism, abysmal customer service, and failure to deliver on their promises make them an unreliable and potentially harmful choice for those in need of genuine support.
Do your research online about I&L and you will be shocked what they are like and the ruffians running the show at this outfit!

Insolvency and Law don't deserve even one star!
Insolvency and Law has earned an extraordinarily negative reputation among those who have been unfortunate enough to know them and to hire them. This company is infamous for exploiting individuals facing financial difficulties, taking substantial fees with the promise of recovering their funds, only to leave them empty-handed.
We entrusted Insolvency and Law with substantial sums for three separate investment cases involving financial losses incurred by my husband and I. Once they received our payments, their professionalism disappeared!
Not only did they fail to get any of our funds returned for a single case, but they also ignored my husband and I's large number of calls and emails when we saw our cases were going nowhere.
On the rare occasions we did manage to reach them, the response was always a string of excuses, without any accountability for their failures to deliver on their claims despite us waiting YEARS.
Don't be fooled by their slick marketing and exaggerated claims! Insolvency and Law operates without regulation and is not authorized to perform the services they purport to offer.
At its core, this company is little more than a boiler room operation, designed to profit off desperate and vulnerable individuals. Its directors are more interested in lining their pockets than providing real solutions.
The owner, in particular, has a well-documented history of underhand activity. After years on the run, he was eventually apprehended and convicted on multiple charges. His memoirs offer chilling insights into the harm to a large number of people he has caused over the years.
These behaviours continue.
Take my advice and steer clear of Insolvency and Law. You will regret engaging with them!

These guys are ambulance chasers
Everything below is from my experience and is my personal opinion.
These guys come across as ambulance chasers. They ask for huge fees, have no real experience of the law or legal proceedings.
In my experience they are very pushy sales people who only want you to sign over any claim you have to a company in administration.
I would not touch these people in handling any of my finances. They are preying on people who are already victims - which is sadly a solid business model!
Further to their response - I will add some more context:
Yes - I never engaged their services. They were asking for upfront payments and huge portion of whatever was recovered.
They have no way to influence the administration process wherever they tell you. They also seem to register their hours against the administration costs that then makes the whole group pay for their activities.
I have requested 3 times that they remove my data from their systems. They never respond and continue to bombard me with emails.
They have no data protection office listed on their site a given the type of data they deal with I’m sure this is some sort of breach of GDPR - as is the failure to remote my data.

• Breaches GDPR by contacting investors without proper authority;

Horrendous, negative experiences with Insolvency & Law
We have had an exceptionally negative experience with Insolvency & Law and would strongly caution others against engaging with this company!
The firm has a very questionable reputation within the industry, and our personal dealings have only reinforced these concerns.
The Director of the company has openly admitted to a history, over many years, of very serious criminal conduct in his published autobiography. His life of criminality resulted in him ending up behind bars as he writes about in his book.
Unfortunately, this character and background has influenced this company’s notorious way of acting.
In our case, we paid many thousands of pounds for their services and transferred the assignment of a substantial debt we were owed, based on their confident assurances that they would recover the funds within three months. Years later, we have not received a cent.
Once our payment was made, the level of service deteriorated dramatically. Communication ceased entirely: emails went unanswered, and phone calls were ignored. They became evasive and entirely unresponsive.
We have serious doubts about the authenticity of many five-star reviews associated with this company here and elsewhere. A clear, noticeable pattern emerges: the "reviewers" often post only two reviews — one seemingly random, often for a business abroad in Singapore or Cyprus etc, followed by a glowing testimonial for Insolvency & Law, with no further activity thereafter.
They are obviously paid, bought reviews.
We urge anyone considering their services to investigate thoroughly and exercise extreme caution. As so many people say, DO NOT go anywhere near Insolvency & Law!

No honest reply
After reading your answer, again you dodged round my question ,again I will ask. You would charge me 23% of the amount, 23,000 plus 6000 up front win or lose. So no matter what, you will get 6,000. If you get my money back, you gain another 23,000, making it 29,000. After searching I found out if I went on my own to the Ombudsman it would cost ZERO, and if I went to another professional company called Refundee, who only deal in these matters, it would cost me a MAXIMUM of 10,000. Can you explain that to me please, if not I can see why you get such a low rating on Trustpilot , you pray on people at their lowest.

Insolvency & Law specialises in complex debt recovery cases, and our standard engagement terms involve:
• An initial contribution of 6% of the debt value toward the costs of recovery; and
• A success fee of 24% of the funds successfully recovered.
For a debt of £100,000, your contribution would be £6,000, and the success fee upon recovery would be £24,000, both of which are transparent and outlined at the outset. The contribution offsets a portion of the significant legal and administrative costs incurred in pursuing complex, often contested recoveries. In many cases, actual costs exceed this initial contribution.
We respectfully highlight that debt recovery work differs significantly from Ombudsman services, which may not cover the same types of claims or offer the same depth of enforcement options. Likewise, while other companies may advertise lower fees, we encourage all clients to carefully review the scope, service levels, and success rates associated with any provider.
Our 17 years of experience has demonstrated that transparent fees and proactive recovery work deliver real results. Many of our clients recover substantial funds they otherwise would have written off.

Tamjida. Your review is not true. It is fake. We do not make unsolicited contact with any loan note holder. We only respond to loan note holders who make contact with our company. We have the public audit trail to prove we sounded the alarm bells a long time ago.

Marcia, was great she would respond back to me fairly promptly when I had questions about my claim and I'm not sure how she managed to keep up with everyone's questions and communications when there were many claimants.

Kevin, firstly, we have been subjected to a number of fake reviews and Trust Pilot do not have a robust system for removing them. We are well aware that our robust recovery actions have upset a great many number of debtors even solicitors, and debtors in turn have responded with fake reviews to damage our reputation. However, assuming your review is genuine. We make no apology for charging a 6% upfront fee in response to The 79th Group. You have no idea what costs and risks are committed by us in securing a recovery for those loan note holders who are seeking the recovery of their funds. Your complaint is therefore ill-founded. We have been successfully recovering funds for 17 years and have a documented proven track record of success. You can keep your 6% funds and 0% recovery in your pocket together with your 100% loss. You don’t hurt us. You only hurt yourself. We know the costs of our service more than anyone else.
Stay away
Stay away. I&L are taking advantage of a difficult situation with high fees upfront. I talked to many people who agree that they should be avoided
