When we arrived, the type of car had rented was not available in the President’s Circle, Lane. When I went inside, I got in line, but a lady popped her head out of the office and saw me waiting in line and came right out. She asked me how she could help when I told her what happened she said, give me just a second and she went and found the type of car I needed. Her sense of urgency and desire to make things right was very impressive. The car was perfect. It made me feel that our experience mattered.

Friendly staff, easy pick up and return.

Hertz is now scanning your car as you exit and enter the lot in Raleigh. You will be fined HEAVILY if there is any change as noted on the scan, even if it is not noticable to the naked eye. My car was OK'd as I returned it by a friendly Hertz employee who walked around my vehicle, but two hours later I received an alarming email stating the scan detected 'damage' and was fined $806. During the ensuing phone call I was told that if I'd purchased Hertz's insurance this fee would have been covered. I'm a Gold member, have rented from Hertz for years without incident, but am not sure about this new policy. Unsettling. Also, I just rented an intermediate sized car from Hertz for my next trip (9 days), and with insurance my total price was $1,100. Seems traveling got a bit more expensive with Hertz.

Hertz at RDU is fast and efficient. I made my booking online and was able to move directly to the lot and choose the car in my category.

The process for the most part was easy, kind and friendly staff, car was clean and great condition. I did the pre check in and was never told I needed to go inside. I looked at the text messages and emails I received and they all told me to go straight to the board and the area it said to find my car. I was only told that I needed to go inside prior when I was trying to leave. More clear communication would have been helpful in that situation.

Booking, Pickup and Drive-off were so easy !! Same experience dropping off the car.

I feel I was double billed $400 for the original billing , $500 for the final billing all that money spread out in mileage and all that was supposed to be part of the unlimited mileage deal. spent $900 to rent a car from you?

My flight got cancelled. When I finally got to hertz the sales representative tried to up charge me $100 a day for the same car I had scheduled. It felt like he worked off commission and was all about changing me more.

Staff was very customer friendly, very knowledgeable, easy to navigate booking process.

Free Goldstar membership allowed for a seamless pick up and drop off experience. I skipped the lines and went straight to a car parked in a designated area. I also had my travel plans delayed and extended my rental online with just a few clicks. Rental return was easy as well, handed the keys to an attendant and showed him my drivers license. The car was clean and comfortable at an affordable price.

I have been a hertz customer for over a decade, and normally quite satisfied-4-5 stars. They once helped me in a very human and compassionate way when there was a death in my family.. My last rental, however, was a different story. Upon returning the car, I received a message that the AI scanner had detected a series of dents of the roof of the car, and that the AI had determined I owed them 800$, including an almost 200$ service fee. The images of the scan show tiny tiny dents that are probably not detectable to the human eye. I certainly did not see them. How this resolves itself will determine whether I stay a hertz customer.
