We visited Hickory’s Smokehouse in Wall Heath yesterday to celebrate our brother and sister-in-law’s birthdays, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. We were served by young Fraser, who really went above and beyond to make the occasion special. His communication was excellent, nothing was too much trouble, and he delivered everything with a genuine smile. Fraser even tempted us to order a little more — and we’re glad he did, because the food was absolutely delicious! Thanks to Fraser and the team, we had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back.

We went for a birthday meal tonight 16/09/2025 at the wallheath hickory’s smoke house for mine and my wife’s birthday we had a great meal food was excellent our server (Fraser) was a very polite young man and very attentive we definitely would like Fraser to be serving us on our next visit 😊😊😊😊 overall a great experience thank you 😊😊😊😊

Been looking forward to visiting the place as I loved the concept. I booked online and was asked if I would like an outside hut. Great, I would, box ticked. When we arrived we were informed they don't have huts? No big deal, after they've recently opened, mistakes happen. We were shown to our table and very soon the waitress arrived and asked what drinks we'd like and were we ready to order food. In this particular case we'd decided already, so we ordered. We order a very a big platter with most of the item on the grill menu. Within 5 minutes it was on our table, we were surprised how quick it came. The food was average but the ribs were stone cold. I guess they forgot to heat those up in the 5 minute rush. Then we asked for the bill. When we got it it had a pet hate of mine, a service charge added. Although discretionary and a quote on the bill if you dont want to pay it, thats ok, just say and it will be removed without awkwardness. They obviously dont get the concept of awkwardness. Overall it wasn't awful and if it was around 20% cheaper would have been good value. If you are going to charge high end prices, you've got to give a high end service. I wouldn't go back. Not because of the quality and price but I just didn't really like the taste of things and the fact we spent close to £100 for just the main course and was in and out in 35 minutes, very rushed. You may think I'm being hard and thats fine, I'm just relaying my experience. I wouldn't tell people not to go, just what to expect. I did mention things to the waitress as well.

We went for a meal , 6 of us for my daughter’s 16th birthday .
Meal was nice . We gave details of daughter’s birthday and name for the staff to sing happy birthday and give a sparkler and cake that they do …… however this did not happen , we were forgotten . I was gutted for my daughter who was watching other tables get the experience and not her , 16th birthday was ruined . We paid and left . We did mention it on the way to go , staff were apologetic however , doesn’t cut it

Made a booking online, the server wanted us to sit in a door way but we asked to be moved which he did without hesitation. The waitress who served us was delightful and attentive .. well done Eva!! The food was fantastic !!! The meats all done to perfection .. so much we couldn’t finish it.

I need to let you know about my experience in Hickories today, firstly I appreciate we didn’t book a table we rocked up and were happy with whatever could be offered, they sat us in the main room which was fine on a high table by the kitchen, this is where we start to experience what I cannot even explain as the most chaotic loud and uninviting seat I’ve ever sat in, the woman who sat us granted was lovely and took our drink order straight away, from that moment though all we could see and hear was chaos, staff swearing in front of us, one of the staff talking about his stint in jail and what he got up to in prison, constantly just shouting at each other about there weekend plans, what looked like the head chef telling people to shut the F*** up, I’m all for talking about your life at work but when it get inappropriate and your talking about it infront of people who are just trying to enjoy a meal it’s a bit of a joke! The staff seemed to be all over the place, we ended up waiting 20 minutes in between our starter and main and the staff member came over to ask if we wanted the dessert menu at which point I have to tell the embarrassed man I’m still waiting for my main in which he then has to apologise and says he must be at the wrong table!
At one point the worker who stands there and doesn’t run food just shouts yes please every 5 seconds and when the staff wouldn’t come he would say where the F*** are they and then screams yes please again.
I fully get we didn’t book but any table in the restaurant, but whether you booked or not it should be a nice environment to sit in to enjoy your meal and when I pay £92 for the pleasure of it too, it’s pretty poor service, the food was lovely so it’s a shame it’s completely let down by what seemed like a kids playground!!!

We visited the Horbury located, we've been many times before and it's always been amazing. The food and the staff have been second to none. We visited yesterday and didn't want to sit in the doorway so asked if we could move down a table (it was around 3pm and the place was virtually empty). The young lady serving us pulled a face and went away, came back a minute later and took us to a new table. From then, she was just contemptuous and horrid in that 'mean girls' I seem to be nice but I'm not kind of way. She ruined the experience for me which is a shame as we are out for the day for our 20th wedding anniversary. I won't be hurrying back.

Went to the Leicester restaurant today and after 45 minutes waiting for food asking the waitress how long to find out our order wasn’t put threw to the kitchen, very disappointing the service was very slow as the waitress seems to go off for long periods at a time even thou it was lunchtime and wasn’t many customers,

Went to Hickorys at Chellaston, Derby on Saturday and had a great time. Food was lovely, service was good, and the atmosphere was great.
Our family all had a great time and the kids loved it. The prices were reasonable as well. I would recommend for a fun night out.

Went to Hickory smoke house Shrewsbury, food was good but service was awful, drinks took an age to arrive, food arrived after a long wait, we asked for some napkins, didn’t arrive, asked another waitress still no napkins, asked a third or actually got them, asked for the bill which took 25 minutes to come (asked 4 times) I asked for the tip to be removed when she asked why? I said the service was awful, she said ok. Won’t be going back.

The most delicious food ! Like the brisket FELL OF THE BONE - The food was divine we had a platter between 3 people and still needed doggy bags , it was incredible.
Also I was indecisive between 2 drinks Lily and Harry offered me to try both drinks they poured half a drink in a cup which was so kind (which meant I had a whole drink for free they were so kind 😭
And Jazz the manager was excellent she offered me an extra try of the grape soda too !
It was INSANELY DELICIOUS

Just took my partner for her birthday meal at hickorys wrexham. Great service great food staff were really good couldn't fault anything with the whole meal definitely worth a visit guys

Disaster at the smoke house!!!!!
started bar staff diD not know a larger shandy from the bitter shandy i ordered !!!!
the waitress who seated us could not tell us what the breakfast had in it she said mushrooms she thinks!!
The chicken my wife had was so cold it seams like it justcame out of the fridge
i had the ribs and they were so dry no bbq sauce from the bottle could revive them
waitress asked if meal ok i told her no she said oh ok
no one came after that i thought atleast manager would been told
then on way out staff meber must of over heard moaning about meal
she followed us out side and we told her eveything including what i said i have had better ribs from aldi
the manager and i think assistant was outside looking at the staff member talking to us and did not approach us at all
staff member said we would hear from some one and no one has been contacted
i will never step foot into one of these restaurants
again terrible service and bad food

Our first visit to Hickory’s Earlswood was a real treat, gifted to us by our youngest son, and it completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the little touches stood out – water and popcorn on the table as we sat down, and Mr Whippy ice cream!.
We were mainly looked after by Lisa, who was brilliant, but every member of staff we spoke to was friendly and helpful. They even talked us through the gluten-free menu and explained the ingredients, which made such a difference.

It was our first time visiting and definitely won’t be our last – highly recommend it if you want great food and outstanding service.

Went yesterday for a birthday meal for my step-dayghter….

I don’t know how to put this any other way….

Been awake all night, vomiting and peeing out my back passage.

I don't really know where to begin, our experience there was terrible. We arrived and stood in the entrance by the booking in point and where completely ignored. When we were finally seated,they did not ask about allergies ( I have coeliac disease). They were slow to serve and the food was dreadful. We ordered the wings and bacon bites and they were both saturated in sauce and the cheese sauce was lumpy. Then I ordered the half chicken and the chicken was tough and tasted funny and the coleslaw was rank and inedible. Nandos is amazing in comparison. My husband was also unimpressed with his half rack of ribs. The table was also sticky and when we asked for the bill, we waited that long to pay and we could see the waitress laughing and joking around we actually got up to pay. We also noticed they had added a tip for service! What service!! Won't be going again.

Visited the branch at Nuthall. Bit of a round up of multiple visits to this site.
The staff were so lovely. The service was consistently good. We were treated very well and made to feel special.
Food was always well presented hot and delicious. My only gripe is that I don't have one near where I live. 😥

Hickory Worcester booked a table for three service was average food was lukewarm or cold. Went to pay the bill I was asked if you can’t pay the bill you can volunteer to wash up. I take it she thought I could not pay the bill as I was dressed in a boots, jeans, and vest and I have tattoos well just to let them know I earned more in a day what they would earn in entire year so do not make a decision on the way somebody dresses or looks
The bill was £133. It’s not a big deal to me. But the lack of manners and service and quality of food is don’t think I’ll be bothering again. Only went here cause it was recommended. I take it the recommendation was a while back so the quality of service and food has gone gradually down. Oh well you live and learn 

Hickory's Lincoln - very disappointing. We booked for a wedding anniversary clebration, asking for a really good table, which they acknowledged. When we arrived we were just given a regular table for two, almost elbow to elbow with the neighbouring diners. I asked about a better table and was told they would check - but then they didn't even come back to me.
That was a bad start but it got worse. The shrimp cocktail sauce was without any flavour. The salads which we had, both as a main and as a side dish, were basically all lettuce with just a few additions. I don't like the idea of paying Hickory's prices for plates of lettuce. The service was poor - the "napkins" are rolls of kitchen towel on the table. Ours had run out and we had to ask three times to get it replaced. My wife ordered a chicken and watermelon salad without Feta. She got the salad (mainly lettuce) with feta but no water melon.
The rib that I ordered was tasty but quite small.
Overall our first (and probably last) experience of Hickory's was a big disappointment.
