Bunch of time wasters been trying to swap for 13 years
Also the website is annoying because they keep asking to change the password reset the password every two months.
Security reasons but it's ridiculous, why does it need to be changed so often.dumb

Really poor interface. I have been locked out and have repeatedly attempted to change my password. The website refuses to log me in when I do. Emailed support. No response 6 months + and counting.

I've been on this site trying to swap my house for literally years. People write to me saying they're interested and then when I say I am too, they ghost me. I just cannot believe how many times this has happened. I have a nice house and garden and all I want is to move to a different area and I'm even prepared to downgrade considerably, and still no luck! I think that people are more afraid to move since lockdowns and covid. In the past, I swapped my property several times over and it took around 2 months each time to find a successful swap. What is going on? I feel as though I am never going to get a swap :(

Antwort von HomeSwapper
It seems I've been here forever, people are too picky.
Either you want to move or you don't. What is the point of stating you want to move within the same postal code.
Don't make me laugh.
Also I think the site needs overhauling as the user interface experience isn't as smooth as it could be.
Last moan, I was approached then went to check out the area of the other swapper.
We were about to arrange viewings and then they stated they had made a mistake.
If I had another choice I'd be gone gone gone.

The experience was great and system very easy to use good luck to all

This site should have an option to leave feedback or rate users. The amount of time wasters I had to deal with. I drove 2 hours to view someone's home, then 2 hours back. When it came to view my property, they alleged a change of circumstances.
This is after the loser kept calling me, acting keenly before I decided to make the journey, I felt like sending my petrol bill to them and bill for my wasted time.
I feel majority are bored house wives with time on their hands or the jobless who have nothing else to do, than waste other people's time. Then you have the lairs, that say a family member died after agreeing multi-swaps. The amount of deaths I had someone tell me in 2 weeks is laughable. People should be honest and not so despicable as to lie.
Then you have people who don't want to move, it's a day out to view other people's homes. They need outing on Facebook, as the only way to stop time wasters.

Been on homeswapper for 6 years, desperately trying to find somewhere suitable with no luck. We have viewed many places and had people view ours many times too. So many time wasters and unreliable people- many flats in states of utter disrepair (one place stinking of smoke and filled with flies!)
The last lady who’s flat we had arranged to view cancelled on us the evening before, even though we’d spent £30 on a train ticket up to see the place.
It’s genuinely mind boggling that there are no contracts or liaison officers for this swap process. Many people in social housing are mentally ill, ex offenders or have intellectual disabilities. A lot of the people we came across seemed unable to even process basic information or communicate properly. I’ve read reviews of people pulling out of swaps with 5 days to go!
It’s a good idea, but terrible in practice. I doubt we will ever swap and the anxiety involved in wondering if someone will cancel, ghost you, or randomly pull out isn’t worth it. Most of the properties are in terrible areas too, or just tiny… or with terrible neighbours.
Granted, this isn’t really Home Swappers fault- it’s the fault of the government and the state of the U.K. in general. But surely the site could introduce contracts and people who can assist with viewings, messaging and arranging things- it would be a lot safer too. You never know who you’re giving your info to on here.
It's never been good, hardly ever matched to the area I want to go to, also they keep sending the same properties saying it a match, and not quite sure why you have to change your password every 6 months

I was lucky enough to to find what I was looking for fairly quickly. It was a three way exchange but all went smoothly with no hic cups.

Antwort von HomeSwapper
Lol, this site is a waste of time. Why am I even on it, these swappers adverts must be fake. I cannot believe that there is no one that really wants to swap.

This website is not fit for purpose. Due to the algorithm of garbage and the sites inability to allow basic commands such as requests for differing areas etc without logging off, viewing another chosen property outside it's useless algorithm, copying the page, then logging back in and pasting it. IT IS GARBAGE. They need to re design the whole site to accommodate a more user friendly facebook type of site. It is horrendously backwards. I do wonder WHO is financing this? The Housing associations and Councils who push you onto it must get some kind of financial dividends for all the placements. WHO is making money out of those trapped in social housing? Also, lets be real, there should be a disclaimer on each posting regarding neighbours issues and disrepair as your homes could be falling to bits, or your neighbour could have lots of ASB issues and the landlord will tell you to swap rather than deal with it. The whole sector is bent. This website exemplifies the ineptitude and chaos of the need for more movement. Simple searches do not work. Example. You may need a two bed but another person who "wants a one bed" is only looking to complete a 3 way swap. This whole site is a MASSIVE time waste. I wish that Gumtree still existed before eBay bought it. They had the only effective page in the country.
NB the response exemplifies my point. I stated that the algorithm disallows you to look for what you want. Therefore it is better to log out of the truncated search for a property in the area that you would like then copy and paste it and reopen your website in log off to be able to view it. Your algorithm excludes properties that would be interesting to people. Therefore the only way to view them is to block off the algorithm by signing out. Copy, paste then sign back in. The algorithm shows the same properties over and over and the simple search does not work.

Unbelievable still has the older homeswapper app, that do not agree with later Android phones. Since June this year, unable to search for any properties on phone.
There seems to be only one admin staff there who is absolutely useless.
Today found another glitch, do not even allow you to save properties, what next! And pointless asking support staff, absolutely useless.

Waste of time. I am in a 60 plus retirement development and get 100% matches with people not meeting the age requirements or looking totally different locations.
Raised this with homeswapper and all I got was a reply saying my age restriction was taken into account and any 100% matches met this criteria which is not the case.
There should be a section in advertisers details showing their rough age group as its just not fit for purpose as it is
