Very happy with the service

Very happy with the service. Apple said it would cost £500 to fix my IPad Pro, cost £69 with imend and it works perfectly!!! All done within a few days

I submitted my phone via post for a battery replacement and received it back on the 4th working day. It was a painless process and communication was good throughout. The battery life of my 2 year old phone has almost doubled so it was definitively worth the money.

You need to provide access to your phone so they can test it before sending it back, but it can also be reset if you don't want to give out your PIN/password. Just remember to take a backup before you send it in.

This review does not come lightly. Mis sold and unprofessional. Zero proof of repair decline.

This review does not come lightly, as I tried my utmost to resolve the issue and find a suitable, reasonable solution with this firm - but the service was ultimately pretty dreadful.

We wanted to sell an iPhone 7 Plus but it had water damage and wasn’t turning on. After some research we read that iMend offered a ‘no fix, no fee’ if our phone could not be fixed. After 2 days of sending it in we had a text to call them. Shocked at the result ‘we couldn’t fix it but there’s no refund’. They claimed it was clear on the website, now I’m a relatively observant gent but yet I could not find this information on the website; it was misleading to say the least. Only when you go to purchase the repair it has a disclaimer on the right hand side of the page, but it wasn’t bold, clear or underlined.

When I questioned it and said it was a genuine misunderstanding and it really isn’t clear on the website, Mack agreed and said they are in the process of changing it, thus admitting the concerns. Went to their ‘management’ for review, but came back later that day stating Mack said there was no chance of a refund, which was very alarming. This was untrue and not professional. I argued the point, Michelle who claimed to be customer services manager, said there is nothing they can do after a 2nd review.

Admittedly, it should be the discretion of iMend to refund as there was a disclaimer on the site. However, it isn’t clear and I strongly believe they know how to make a quick buck. Their professionalism was lacking and unfortunately they never even provided a report of what was wrong with the phone - taking the £42 for themselves with no update.
I asked 3 times if I could speak to their management without avail, I got the feeling there was no ‘management’ and seemed like a one-man band with different names replying to mask the issue.

Terrible - do not use and currently filing for a refund with the financial ombudsman.

05.08 Received your reply thank you. I am happy to share the emails to anybody who needs as I’ve been Fair and honest. Again, I am not questioning and never have the detail on your website, I am merely suggesting that you enhance the visibility of the clause or highlight it, as it’s particularly hard to find! I also wanted to physically speak on the phone to management to relay my point which clearly has been missed. I never had the chance and wasn’t able to.

Very disappointed, still not understanding my point. For the sake of £35 it is a crying shame that an honest customer mistaking the clause due to it not being visible enough, is a decent point made. One also agreeable by your staff.

As per our discussion via private email. It has been explained to yourself that for "Liquid Damage Repair", we do not offer a "No Fix, No Fee" for this.

Please understand, that iMend offers an affordable price for this job and this repair really takes a lot of time. Below are the repairs we do for Liquid Damage.

The repair includes:

-Disassembling your device and assessing the Liquid Damage in the device and across various components.
-Putting your device and it’s motherboard through a deep chemical clean via our UltraSonic Cleaner to remove corrosion created from exposure to liquid.
-Manually cleaning the inside of the device to remove any evidence of further corrosion.
-Thoroughly drying the device out.
-Reassembling the device and testing all critical components to see if the liquid damage repair has been successful or if any additional repairs are required.

Whilst we do have an 80% success rate on our liquid damage repairs and we will do everything possible to try to restore your device to a functional working order, In some instances, your device still might not work after we have carried out this repair. Therefore, the fee for this service is chargeable whether the device is repaired or not.

For this reason, a refund is not possible.

Our website clearly stated this on the Terms and Conditions.
Just to back this up, a disclaimer on the side will also show when booking this repair
on our website.

I have escalated your concern to our manager and she stands for what is right and what we really have on our website. We have not violated any rules or policies so iMend will not be held responsible
for this confusion or misunderstanding you had. This conditions is never hidden and customers can view this freely and clearly.

iMend understands that we are serving the public so we have to be open about our Terms and Conditions as well.

Just so you know, some customers have raised this same questions and once we refer them on our website, they understand.


Still, we would like to extend our apologies if this has caused you confusions.

Update: Dishonesty demonstrated!

I am writing an update to the review below. Whilst almost impossible to believe that the experience could get worse, iMend have now effectively admitted to lying about their capability to retrieve the booking information. Subsequent to the review below they got in touch and DID finally retrieve the booking - which they had previously claimed they could not find without the original order number. (In 3 prior emails). They now claim that because we are now outside the warranty period that they can do nothing - even though they fully acknowledge I contacted them earlier. Had they provided the information they have provided now (which they claimed they could not) then they would have honoured the guarantee -but now, because of a delay caused by their false claim that they could not locate the information, they say they cannot. It seems remarkably like this was to avoid honouring a warranty. They have offered me a "10% discount" if I pay again for a service which I have already paid over GBP 100 for, and which they have failed to provide. I had offered to pay 50% of the cost of an entirely new order, to expedite. (ie Already paying for 1.5x repairs or in fact in total over 2x the current cost of a screen).
The legal helpline for my insurers have informed me that this should be a valid legal claim. It is a shame that ZenDesk think that the right solution is to invite a legal claim for their own errors.

Recently had my iPhone 7 screen replaced and within 3 weeks it has cracked around the speaker at the top. Despite not being dropped or mishandled. Technician Dan was rude ignored me and called me a lair and refused to help. Imend customer service was useless and didn't care less. Clearly the screen was a cheap replacement and now I'm paying the price.

We have done an investigation and this was booked under the name Alice Grigg.
When this warranty has been reported, we immediately contacted your technician
to rectify this issue as this is his responsibility.
Our technician has contacted this customer and was able to assessed the device.
A picture has been provided to us to confirm that the device was crack due to accidental damage and not because of a faulty screen. Therefore, a warranty claim was voided.

What the warranty does not protect against
The warranty in clause 13.1 does not protect against any of the following relating any relevant device which is the subject of the Repair Services:
(a) any mishandling that causes subsequent damage to the relevant device(s);
(b) water or other liquid damage;
(c) damage or faults resulting from attempted customer or third party repairs at any time;
(d) software issues unrelated to the repair and/or any damage resulting from viruses or other malicious pieces of software that may have been transmitted during servicing or escaped detection;
(e) any jail broken or “rooted” device;
(f) water proof devices, as iMend cannot guarantee the device(s) will remain water proof following the Repair Services;
(g) new damages unrelated to the original Repair Services; and/or
(h) any loss of data occurring as a result of the repair - customers are advised to back up all data on the device(s) to be repaired prior to the repair. iMend does not accept any liability for data or software which is lost, corrupted, deleted or altered during repair. You accept full responsibility for all software and data on your device(s) and iMend is not required to advise or remind customers of appropriate backup and other procedures.
The warranty in clause 13.1 does not cover the outcome of the Repair Services if certain pre-repair conditions exist in relation to the relevant device the subject of the Repair Services, including:
(a) existence of known manufacturing and/or performance issues related to the device(s) which is separate from the Repair Services, as noted prior to the Repair Services;
(b) water or other liquid damage;
(c) any jail broken or “rooted” device(s);
(d) pre-existing damage or faults resulting from attempted customer or third party repairs at any time;

Our technicians are willing to provide Warranty Repairs so long as this is a valid claim.

The screen is fixed but function isn’t

The screen is fixed and it was done very quickly however there was a slight colour change which didn’t massively bother me until I realised that the screen is not really working, it’s both super sensitive and not sensitive enough, e.g. it clicks on things when I’m trying to scroll and I can’t use Snapchat video anymore. Screen sensitivity has never been a problem with this phone before I replaced the screen.
