This was probably my worst experience so far with Hertz. I did not receive the vehicle type I originally signed up for. Additionally, the new vehicle I was given shut off on us three separate times during use. I reported this issue to the lady who checked the vehicle back in as well. This vehicle needs to be inspected and serviced before it is rented out again to ensure it is safe and operating properly.

Staff is always nice and professional. Gets it right 100% of the time. Love this location! Give them all a raise, especially Carvin!!!

I rent cars for business trips every other week from the Hertz office in Mesquite (Gus Thomasson). The staff are very responsive and helpful every time I go. Excellent customer service. There is rarely issues with getting the car as reserved, but when it happens due to things they can't control, the staff work very hard to resolve the issue as quickly as they can.

The in person assistant made our rental experience excellent!! Customer was amazing and very people friendly.

Customer service was rude. Not able to explain themselves. It's like if you don't want to do what we want you to do to hell with you. I was over charged during my labor day rental. I tried to explain my situation but no, they don't want to hear me out.

It is fine, the quality of the car is super good and excellent. But sometimes they upgrade my vehicle because my reservation is not available. For me, I need the exact amount total so I can plan for spending. I would rate 4.5 because at least the car is super good

This was my first time booking with Hertz after a long time with Avis. I was amazed how quickly I got my car and was on the road, all done in less than 10 minutes! The staff was friendly and efficient, car was exactly what I needed it to be.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience renting from Hertz.
Three weeks before my trip, I reserved a premium vehicle—a Genesis sedan. A few days before pickup, Hertz sent me an email confirming the reservation, showing me the specific vehicle, providing pickup instructions, a confirmation number, and reminders about returning the car on time. Based on those communications, I had every reason to believe the vehicle I reserved would be available.
When I arrived on the day of my trip, I was told the Genesis was not available. Instead, I was offered a Buick SUV, a Nissan, or a Kia. While there is nothing wrong with those vehicles, they were not what I reserved or what Hertz had repeatedly confirmed I would receive.
When I asked when the Buick had arrived, I was told it had been received the day before. This made the situation even more frustrating because Hertz had ample opportunity to notify me that the vehicle I reserved was unavailable. A simple phone call, text, or email 24 hours in advance would have allowed me to adjust my plans or make a different reservation elsewhere. Instead, I was informed only after arriving at the branch on the day I needed the vehicle for travel.
To me, this felt like a bait-and-switch. Hertz continued sending confirmations for a vehicle they apparently had no intention of providing. No discount was offered, no proactive communication was made, and no effort was made to compensate for the inconvenience.
The only reason I am not giving an even harsher review is because of the outstanding customer service provided by the branch employees. They were professional, apologetic, understanding, and never made me feel unreasonable for being disappointed. They acknowledged my concerns, reassured me about the replacement vehicle, and genuinely tried to make the situation better. Hertz should recognize and reward employees like these because they did an excellent job handling a situation they did not create.
My advice to future renters: do not rely solely on Hertz's reservation confirmations. Contact the branch directly before your trip and verify that the vehicle you reserved is actually available. Unfortunately, it appears customers may need to do their own follow-up to avoid surprises.
I will not be using Hertz again. The only reason this experience was tolerable was because of the professionalism and kindness of the branch staff.
