I recently picked up my wedding suit from Hemingway Tailors, and I cannot recommend them enough. As this was my first experience with proper tailoring, I walked in feeling a bit out of my depth, but Toby immediately put me at ease, along with his very friendly assistant.

I arrived with a long list of "silly" questions, and Toby took the time to answer every single one of them with genuine patience. He really listened to what I wanted for my big day and offered expert advice without ever making me feel rushed or overwhelmed.

The level of care and attention to detail was incredible. Choosing a suit for your wedding can be a bit stressful, but Toby turned it into a highlight of the wedding prep. The fit is absolutely spot on - far better than anything I've ever worn before. If you’re a first-timer looking for a high-quality suit and a comfortable, professional experience, this is the place to go!

Hemingway tailors provided the perfect tailoring experience. From the minute we arrived in Leeds Toby welcomed us with a cup of tea or coffee making us feel comfortable from the outset. Following that we engaged in discussing the details of a suit for my sister's wedding. The process was fun, educational and professional. Toby shared his stories of his history in tailoring whilst getting measurements and asking acute details, necessary for the perfect suit. And the perfect suit it was. I couldn't recommend Toby and Hemingway tailors enough.

I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Toby. He made a pair of women’s trousers, a shirt, and a waistcoat for my wedding, and from start to finish the service was exceptional.

I went in with very little knowledge about tailoring or what styles and fabrics would suit me, but Toby immediately put me at ease. After I described what I had in mind, he helped me choose the perfect fabric and explained everything clearly and thoroughly. He was incredibly knowledgeable and, most importantly, completely honest – you could tell he genuinely wanted me to look and feel my best.

At the measuring appointment, he again took the time to explain every detail and made thoughtful suggestions, always clarifying how each choice would improve the overall look and fit on me. His attention to detail and passion for his craft really stood out.

When I went for my final fitting, everything fit perfectly and looked amazing. I truly couldn’t be happier with the result. I can’t wait for my partner to see me in my outfit on the big day!

I bought a very last minute Christmas gift and had assumed that I would have missed any opportunity to buy such a fabulous gift of a tailoring experience for my partner. I couldn't have been more wrong, the customer service, attention to detail and communication was fabulous, personable and really made the buying experience a positive and smooth experience. My partner was absolutely delighted with his gift and we look forward to visiting in the New Year.

I can’t speak highly enough of my experience at Hemingway Tailors! From the moment I walked in, Toby made me feel completely at ease, especially since I’ve struggled with self-confidence in the past. He truly went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and looked my best for my wedding suit. Toby stayed after hours, giving me all the time I needed to make sure every detail was perfect.
It’s rare to find a tailor who listens so carefully to exactly what you’re looking for, and Toby did just that. He paid attention to every detail, from shirt monograms to the initials embroidered into my jacket—nothing was overlooked. The level of personal care and attention I received was exceptional, and I felt like I was the only customer in the world.
Joanne was also incredible, and together they created an experience that felt genuinely personal and special. My wife had a waistcoat and suit trousers tailored by Toby for our wedding in early August after a recommendation from a friend (previous client) and what a fabulous choice!
We met with Toby in February to select fabrics, met again in April to be fitted and collected in early June.
Toby not only listened to what Jen wanted but really supported in making the decisions about colour, buttons etc.
Toby is incredibly humble but should be reminded how phenomenal his work is because she looked a million dollars.

By far the best suit fitting experience!!

The fact Toby knew my measurements just by eye as I walked in was seriously impressive. In addition to this Toby instantly understood the style of suit I was looking for and his recommendation on the fabric was on point.

It was the first time I've gone to try a suit on and no adjustments were needed. For me that tells you everything you need to know about the level of professionalism and Toby's skills.

Toby at Hemingways in Leeds made our whole experience a dream. We were in need of 3 piece female suit for a wedding in January. By April we picked up our perfect suit. He was always wanting to help and make sure it was perfect. He altered the suit 3 times to ensure it was exactly what we envisioned on the first meeting. He was warm and friendly. We couldn’t thank him anymore for the service and suit he provided for us.

I have recently had an overcoat, suit and shooting jacket made. The service and advice given by Toby was top notch as was the quality of the garments. Every possible detail was taken care of with care and efficiency. Clothing to be proud of. I cannot praise enough!
