Lost Pet X-ray recirds

This practise ‘lost’ our dogs x-rays ….. apparently, their ‘system’ deletes x-ray records automatically.
No reasons given as to why file records did not include (paid for) x-rays.
Most vet practises file and keep pet records, including x-rays for 7-10 years, (good practise), but Heathe Vets do not.
Apparently this has been the norm for some time!
They also use a high number of locum vets, you are almost guaranteed to see someone different each visit.
Best avoid risking your pet with this approach?

Money making business through and…

Money making business through and through. I took my cat for a tooth extraction. He would be under anaesthesia for it. First they kept finding reasons to not aneathetise him and 3 times he had to be on fluids, because he was apparently dehydrated, bloods had to be done twice .. and the all they time we are paying dearly. Even when he did eventually go under anaesthesia, for tooth extraction, they found an excuse not to pull the tooth, they could miraculously do xrays and told me that between 9 to 11 teeth would have to be extracted at another time. In the mean time my poor cat is getting more and more distressed everytime he goes there. The cherry on top for me was when the vet kept referring to my cat as her, although it is a boy and kept saying 'liver' when she meant kidney. Out of the blue I got a text to pick up meds for him before surgery. There was no warning or explanation of what this for. So when I looked up the drug name, it said it was for human epilepsy. I would rate the practice 0 stars if that was possible!

making money put before care / treatment

I took my 15 year old pet there following a sudden downturn in his health. He had suffered a heart attack. Went downhill in car on the way and wasn't really aware visually or audially. The vet said they needed to monitor him for 2 hours and that I may not get him back alive, repeated twice - around £500 plus drugs. As I left I called my wife who has worked in palliative care environments - she said he would die shortly. I decided to take him home rather than die alone in a strange place. They suggested blood tests or putting him to sleep or pain killers - he didn't last even an hour more. Felt more like a money-making scam than honest care plan assessment.

Disgusting service

The service received from this practice after the very sudden death of my cat was little more than disgusting. I wanted to write a complaint to the practice manager and was replied to by the practice nurse. When I eventually received a written reply, she all but blamed me for the death of my pet and did not address my concerns regarding the vet who had seen him 6 weeks before his death. Very disappointing experience and one that I would not wish on anyone. This company has really gone downhill and I am grateful that I have more pets and do not have to deal with these “business” people anymore. Not one vet/ owner contacted me to offer condolences and I even received a text saying that his worming was due. She hadn’t even had the decency to write this on his notes.

If I could leave 0 stars I would

If I could leave 0 stars I would, I have never been treated so poorly by a vet as I have here today. It’s clear that this vet is a money maker over customer service and actually helping animals. All the vet was focussed on was bringing my dog in for scans which were ridiculously priced, instead of helping with a less invasive way of getting a urine sample. The last time I came here was 2 years ago and there were some lovely Vets working in this establishment (money pit). I will not be using this Vet practice again ever !! Oh and thank you for being all about the money 👏 💰 £153 for 10 minutes of rubbish service and some medication, not a bad way to be ripped off!! Considering we asked for the prescription, only to be told, “we’ve filled the bottles now” so couldn’t buy the medication online 🤷‍♂️Well done Heath Vets.

Veterinary Clinic - Ant's Pants, Bee's Knees & in this case, Cat's Pyjamas!

I have only excellent things to say about this Veterinary Group and Vet Service.

Every time I have needed advice or, in need of their expert services, they have always been attentive and accommodating and at a "drop everything" moment's notice.

This time around, and during Covid no less - which has basically seen me desperate to scale monumental Super Woman styled heights to convey my message of share glee, rewarding them all with mountains of kudos with cream and jam on top.

From the warmth of the receptionists/nurses on deck (Christine, Denise, Rachel, Sophie, Sue - hope I haven't left anyone out) and then onto 'Cat' Catherine Durrant, MRCVS, my tremendous Vet.

This could become an Academy Award length speech.

But no, facetiousness aside. Long winded I'll try not to be, but just enough to convey my heartfelt thanks for Cat's care and attention to my little, Bertie who I thought I might just lose. And that's not a thought I could even bear to contemplate ever since Bertie 'strayed' into my life. The poor little mite must have been in devastating pain, but giving nothing much away to indicate exactly what. I even thought he may have bitten a large slice out of his own tongue as he went into complete 'lock-down' mode. No eating, no purring, playing, just hiding from the world. And, of course, they can't tell you what's amiss, you truly have to have a crystal ball when it comes to a cat who wants to usually assure you they're simply 'purr-fect.'

No question about it, off to the Vet. Next day an immediate appointment. FABULOUS!

Cat went straight into 'action hero mode' deftly and gently prizing open the boy's mouth - where no man/woman or beast normally dare go, and immediately recognised the problem, ascertaining his teeth needed desperate attention. Weight checked. Sedating him and relieving his pain. Bloods taken to check kidney/liver function and general health.

Having had a likelihood of previous 'untreated' dental disease - and the reason why a large number of teeth were missing - the lucky few left were either fragile, broken, infected - you get the picture.

Cat extracted the unstable/diseased ones. She had to remove 6 teeth with 10 only remaining - which he can live with. The major infection throughout his mouth was dealt a swift blow with long acting antibiotics to send him on the road to full recovery.
He was kept on fluids until I picked him up, fully hydrated, nails also clipped while under sedation. His remaining 10 teeth scaled and polished ready to chomp his favourite food again. His pain has also been taken care of with a prescription formula for the next few days.

He is now a (little bigger, thanks to Cat) and a much 'Happier Chappie.' And with that, Bertie and I thank you from the bottom of our incisors.
