I rarely leave reviews

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Homeessentialdirect.com has been beyond frustrating.

I ordered an ECM Fan Control Board for my HVAC unit and paid extra for express shipping (advertised as 1–3 days). It has now been over a week, and I have received absolutely nothing—no package, no shipping update, no communication whatsoever.

What’s worse is the complete lack of customer service. No follow-up, no status update, no accountability. When you’re ordering a critical HVAC component, timing matters, and this company clearly doesn’t understand—or care—about that.

At this point, it feels like I paid for expedited service that simply doesn’t exist. If you value reliability, transparency, or even basic communication, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Extremely disappointing experience.

Item Sold as In Stock, Then after a week i start asking for the status of shipping, they said its Out of Stock and will refund me,

I know this is in stock by the vendor, the vendor increased the price with a few dollars, so they lied that its out of stock,

I have no problem if they reach out to me that the price changed or is out of stock, THE PROBLEM IS THAT THEY IGNORED ME FOR A WEEK, UNTIL THEY RESPONDED THAT ITS OUT OF STOCK.

Item Sold as In Stock, Then Declared Out of Stock Right Before Delivery

I placed an order with Home Essentials Direct based on their website showing the item as available and with a confirmed delivery date of December 10. At no point during checkout or after placing the order was I informed that the product was out of stock.

Only when I personally called to confirm delivery was I told that the item was actually out of stock and asked if I wanted to cancel the order. This is completely unacceptable and shows a serious lack of transparency.

Had I known the item was unavailable, I would have ordered elsewhere immediately. Because of this, my construction project timeline was directly impacted and delayed.

Online retailers must clearly disclose stock status before taking payment and confirming delivery dates. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company.

BAD company

We ordered a carbon monoxide/propane alarm from them last month May 2025 they sent us one date stamped 2019, when I asked they said date doesn't matter when you plug it in it will know and last 5 years, LIES
I asked to get an exchange or a refund they said I should get ahead of the warehouse so they can test it, THEN if the warehouse says it's bad then will refund me LIES, I asked for info on warehouse NO reply 3 times.i reported them to the BBB and they told them they gave me an address and RMA and unfortunately I didn't return item LIES, I even said there replies to the BBB. Proving they were LIARS.. it cost $63 I mean really you LIE and don't do good business over $63 AWFUL

RV fridge purchase

I just bought, and received a Dometic 3 CF refrigerator for my 2004 Roadtrek campervan from Home Essentials Direct. When I saw the price I ordered it. Only then did I read some of the reviews. Then I got somewhat nervous.

It was supposed to arrive in 4 business days (Jun 4). I got nervous when it didn't show. It did arrive yesterday. Now all was good.

I had it drop shipped at a RV repair shop and it's being installed as I write. So far, I'm very pleased with the purchase. And the price was absolutely unbeatable.

Stay away

Stay away. Sent me a completely wrong toilet bowl which I cannot use and then they have the audacity to tell me to keep it and "donate it to charity". They are not offering me to send the correct toilet I ordered, either. Now I have a huge 55lbs box in my hallway and zero progress on replacing a broken toilet.

I ordered Rob Vac trusting the Ads--it is not as described --nor does it Work..defective. They promised a Full Refund . I have asked for refund ..they are refusing. Offered me 20 % to keep them. I said -No-defective. Now they are insiting to keep their Cost down--I must Pay for the Return. They claim to be a Manufacturing Com any who makes the Robo-Vac..it looks like a Chinese Shipped Product. Cheap--Light Weight. The VAC runs around the House Picking up Nothing..no Hair-no Dust, etc.(*Useless)I did not find this BBB Link until Today --I was looking for wrong name. Now I see the Complaints listed below..same as my Complaint. They sent me the wrong part

They sent me the wrong part! I ordered part # 100110759LP a burner for a LIQUID PROPANE WATER HEATER! They sent me a 100110759 witch is for a natural gas water heater! The LP at the end of the number stands for LIQUID PROPANE!!i HAVE EXPLAINED THIS TO THEM AND THEY REFUSE TO TAKE ANY ACTION TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM!! So they have $176.00 of my money, I have no hot water! And I have a $176.00 of junk.

A bunch of clowns!!!!
I was looking for a mechanics creeper and found the one I wanted (GearWrench KDT86995) on their site. I called first to make sure it was in stock. The rep assured me and said they had 49 in stock!! So I put in my info, credit card number etc. and proceeded with the purchase. One hour later I received an email from them telling me that they were sorry but my item was NOT in stock. I called to cancel my order. The customer service rep from some foreign country I spoke to said the credit would be processed. A half hour after that another email arrives telling me my order was processed and now shipped! I was livid now. I called again and their rep told me they could not cancel the order because it was already in shipping and "TO REFUSE THE SHIPMENT" when it arrives. So I did when FEDEX arrived I refused the shipment. They did NOT refund my entire purchase and deducted 15% restocking fee, and that took 10 days, according to their website you must receive RMA (return merchandise authorization). repeated phone calls and emails were a waste of time, no one responded to my emails or request to speak to a supervisor. STAY AWAY FROM THESE FOOLS! I've told all my friends not shop with them and to pass the word to others.

I ordered 14 toilet tanks that I verified with a phone call that they said they had in stock, I spent $1,500.00 and they shipped a different part that would not work with the bowls I have.
The customer service told me that if I would send them back and pay the approximate $600.00 in freight they would issue a refund if it was received in perfect condition at the correct address and labeled correctly, I asked why I should have to pay for their mistake and he responded with that is just the way it is.
Don't buy from them if you do you may regret it!

As described, on time, great price & communication

My experience with HomeEssentialsDirect was excellent! Multiple companies use the name "Home Essentials...". I believe at least some of the bad reviews for HomeEssentialsDirect may be confused with "the other guys". I ordered an RP-30Q RV furnace core (replacing Suburban SF-25Q). HomeEssentialsDirect had the lowest price I could find ($75 less than big name building center that offered same item), also free shipping, plus expedited shipping for only $10 more. I was a bit worried about poor reviews, but since they were very mixed and some reviews mis-stated the name I suspected there was confusion so I went ahead and took my chances - I ordered Jan 19th. I paid extra for the expedited 4 day shipping. The tracking number given on the order confirmation did not show which carrier was used, just said "Fast Shipping". This worried me so I googled the tracking #. Number was not recognized by any of the carriers so I became more worried. I emailed HomeEssentialsDirect customer service and to my relief received response in less than 24hrs - this is a very telling factor about the company, bogus or shoddy companies do not respond in timely manner. Customer Support Specialist, James L. clarified carrier used and provided a link for the tracking (oddly email didn’t show HomeEssentialsDirect anywhere, it came from: zappysalescomsupportATzappysales.freshdesk.com). At 1st I thought it was a bogus link to a "Look-alike" website because I had already entered the tracking # in that carriers website and it was not recognized, but amazingly, now it was recognized... maybe I tried it before carrier's website had updated? Item arrived as predicted on Jan 25th...yea! Box was clearly marked as "This Side Up ONLY" yet it had obviously been on every side with unnecessary force (Boo UPS). The internal packing was poor allowing the furnace core to slam around - amazingly nothing was broken. I assume core was packed by mfgr./supplier (possibly in China), HomeEssentislsDirect was only forwarding it to me - this was not their fault. I installed furnace and...it did NOT work...arrrgh! Had to pull it back out to trouble shoot...found a wire connector slipped off it's terminal - likely during it's rough transport...no fault of HomeEssentialsDirect. Reinstalled furnace and it's working great! Just in time for the freezing weather...Thank You HomeEssentialDirect! I definitely will try 'em out again.

I am very disappointed with Home…

I am very disappointed with Home essentials direct. I havent yet received my order as Evri/Hermes cant be bothered to deliver to me. I have asked Home essential for a refund. I have supplied all my details to them, they appear to be delaying giving me a refund by asking for my details again. So I have paid money in good faith yet no goods have been delivered and as yet no refund confirmed
