It is with regret that I have to give Holland Pointing such a low rating.
Jake's lads did a lovely job pointing the walls of my house and were pleasant to have on site. However throughout the job communication has been poor, with workers turning up unannounced and not turning up when expected.
Stone restoration was done to a very low standard and some other work is still outstanding despite many promises and opportunities to put this right. Work started in October and although rain was an issue some of the time - it's now July.
As with any trades person I would advise holding back your final payment until your work is finished to your satisfaction.

jake and his team did an amazing job pointing my house They were very professional and focused on detail. They gave me a date and came on time every day. You can see that they are honest both in the quote they gave me and in the time they spent to make sure the pointing was perfect and to my liking. I would 100% recommend them and will be using them again in the future.

After payment, then they are not prepared to finish the job.
The issue with HPS is regarding a wall that had a lean to built over it. Today (21st May) Jake insists that pointing of the house wall inside that lean to was never in scope. I am sure that it was.
The raking team did not want to do their work inside the very small lean to, so it was agreed during a visit by Jake that it would be demolished, and then they would return.
Demolition was completed on 27th April, and Jake was sent a picture, and replied that they would 'sort it'. Several messages were sent by me that it had to be completed by 19th May when some pipe work would be installed on that wall. A snagging crew came on Sunday 18th May, but they had not been told that there was an area 2m by 2m that needed raking and pointing - so the work was not done.
Now it is the 21st and the installation is on the wall and the job is not done, despite two promises on WhatsApp that it would be sorted in time.
And today Jake is asking for an additional £300 to finish the work, and alleges that the wall inside the lean to was never in scope.
The cost of the whole house pointing was £7930, and like a fool I paid in full before this final section was completed because he claimed he needed the money to pay wages.
Now that I'm unhappy, lets point out all the other minor issues.
The team arrived a day late after running over on a previous job. Jake never came for snagging review as promised. The raking team left bags of dust on the scaffolding, and the scaffold collection company just threw them on the floor, and no doubt they laughed as they burst. Given that nobody came in time from Holland pointing I had to sort out the mess.

In summary.
I think Jake is too busy to sort out the small final part of this project. I think he is very cheap to ask for £300 after receiving nearly £8000. I never want to hear from him again. I will certainly not pay any more. And even if he now offered to complete the work, I don't want him or his company here again.

Putting it simply, if you’re looking for a pointing contractor, shop around by all means but don’t waste your time as you’ll not find a better bunch of guys than Jake and his team at HPS.
From the first meeting with Jake it’s obvious he knows his stuff. I had read up about lime pointing on period properties and there’s much to learn which became totally apparent when talking with Jake.
Quoted cost was similar to others.
The whole process was handled extremely professionally, from the scaffolding team, the raking out team, the pointing lads and another group of lads who came to clean up afterwards, you just can’t fault any of them. A Great, Friendly and Extremely Professional team.
Attention to detail and any snags were well sorted out, even going the extra mile with a small structural problem on our house.
Well worth the wait due to the poor weather conditions at the time and their busy, booked work schedule.
Rest assured, these lads and their work ethic are a very rare find.

I had a very disappointing experience with this trader. The project involved grinding and repointing the exterior walls. They left some touch-up work incomplete due to wet ground conditions and damaged a brick while grinding. They promised to return to fix these issues but broke their promise.

Despite paying them in full (£2068) on 17 July and repeatedly chasing them up, they refused to complete the job. To make matters worse, they eventually blocked my number instead of resolving the problem.

This behavior shows a lack of professionalism and a complete disregard for customer trust. I strongly advise others to avoid this trader if you value reliable and honest service.

Jake kept me informed from start to finish, yes we had a little delay ( British weather 😡) but Jake was brilliant. His lads have done a fantastic job and cleaned up afterwards. I would highly recommend this company.

Jake, Jordan and Liam have done an brilliant job on the house. Started of with dust extraction to grind out the old pointing so there wasn’t as much dust. Then they came back and did the pointing. Jake has excellent customer services skills! Each day they made sure it was left clean and tidy. Little mess as possible. All were very polite. Reasonably priced and would not hesitate to recommend.
