Don’t waste your money with this company
I purchased a car had multiple problems, gave an honest review and got a reply to contact them so they could look into it (even though I’d complained and nothing was done). I emailed as the response said in April, and had nothing. I followed up in May with another email and still no response. Worst service from a car dealership I’ve ever experienced! Don’t waste your money.

Not the best customer service
I visited this garage today to view a car I was potentially interested in purchasing, but unfortunately the experience left a lot to be desired, having driven an hour to get there to see the car.
As soon as I arrived, the focus seemed to be on my current vehicle rather than the car I had come to see. I was asked for my keys so they could assess my car before I had even been allowed to view the vehicle I was interested in.
I explained my budget and asked whether there was any flexibility on the figures. I was told there wasn’t, which is fair enough, but I was then effectively asked to confirm that I could make the finances work before I had even seen the car. I wasn’t asking for a test drive, just a chance to look around the vehicle so I could decide whether it was worth pursuing and potentially increasing my loan amount.
When I asked to see the car, I was told it would take 20–25 minutes to prepare, and there seemed to be little interest in showing it unless I could first commit to the numbers. I was also greeted with “Oh, we thought you weren’t coming until 3,” which immediately made me feel as though I was inconveniencing them. I even said to them I don’t mean to waste anyone time when the manager came over to discuss. I just felt like an inconvenience.
Overall, I felt pressured and unwelcome rather than valued as a potential customer. Buying a car is a significant financial commitment, and most people would reasonably expect to be able to view a vehicle before being asked to commit to funding it. As a result of the experience, I decided not to proceed and I did not see the car. I just wanted to leave.

I came across Hippo Motor Group when I was doing a google search on cars. I wasn’t sure I 100% wanted to change at the moment, but I gave it a go. I applied online and with a poor credit score I thought no chance… next minute all approved and I was searching cars. My account manager Connor was incredible. I did give him a bit of a challenge finding me something due to some negative equity on my current car, as well as a list of features the car needed to have, and I must say he smashed it out the park! He was friendly, patient, kept me updated throughout the process and made sure the car was right for me. The whole process was super easy, from signing documents to arranging delivery.
The delivery by Andy Barbour was absolutely seamless. He kept me updated via text message, and was here when he promised he would be. He helped me sign documents, let me look around the car and was generally chatty and friendly! He also made the whole process so easy. I love my new car, it’s in mint condition, all paperwork, locking wheel key etc given to me. I WILL definitely be back in around 3 years time for another vehicle! Thank you, Connor, Andy and Hippo!

Not impressed with response
I would like to add to my ongoing saga of having bought a used Corsa EV from the Hippo Motor Group. The fault that appeared after around a year after I bought this car (ELECTION TRACTION SYSTEM FAULT) is still unresolvable and undrivable after being at a Vauxhall specialist dealer for around 3 weeks now still trying to rectify the fault after having already replaced an expensive part. So far the cost of repairs of this car are around £3,000 plus for a car I paid over £10,000 for in 2024. The fault was inherent and manifested itself within around a year after purchase and clearly serious and the car should not have been sold in that condition and the decent customer care approach would have been to have offered a contribution towards repairs for a car that clearly had serious faults developing. I am a man in my late 60s who drives carefully with a young family and can not afford to keep paying out for repairs. I am very disappointed with the way Hippo Motor Group have handled this situation as the trauma of owning a car with a developing fault sold by them continues to cause stress, inconvenience and upset to me and my family. I am also in contact with Vauxhall over this matter.
