Howdens Canterbury.Excellent work to design and supply a new kitchen. James the kitchen designer visited our home to measure, discuss possibilities and then design. He was knowledgeable regarding the many potential options and gave good advice. Following the fitting by Sam Bowditch (Joinery) the result is a well-designed and fitted kitchen at a sensible price. We discovered that what is behind the kitchen doors is very important.

Excellent service from start to finish from Howdens. A few issues encountered due to our old house with wonky walls but no problems in exchanging items and everything collected and delivered quickly and efficiently. We even got a refund as some items not needed and this was processed straightaway. Great quality kitchen too. I definitely recommend Howdens in Canterbury.

When we contacted Howdens, we arranged a home visit to plan our kitchen. Michelle, one of the designers came out to us. I found her to be very pleasant and totally professional. She had some really good ideas, helped us choose our products and nothing was too much trouble. We changed our minds a few times on the detail and she was very obliging in making these happen. Again nothing was too much trouble. Once we finalised our design she came out to check everything for our installer.
Our kitchen was ordered and arrived on time as requested.
Having had the installation completed l have to say that Michelle was first class from start to finish. It was a pleasure in dealing with a total professional. I would have no hesitation in recommending Howdens Wincheap. Thank you Michelle.

Our builder recommended Howdens at Canterbury and we were not disappointed. We had been to Wern, Magnet and others but they were a bit superficial they didn’t seem to understand their product and prices were confusing and changed continually. Where as our designer was professional and really understood the product and was able to help us design what we wanted. We were easily able to revise and update our design as the building work progressed, with the new designs arriving sometimes in hours. The product arrived when we wanted it and when we made last minute changes parts arrived at times on the same day. We have the kitchen we wanted, that was delivered when we wanted it and at a price the others could not match. Thank you and we would happily recommend to others.

Catlyn was really helpful in organising my doors and handles to go with. Spent a lot of time going through different styles that would suit my interior. Kept in contact when I would need my delivery. The doors are beautiful.

I called in to request a sample of MDF skirting for a customer but there were no samples available at the Folkestone branch so I will have to call into the local Benchmarx store instead.

I ordered a kitchen from Howdens - Canterbury, as my builder insisted many many times. On paper, you get better quality with less money. Actually, it is a good reason to buy from there.

Anyway, we got the kitchen delivered. I was just planning to work with my builder on it. Then, a major earthquake happened in Turkey, and I suddenly had to fly away for 35 days.

Every time I called my builder, he was complaining about missing pieces & wrong pieces etc. He claimed that he went to Howdens 5-6 times, but the pieces were still missing. I always assumed this was because of bad communication skills etc.

After I got back to the UK, I wanted to sort out this myself. But, again, I had to go to Howdens 3 times, no luck. Sometimes, we got the wrong color, the wrong dimensions, the wrong piece. Exhausting experience!

My designer in fact was very helpful at the start, but I realized that he doesn't have any control over warehouse availability etc. I asked him availability every time before we went to a Howdens warehouse in London, and they used to confirm back. But every time we went there, we encountered a different mistake in the warehouse. It might be because he was located in Canterbury, not in London, but still it should be Howdens' organizational problem, not mine.

Anyway, I already had paid £200 for initial delivery from Canterbury to London, plus my builder and I had to pay another £120 (estimated) for back & forth delivery of wrong pieces. I don't have a personal car yet, doing this on Uber / Zipcar cars was annoying as well.

We kindly asked Howdens to deliver missing pieces to my flat, but they wanted to charge another £100. So, we didn't accept it.

So, it turned out to be a more expensive and tiring experience.

I am planning to go to court.

Great customer service - rapid reponses - love dealing with Howdens Canterbury and Whitstable!

Surperb trained staff and honest having left my wallet on the counter containing a large amount of cash and returned 20mins later to find your member of staff had secured it.

Been a trade customer with Howdens for a number of years. Recently moved and started using the Canterbury branch. What a complete delight!! James supported us from start to finish and his polite and efficient customer service is what will keep us coming back for more in the future.
