Exceptional Property Manager. Always went above and beyond

Jonathan managed our tenancy and was outstanding throughout. He was consistently supportive and made us feel genuinely looked after as tenants, not just another lease on his books.

Whenever we raised a request, he responded quickly — no chasing him for updates, no long waits for a reply. When issues required the landlord's input, he took the initiative to follow up and move things along on our behalf, which made a real difference in resolving problems without unnecessary delay.

If you're looking for a property manager who's responsive, proactive, and actually has your back as a tenant, Jonathan is exactly that. Highly recommend.

first time landlord with Hurford

As a first time landlord with Hurford Salvi Carr, I can say I was absolutely delighted with the experience. My flat was rented within 24 hours on going on the market, but most importantly the support from the team at Hurford Salvi Carr was first class. Throughout the process the team helped along every step of the way which was especially important being an overseas landlord. A huge thank you to Hurford Salvi Carr and I hope to work with you for many yearts to come.

Excellent Lettings and Sales Experience

Having worked with HSC as a landlord for nearly a decade and recently through the sale of that property I have found their responsiveness to be excellent. Clarity on fees and re next steps/ requirements has also been very helpful at a time when regulation in this space moves almost monthly. A specific thanks to Seb Sookermany for his help through the sales process with difficult solicitors as I doubt we would have completed as quickly without his assistance!

Avoid Hurford Salvi Carr and Hurford…

Avoid Hurford Salvi Carr and Hurford Salvi Carr Property Management at all costs.

Our experience with both the estate/letting agency side and the property management side was deeply disappointing. In our view, they operate with a culture that prioritises extracting fees and protecting their own interests over providing honest customer service or fair treatment to clients.

What is especially concerning is the apparent effort to distance “Hurford Salvi Carr Property Management” from “Hurford Salvi Carr” whenever negative reviews appear online. Reviews are reportedly challenged and removed on the basis that they are supposedly “different companies.” Yet a simple search on Companies House shows overlapping directors moving between the entities repeatedly. To any reasonable person, this appears less like separation and more like an attempt to manage reputation and avoid accountability.

Throughout our dealings, communication was poor, transparency was lacking, and we felt consistently misled and undervalued as customers. Problems were handled defensively rather than professionally, and the overall experience left us feeling taken advantage of financially.

This is not a company we would ever recommend. If you value honesty, transparency, and customer care, there are far better agents and property managers in London. Our experience was that Hurford Salvi Carr’s business practices are self-serving, profit-driven, and ultimately damaging to the people who rely on them.

Great Service, Happy To Help!

Couldn't fault our end to end experience with HSC. Me and my partner viewed multiple properties with Brandon who was well informed, more than happy to answer any questions, and not at all pushy during the process.

Upon having our offer accepted, the service HSC provided (through Brandon and Ada) was amazing, communicating next steps clearly, helping again with queries we had along the way. Would definitely recommend HSC - Thank you team!

Horrible experience with Sales Clerkenwell

I am writing again about my recent experience with the Sales department of HSC Clerkenwell, given that has been deleted on the pretext that the email address I used was not recognised.
I would like to reiterate that my experience with the sales department at the Clerckenwell branch, and Marco Fugaccia in particular was very negative and I have now opened an official complaint.
During my very painful sales process, which I was never convinced about, he was pushy, disrespectful, and even aggressive on the phone on a couple of occasions. Having ended up with a serious burnout during the sales process, which I paused on multiple occasions and which turned out to be quite traumatic, I felt constantly pressured and pushed to close this sale even though I wasn't convinced and was ill. I thought an estate agent was working for the seller, but on the contrary, all he cared about was closing this sale. Horrible experience with the sales department of HSC Clerckenwell

HSC has a strong foothold in the London…

HSC has a strong foothold in the London rental market combined with a team of efficient professional agents. Our search for tenants was completed in less than two weeks in a tense market thanks to the dedication of HSC staff. A serious company for serious landlords.

I spoke with someone in sales, they were so rude and condescending. for that reason alone, i wouldnt look to buy anything through them

Faulty towers plus

Looking for new tenants on a managed tenancy basis for my quality 3 bed flat in E1 we approached Michael Jones. I should have read Trustpilot first because my experience is mirrored in the one star ratings.

A long saga of incompetence followed but the crowning farce came at the end when, having left the vacant flat in a building with 24 hour concierge in perfect condition, i received a list of ten issues that required urgent attention. Appliance reported to be faulty, full clean required etc. It turns out that the "management team" at HSC do not know how to turn on the hot water, or use a dishwasher or turn on an oven to check these and other appliances. This was the last straw in number of faulty tower type faux pas i terminated in the nick of time.

It appears that they employ services which will do this all for you at a cost! Please read the Trustpilot comments. I do feel sorry for more competent personnel like Javier Lauret who was much more competent but came to the rescue too late!

Highly Recommended – 16 Years of Excellence

I’ve been letting my flat in the Covent Garden area with Hurford Salvi Carr for more than sixteen years, and I couldn’t be happier. They are very knowledgeable about the central London residential market and changing landlord regulations. Consistently proactive and professional, they make the whole process smooth and stress-free. I trust their advice and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable estate agents in the area.

Awful people

Awful people, we signed a year lease with them and they withheld the fact that their client (our landlord) was selling the flat. Only 3 weeks after we moved in did we receive an email from our landlord saying “the flat had been for sale for a while” and that she wanted to let us know she may book some viewings during our tenancy. We then emailed Hurford salvi carr asking to explain the situation and they denied that the flat was for sale even though we had attached the email we received from the landlord. They continued to deny the situation, showed no sympathy and didn’t offer to help us in any way and just said that if we wanted to leave we’d have to wait for our break clause. They also managed the building we were renting in and we spoke to a couple of flat owners and they also said they are a terrible company. Avoid at all costs if you can.

bad check out experience

My first tenancy manager was great but after they left the tenancy management was just not attentive any more, and the tenancy managers constantly changed with emails getting bounced around. The check-out process was particularly annoying - managers going on leave several times, which is fine if they need to but nobody covered for them and the check-out and return of deposit just dragged on and on. Their staff also made stupid mistakes that tested the limits of your patience.

The most professional agents in Aldgate

Bought a flat through them (Aldgate Branch). Tom Hill was amazing from the first viewing up until I received my keys. It was a challenging transaction but he was always there to support. Very happy with the service and will use them again in the future to either resell my property or manage it.

Worst and most unprofessional estate agents in London

Worst estate agents I've encountered in the 10 years I've been living in London. Especially the Clerkenwell Branch.
Terrible at managing the property. Made a mess during the move in by passing personal details to a third party that made a complete mess of setting up false accounts.
Very unprofessional behaviour during the move out. They kept lying to keep money from the deposit for cleaning costs.
Avoid if you want a decent smooth tenancy experience.
